Ape Drums Drops “For Your Love” With Eli Fola and BL SUEDE Ahead of Global Shows and New Album Era

0

Miami-based label Armada Music proudly presents “For Your Love,” the latest single from Ape Drums, featuring contributions from Eli Fola and BL SUEDE. Dropping this Friday, the track showcases Ape Drums’ signature progressive Afro tech sounds, fused with Eli Fola’s Afro-house, techno, jazz, and classical hybrid sound, resulting in a transcendent dancefloor anthem.

“For Your Love” seamlessly bridges global influences, blending hypnotic beats, soulful instrumentation, and infectious energy. Known for his boundary-pushing approach to music, Ape Drums draws inspiration from pioneers like Steve Angello, Swedish House Mafia, Carl Cox, and Erick Morillo. His breakout moment came in 2014, when RL Grimebooked him for HARD Day of the Dead, marking a pivotal turning point in his career. Now a key contributor to the next wave of Major Lazer’s sound, Ape Drums continues to release new singles monthly. At the heart of his artistry lies his commitment to creating music that feels good—music that not only moves him but connects deeply with audiences.

Complementing Ape Drums’ innovative style is Eli Fola, the pioneer of Yoruba Tech Soul, who layers Afro-house grooves with jazz and classical influences, and BL SUEDE, who adds modern textures and heartfelt energy, completing the dynamic collaboration.

As a standout track in this summer’s dancefloor soundscape, “For Your Love” is set to become a global favorite, solidifying Ape Drums’ reputation as a leader in dance music innovation. Fans can expect the single to resonate on stages worldwide, continuing Armada Music’s legacy of genre-defining releases.

Eric Alberto-Lopez, professionally known as Ape Drums, is a genre-bending DJ and producer whose journey from cassette tape daydreams to global festival stages has been anything but ordinary. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, the Mexican-American artist first fell in love with music at an early age, obsessively dissecting tracks while listening to music and teaching himself how songs were built. Fascinated by the sounds and structures of the songs he grew up listening to, he taught himself how to arrange music—long before he had access to proper gear. He always had a sense of what people wanted to hear, instinctively tailoring his ideas to move the crowd.

Originally dreaming of becoming a scratch DJ, Ape Drums shifted his path after watching The Martinez Brothers—two young Latin kids just like him—DJing on gear he had never seen before. It was 2008, and something clicked. Deep-diving into the world of electronic music and EDM culture, he began building his career, driven by the belief that he, too, could make it. What started as a duo project with a friend, eventually became Eric’s solo artistic identity. He got an early boost connecting with the Major Lazer crew via Twitter, all while building his own global presence through solo world tours as Ape Drums, known for his high-energy dancehall and dance music sets. His momentum and unique sound eventually caught Major Lazer’s attention, leading to collaborations and opening slots at their shows.

That relationship flourished over time, and in 2019, Ape Drums was officially asked to join the group. For him, being part of Major Lazer isn’t just a creative collaboration—it’s an immersive experience. From the high-energy shows to the behind-the-scenes lessons on navigating life on tour, it’s a chapter he considers one of the most enriching of his career.

Now based in Miami, Ape Drums has spent the last eight years sharpening his sound and redefining his identity. While he first made waves producing Caribbean-influenced electronic music, his evolution has taken him through EDM and now into a bold new era of Afro-tech and Afro-house. His sound is darker, rawer, and globally inspired. Though Mexican music was always around him, he grew up listening to a wide range of genres—from heavy metal and rock en español to R&B and ’90s dance music—all of which helped shape his ear and spark his early passion for production. Over time, he began chasing new textures and cultural hybrids, blending reggaeton, funk, and electronic elements to craft a sound that’s distinctly his own. Ape Drums credits much of his artistic vision to dance. His first passion was breakdancing, and it taught him to feel music in his body before ever producing it. That intuitive sense of rhythm continues to guide his creative process today.

All Time Low Kick Off New Era With “SUCKERPUNCH,” Announce Fall Tour and Album Tease

0

Multi-platinum Maryland quartet All Time Low – Alex Gaskarth, Jack Barakat, Rian Dawson and Zack Merrick — known for their anthemic, inimitable sound and fiercely loyal fanbase, embark on a bold new era with the release of “SUCKERPUNCH,” out now via their own imprint, Basement Noise Records, in partnership with Photo Finish Records/Virgin Music Group. Sonically all arena-rock bombast and lyrically sentimental, “SUCKERPUNCH” — co-produced by frontman Gaskarth alongside Dan Swank — signals a thrilling new chapter for the rock outfit, who have sold more than 3.5 million albums in the U.S. alone and have garnered over  5 billion streams worldwide to date.

“‘SUCKERPUNCH’ is a song about getting knocked down so many times that you learn to wear your bruises like badges,” Gaskarth says. “The music and tone of the song are so intentionally steeped in overconfident swagger, while the lyrics tell a very different story about stepping into the ring with an opponent twice your size, waiting for the bell to ring with a smile on your face.  It’s saying ‘I have been so many different things for you, why not be your punching bag as well?’ I wanted to marry the grit and punch of an arena rock song with moments of Quincy Jones and Genesis… That culminated in a song that felt like kicking the door down, so we knew this had to come out first.”

All Time Low have additionally released the official music video for “SUCKERPUNCH” which, like the song itself, is both electrifying and sentimental. The video made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop and on the Paramount Times Square billboards today and centers on “Axel,” a legendary stuntman who looks back at the most death-defying stunt of his career.

All Time Low head out on tour this fall for a just-announced nationwide headline run. Produced by Live Nation, their EVERYONE’S TALKING! TOUR will kick off on October 4, 2025 in Missoula, Montana with support from special guests Mayday Parade, The Cab, Four Year Strong, and The Paradox across select cities. The 30-plus-date outing includes appearances at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Oct 12), When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas (Oct 18 + 19) and Warped Tour in Orlando (Nov 16).

It’s been a momentous era for All Time Low: in addition to working on new music, the band celebrated its 20th anniversary last year with the release of The Forever Sessions Vol. 1 album via their own imprint – Basement Noise Records – launched  in partnership with Photo Finish Records/Virgin Music Group. The new LP featured re-recordings of the band’s greatest hits from the early part of their career including “Dear Maria, Count Me In (ATL’s Version).”

Since their inception in 2003, All Time Low have shattered records, topped charts, sold out arenas and carved out a fervent fanbase along the way. Their catalog consists of five consecutive Top 10 albums on the Billboard Top 200 in addition to picking up multi-platinum, platinum, and gold certifications. Speaking to their impact, Rolling Stone named So Wrong, It’s Right, among its “50 Greatest Pop Punk Albums.” In 2020, they ascended to a new commercial and critical high watermark with their eighth full-length LP, Wake Up, Sunshine. Following a #1 debut on the Top Rock Albums chart, it spawned the biggest hit of the band’s career thus far, “Monsters” [feat. blackbear]. It clinched #1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart for an unprecedented 18 weeks, emerging as the longest-charting song ever at the Modern Rock format. In addition to going platinum, it notably garnered “Alternative Rock Song of the Year” at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, while superstar Demi Lovato teamed up with the group for the Official Remix.

The band also captivated audiences with explosive sets at Bonnaroo and Firefly, along with unforgettable appearances on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ellen, Good Morning America, and more.

Brothers, Sisters, and Tunes: Music’s Greatest Sibling Acts

They say you can choose your bandmates, but you can’t choose your family — unless, of course, your family is your band. From onstage harmonies to offstage squabbles, here are 20 bands that kept it all in the family.

AC/DC
Australian rock legends AC/DC were powered by the electric bond between brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. With Angus in a schoolboy uniform and Malcolm riffing hard in the background, they defined the sound of stadium-sized rock forever.

The Avett Brothers
Scott and Seth Avett built their band on roots, heartache, and harmonies that hit like handwritten letters. Their blend of folk, punk, and Americana is a family affair that feels like a porch jam that got out of hand in the best way.

Bee Gees
The Brothers Gibb — Barry, Robin, and Maurice — gave disco its heartbeat and soft rock its soul. From “Stayin’ Alive” to “How Deep Is Your Love,” they harmonized like angels… with fabulous hair.

The Beach Boys
Brian, Carl, and Dennis Wilson turned Southern California into a sonic paradise. Add cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine, and you’ve got the most iconic family barbecue ever set to wax.

The Black Crowes
Chris and Rich Robinson gave rock fans blues-drenched swagger and a front-row seat to their sibling rivalry. The Crowes fought, flew, broke up, made up — and made killer music in between.

The Breeders
Kim and Kelley Deal brought grunge a dose of off-kilter beauty and distortion-rich anthems. When Kim wasn’t busy with Pixies, she and Kelley turned “Cannonball” into an alt-rock war cry.

The Carpenters
Richard and Karen Carpenter brought tenderness and harmony to pop with songs that wrapped around your heart like a warm blanket. Karen’s voice was one in a million — and Richard was the orchestral engine behind it all.

Creedence Clearwater Revival
John and Tom Fogerty led one of the most iconic American rock bands of the late ’60s, delivering swampy hits like “Bad Moon Rising” and “Fortunate Son.” While their creative chemistry was undeniable, their personal tensions eventually boiled over—proving once again that rock and roll and family can be a volatile mix.

The Cribs
The Jarman brothers — Gary, Ryan, and Ross — gave indie rock a shot of raw energy straight from Wakefield, UK. Their DIY ethos and wild stage presence made them underground darlings.

HAIM
Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim took Fleetwood Mac vibes and made them modern. Their bond as sisters is half the magic — the other half is undeniable groove, charm, and bass face.

Heart
Ann and Nancy Wilson brought thunder and tenderness to rock, becoming one of the most powerful sister duos in music history. From “Barracuda” to “Alone,” they didn’t just break the mold — they melted it with soaring vocals and face-melting guitar solos.

INXS
While Michael Hutchence was the charismatic frontman, it was brothers Tim, Andrew, and Jon Farriss who formed the band’s backbone. Their Aussie rock swagger ruled MTV and arenas alike.

The Kinks
Ray and Dave Davies took British rock to sneering, snarling new heights. Between hits like “You Really Got Me” and legendary onstage fights, they set the gold standard for brotherly love… and guitar riffs that could split a pub in two.

The Jesus and Mary Chain
Scottish brothers Jim and William Reid made feedback an art form. Their fuzz-drenched sound and moody cool helped define shoegaze before shoegaze had a name — and yes, they’ve broken up and reunited more times than you can count.

Kings of Leon
Three Followill brothers (Caleb, Nathan, and Jared) plus cousin Matthew turned Southern garage rock into global anthems. Who knew a family jam in Nashville would lead to “Sex on Fire”?

Oasis
Liam and Noel Gallagher may have made beautiful music, but their backstage brawls were just as legendary. “Wonderwall”? Timeless. Their family dinners? Probably best avoided.

Paramore
While not always front-and-center, brothers Josh and Zac Farro were key to Paramore’s early rise. Zac’s return to the band brought rhythm, fire, and a little extra sibling spark to the mix.

Radiohead
Colin and Jonny Greenwood are more than just brothers — they’re half of one of the most important bands of the last 30 years. Jonny makes guitars weep and synths tremble, while Colin lays down the foundation.

The Staves
Jessica, Camilla, and Emily Staveley-Taylor are the British sisters who make harmonies so heavenly, they sound like a single voice echoing through a forest. Their folk-pop is both intimate and epic.

Tegan and Sara
Canada’s indie-pop queens, identical twins Tegan and Sara Quin, turn life’s awkward, emotional roller coasters into anthems. Whether acoustic or electro-pop, their connection is unmistakable.

Turns out sibling rivalry makes for great songwriting — and even better stories.

Fujii Kaze Releases “Hachikō” and Announces All-English Album ‘Prema’ with 2025 Global Tour

0

Primed to make waves around the globe this year, acclaimed Japanese singer, songwriter, Fujii Kaze shares a brand-new single entitled “Hachikō” available now. It heralds the arrival of his anxiously awaited third full-length studio album, Prema, out September 5, 2025.

About the release, Kaze said, “It all started with a bit of playfulness. Tobias Jesso Jr. suggested we try a song with Japanese in it. He said “What was the name of that dog at Shibuya?” and I said, “uh…Hachiko?”. And Sir Nolan made the beat on the spot. Years later, I watched the movie “The Tale of Hachikō” to finish the song. The melody and lyrics came naturally after that. I had never written a song to a beat before, so it was a whole new experience for me. Finally, I worked with producer 250 to further refine it. Hachiko, a loyal dog, waited for his deceased owner for 10 years at the station every day, and they finally got to see each other in heaven. Rather than focusing on the tragic sides of the story, the song highlights its joy and peace. This song is about the power of loyalty and, it seems also about my fans who have been patiently waiting for my 3rd album. Ha!

Expanding his sound once more, “Hachikō” laces primarily English lyrics with Japanese phrases, bringing bilingual energy to the tune. Neon keys accent the stomp of a head-nodding drumbeat, while bassline struts across the path of a disco-ready track. Buoyed by shimmering synths, it culminates on a gloriously catchy chorus, “You’ve been patiently waiting for me. It has all the makings of an international banger.

It lands in the wake of the 2024 fan favourite “Michi Teyu ku (Overflowing).” Beyond reeling in over 90 million Spotify streams, he has recently landed looks in Billboard and more.

In other news, Kaze will be performing all over the world in 2025. He will appear at upcoming festivals such as North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Lollapalooza in Chicago, and Outside Lands in San Francisco. Check out his full confirmed itinerary below.

It has been three years since the release of the second album in 2022. Prema is the third studio album with all English lyrics. It contains 9 songs including the lead track “Hachikō”.

  1. Casket Girl
  2. I Need U Back

THE CURE HAS A COLOURFUL HISTORY WITH ALL KINDS OF DANCE MUSIC, AND I WAS CURIOUS AS TO HOW THE WHOLE ALBUM WOULD SOUND ENTIRELY REINTERPRETED BY OTHERS. THIS CURIOSITY RESULTED IN A FABULOUS TRIP THROUGH ALL 8 SONGS BY 24 WONDERFUL ARTISTS AND REMIXERS AND IS WAY BEYOND ANYTHING I COULD HAVE HOPED FOR. GIVING OUR RECORDING ROYALTIES FROM THE PROJECT TO WAR CHILD HELPS MAKE MIXES OF A LOST WORLD AN EVEN MORE SPECIAL RELEASE.”

Initially formed in 1978, The Cure has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, headlined the Glastonbury Festival four times, and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. They are considered to be one of the most influential bands to ever come out of the UK. The Cure’s first album in 16 years, ‘Songs Of A Lost World’, reached #1 in fifteen countries and the top 5 in a further seven.

Andy Vella, a long-time Cure collaborator, has ‘remixed’ the artwork for the album, which as with ‘Songs Of A Lost World’, features ‘Bagatelle’, a 1975 sculpture by Janez Pirnat.

Childers further establishes himself as “one of country music’s most compelling and unpredictable artists” (Associated Press), as he puts forth a thirteen-track collection that showcases the signature artistry he’s cultivated throughout his esteemed career, while continuing to push his own creative boundaries. Longtime fans will no doubt note and appreciate the inclusion of fan-favorite, “Nose on the Grindstone,” which is officially out now for the first time after years of being played on the road.

Snipe Hunter is produced by Rick Rubin with additional production from Childers and Sylvan Esso’s Nick Sanborn.

“One of his generation’s most important voices” (Rolling Stone), Childers has released five acclaimed albums to date including his 2017 RIAA Platinum debut, Purgatory, 2019’s #1 Country Squire and 2023’s Rustin’ In The Rain, which debuted at #10 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The record features seven tracks including the 2x Grammy, VMA and ACM-nominated single, “In Your Love,” which, since its release, has garnered over 13.7 million video views, 215 million on-demand streams and received overwhelming praise from outlets such as NPR Music, Rolling Stone, Billboard, USA Today, Pitchfork, Stereogum and many more. Childers has also performed countless sold-out shows across the world and been featured on CBS Mornings, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, NPR Music’s “Tiny Desk Concert” series and Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.

Known for his electric live shows, Childers and his band The Food Stamps—James Barker (guitar, pedal steel), Craig Burletic (bass), CJ Cain (guitars), Kory Caudill (keyboards), Rodney Elkins (drums), Matt Rowland (keyboards) and Jesse Wells (guitar, fiddle)—will tour through this fall with his extensive “Tyler Childers On The Road Tour,” which includes upcoming stops New York’s Forest Hills Stadium (two nights), Nashville’s GEODIS Park (two nights) and London’s O2 Arena among many others. Marcus King Shares “Carolina Honey” and Announces Star-Studded Summer Tour Following ‘Mood Swings’ and ‘Young Blood’ Success

The Marcus King Band unveils a further taste of new music with “Carolina Honey,” out now via American Records/Republic Records. Listen/share the song HERE.

“Carolina Honey” follows “Honky Tonk Hell.” Listen/share the song HERE.

“‘Carolina Honey’ is all about how I met my wife and what a significant impact that chance meeting had on my life that one night after a show in Raleigh, NC,” says King. “I woke up still hurting from the night before—still feeling I didn’t have much to live for. I’d given up on any thought that I could ever be ‘happy.’ All that changed when Little Bird walked into my life. After my set, Briley came backstage to say hello—she started playing Linda Ronstadt and singing, and for the first time I saw something or someone in front of me that gave me ‘hope.’ Someone I wanted to be my BEST self for—someone I wanted to grow old with, someone that made me want to grow old ‘at all.’ ‘Carolina Honey’ takes the listener through my mentality that day, my change of heart that night, and my burning desire for her to feel the same way too.”

The beloved Marcus King Band Family Reunion music festival will return for its fourth installment this summer, taking place in Charleston, SC, for the first time ever. Over the course of two days—August 23 and 24—the festival will see performances by the Marcus King Band, Jamey Johnson, Stephen Wilson Jr., Molly Tuttle, Hiss Golden Messenger, and more. Tickets and more information are HERE.

This year finds King hitting the road with Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, Eric Church, and Dwight Yoakam. Complete list of dates below. King will be performing at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN, on June 12. He recently took the stage at CMA Fest in Nashville, performing at Nissan Stadium alongside Brooks & Dunn following their release of “Rock My World (Little Country Girl)” on their Reboot II album. He also played Spotify House before joining forces with Jordan Davis for a special performance of their unreleased track, “Louisiana Stick.” Additionally, King surprised fans with a pop-up set at Chief’s for SiriusXM. He sat in with Lukas Nelson for his set at Chief’s as well.

Greenville, South Carolina–born, Nashville-based Marcus King started performing alongside his blues-guitarist father when he was just eight years old. He made his solo debut with El Dorado (2020), produced by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. The album was met with widespread acclaim; the Associated Press called it “a definite high point of 2020.” It went on to earn King a landmark Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

He followed up the success of El Dorado with Young Blood (2022), also produced by Auerbach. The sophomore album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Blues Albums Chart, with Billboard describing it as a “staggeringly confident work.” Last year, King returned with his third album, Mood Swings, produced by Rick Rubin, of which Rolling Stone writes that he “goes for something much more daring, vulnerable, and openhearted.”
