West Coast thrash metal legends Dark Angel will embark on “The Extinction Level Event” North American Tour this fall, their first domestic trek in over three decades.

Dark Angel’s first North American tour since the early 1990s celebrates their forthcoming comeback album, Extinction Level Event (Reversed Records), their first new album since 1991.

Formed in 1981 – the same year as Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Mercyful Fate, and Sodom – Dark Angel earned a devoted cult following as pioneers and architects of the burgeoning thrash metal sound. The genre-defining We Have Arrived (1985), Darkness Descends (1986), Leave Scars (1989), and Time Does Not Heal (1991) helped shape a musical movement alongside their peers.

Renowned for their ferocity and precision, the band’s signature blend of speed, technicality, and intensity made them beloved by headbangers around the world, as evidenced by the t-shirts and patches brandished by fans in the years since the band’s original run. The blistering “Circular Firing Squad” gave the thrash faithful another taste of the new album when it dropped last month. Silverstein is excited to announce the third and final leg of their worldwide 25 Years Of Noise Tour, kicking off in North America on November 18th. An epic conclusion to the band’s celebratory 25th anniversary run, the month-long trek features support from Thursday, Free Throw, and Bloom, with the addition of The Movielife for the final show in Brooklyn on December 20th. Tickets and VIP packages will be available starting this Friday, July 18th at 10am local time.

The band wrapped up the tour’s initial legs in North America and the UK/EU earlier this year alongside Thursday, The Callous Daoboys, Arm’s Length, Split Chain, Real Friends, Broadside, and Greyhaven, in addition to a recent performance at Vans Warped Tour in Washington, D.C.

Later this month they’ll be performing at the Long Beach date of the Vans Warped Tour before bringing the show to Australia with Real Friends. The 25 Years of Noise Tour with conclude with a final performance in Brooklyn on December 20 featuring support from Thursday, The Movielife, Free Throw, and Bloom.

Silverstein recently released one of their most ambitious singles to date, “Drain the Blood” featuring Rory Rodriguez of Dayseeker. Malaspalabras Records, the artist-friendly music label formed in 2023 by celebrated Santana vocalist Andy Vargas and renowned comedic actor George Lopez, is celebrating the release of “So Fine,” a brilliant new single by Vargas and his Santana bandmate, singer Ray Greene.

Produced by Adrian “AK” Cisneros and Chris Morris, “So Fine” is a deep-grooving contemporary R&B update of the song first made famous by Howard Johnson in 1982. This striking new version brims with percolating basslines and slinky guitar rhythms, but its main attraction is the glorious duet with two vocal masters, Vargas and Greene.

“Ray and I have always loved this song, and we felt it had a vibe we could really connect with,” Vargas says. “He’s got such a strong, dynamic voice, and we’ve always had a great time singing together live with Santana. Recording ‘So Fine’ with him was the icing on the cake.”

On July 16, both Vargas and Greene begin the second leg of Santana’s 2025 European tour. Between live dates, Vargas has been hard at work recording his long-awaited debut solo album, The Heart and Soul of Andy Vargas, which will be released by Malaspalabras Records (MPR) during the first quarter of 2026.

“I feel as if this record is the culmination of all my musical experiences,” he says. “From all the people I’ve worked with, all the energy I’ve received from recordings, studio sessions and live performances with my band and, of course, Santana, this is an opportunity for me to put my best foot forward. I can’t wait to share this album with the world.”

“Good Intentions” was originally written and recorded for Toad The Wet Sprocket’s 1991 album fear. Simple, catchy and just over three minutes long, it had the hallmarks of a great single. “We were a rock band, and there was a feeling that this particular song was too lightweight for us,” recalls bassist Dean Dinning. Columbia Records, however, loved it and even suggested it as the album title. “That settled it. When the songs for the album were finally selected we made the decision to leave it off.”

Fast forward a few years, Warner Brothers were looking for music for a soundtrack album to a new show called “Friends”. Amongst tracks from R.E.M, The Rembrandts, and Barenaked Ladies, Toad the Wet Sprocket’s “Good Intentions” was chosen as a single with an accompanying video featuring “Friends” co-star Courtney Cox. The soundtrack went multi-platinum and “Good Intentions” peaked at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart. Of the new version, Dinning says, “As a joke, we tried playing it with a bluegrass feel and prominent mandolin part. It came alive in a way that felt really exciting…the audience response was incredible and has been that way pretty much every night we do it.”

The intention behind the “Good Intentions (Acoustic)” video is to capture the joy and celebratory spirit that comes from seeing music performed live, something that the band appreciates at every show with their fans. It also documents the studio recording of “Good Intentions (Acoustic)” which will be a part of a new album available later this year.

Toad The Wet Sprocket will embark on the 2025 Good Intentions U.S. headlining tour in July with KT Tunstall, Sixpence None The Richer, The Jayhawks and Vertical Horizon on select dates.

Alter Bridge Announce Eighth Album Alter Bridge for 2026 with Heavy Riffs, Dual Vocals, and Epic Final Track

 With more than two decades performing together, acclaimed rockers Alter Bridge show no signs of slowing down. Known for their memorable riffs, infectious vocal melodies and dueling guitar attack, the quartet comprised of Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums have garnered themselves massive critical and fan acclaim around the globe.

The band looks to continue that trend when they release their self-titled, eighth studio album next year via Napalm Records. Alter Bridge will be released on January 9, 2026, first physical formats for pre-order are now available.

Alter Bridge is comprised of 12 all new tracks from the band and features some of their most iconic moments on record. Songs like “Rue The Day,” “Disregarded” and “Scales Are Falling” will fit alongside any of the classic songs from Alter Bridge’s catalog. “Trust In Me” shows Myles and Mark sharing vocal duties as Myles handles the verse duties while Mark takes the chorus. That strategy is flipped on “Tested And Able” as Mark handles the verses and Myles takes on the choruses behind one of the band’s heaviest intros to date, giving way to an unforgettable melody. “Hang By A Thread” is sure to become a show favorite as it hints at some of the most popular songs in the band’s catalog. The album closer “Slave To Master” is an epic track that Alter Bridge has come to be known for and is the longest song the quartet has recorded to date. The band worked with longtime collaborator and producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette on their eighth album. Alter Bridge was recorded over 2 months this Spring in the legendary 5150 studio in California and Elvis’ recording studio in Florida.

Placebo have announced a new four disc deluxe collection, This Search For Meaning, for release on 12th September via SO Recordings. The deluxe six-panel digipak features their acclaimed new documentary This Search For Meaning on blu-ray and DVD, plus two audio CDs of This Is What You Wanted – Live In Mexico City, as well as a bonus track edition of their latest studio album Never Let Me Go which includes their cover of the Tears For Fears hit ‘Shout’. The set also features a pull-out poster booklet.

The band’s new documentary This Search For Meaning, directed by Scottish award-winning filmmaker Oscar Sansom, received its theatrical release last year. It is an intimate and enlightening film exploring the ideas that inhabit the lyrics and subject matter of Placebo’s songs, whilst charting their evolution as a group and as human beings. It is a fearless, truthful and forthright exploration of the creative process and the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle, along with its inevitable consequences.

Both reflective and revealing, interviews with the band members also underline Placebo’s ongoing socio-cultural curiosity and musical journey – a quest that continues in their chart-topping albums and sold-out live arena performances worldwide today. In and around the band’s presence, we see contributions from other significant figures from the music world that either admire or have been inspired by Placebo. These entertaining and often emotive discussions are presented as a single, yet multi-faceted, overheard conversation – and include the likes of Shirley Manson (Garbage), Robbie Williams, Yungblud, Rebecca Lucy Taylor (Self Esteem), Joe Talbot (IDLES) as well as actor Benedict Cumberbatch, and contemporary artist Stuart Semple. The result is honest and rewarding – capturing the sense that we are all just trying to figure out our place in this world; and hopefully making some sense of it too.

The film’s overall narrative is structured around incredible and completely new performances of Placebo’s latest songs – taken from Never Let Me Go – captured at Britain’s legendary Twickenham Film Studios, where The Beatles can be seen composing a new album in Peter Jackson’s Get Back. The film is intercut with archive footage of the band, and exclusive, never-before-seen, material that spans across their entire career, including their creative and personal collaboration with David Bowie and his enduring influence.

Genre-bending alt/goth/industrial legends Julien-K have just announced over 30 new tour dates, marking one of the busiest schedules in the band’s recent history.

Following national tours with The Union Underground and Spineshank, international treks alongside Lord of the Lost and Scarlet Riot, and special appearances with Strangelove and Stabbing Westward, Julien-K is now gearing up for a headlining West Coast run in support of the release of their new album, DRK|MODE.

And they’re not done yet-even more dates are expected to be announced soon, promising to close out 2025 with a powerful statement from one of the scene’s most enduring and innovative acts.
