0

Today, multi-platinum producer Pitt Tha Kid releases his latest single, “Drill To Dubai.” Listen here.

On “Drill To Dubai,” Pitt Tha Kid is introducing himself as a culture conduit by bringing together sounds from across the world through his 4 featured artists.

“The idea behind this record was to pull different cultures together and create a sound that hasn’t been heard before,” says Pitt. “It combines the NY, Arabic and Indian hip hop scenes for an anthem we can all vibe to.”

From the United States, Pitt brings in New York City’s heavy hitter DD Osama. DD began his music career in 2021, and quickly rose to fame with his music video for “40s N 9s” amassing over 28 million views on YouTube, contributing to his growing popularity. From the bubbling South Asian music scene, Pitt brings in Big Boi Deep, a Punjabi singer and lyricist known for blending traditional Punjabi lyrics with modern Western beats. From Egypt, Pitt has brought on FL EX, a prominent rapper and singer who has significantly influenced the Egyptian drill and North African hip-hop scenes. Last, but not least, Pitt has enlisted Tayeb Santo – a rising rapper and hip-hop artist born and raised in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), known for his unique ability to blend multiple Arabic dialects into his music. Tayeb is fluent in several Arabic dialects—Arabic Fusha, Emirati, and Egyptian, to name a few—allowing him to connect with audiences across different Arab communities, giving his music a distinctive, relatable edge.

The track arrives alongside a high energy music video which features footage from each artist, shot in their respective cities, with Pitt at the centre bringing together sights and sounds from across the world.

In only five years since carving his own path in the industry, Pitt’s versatile creativity and natural skill has earned him three #1 albums (Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon by Pop Smoke, So Much Fun by Young Thug, Los Dioses by Latin superstars Anuel AA & Ozuna, 11:11 by Chris Brown, and pink tape by Lil Uzi Vert) and production credits for some of the hottest names in music (Coi Leray, Lil Wayne, EST Gee, NAV, Big Sean, Bryson Tiller, Chlöe Bailey, Mike WiLL Made-It, ScHoolboy Q, 2 Chainz).

Teddy Swims Delivers Soul-Pop Perfection with “God Went Crazy” Ahead of 32-Track Album Drop

0

Today, GRAMMY-nominated breakout superstar Teddy Swims releases “God Went Crazy,” a rich and soulful tribute to finding “the one.”

Listen HERE, which made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop and on the Paramount Times Square billboards.

The brand new single is also the first official taste of the 32-song set I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Complete Edition), arriving June 27, with six new tracks including a feature from BigXthaPlug and Raiche. Pre-order the album HERE. The (Complete Edition) will gather up new music alongside all of the songs from Swims’ record-breaking first two albums, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) and (Part 2), which included the powerful singles, Bad Dreams,” Guilty,” Are You Even Real with GIVĒON, The Door,” and Lose Control.” The latter has become a 6x Platinum hit with nearly 4 billion global streams and, as of last week, holds the record for the longest Hot 100 run in history. “Lose Control” is currently #8 with 93 weeks on the chart and counting.

“God Went Crazy” is yet another reminder of Swims’ powerful voice, vision, and charisma. Over a dreamy score rich with warm bass, chiming keys, and soaring strings, Swims captures the feeling of being totally awestruck by love: “God went crazy when he painted you, ain’t seen nothing like this before / Took a little extra time on you, before he let you walk out the door.”

“I hope fans hear ‘God Went Crazy’ and it makes them think about that special person in their lives,” says Swims. “I’m lucky enough to have found a sweet, sweet love who, when I look at her, I just know there was some extra time spent on her. I know perfection is subjective, but she’s pretty damn close. ‘God Went Crazy’ is about the indescribable feeling you have when you know you’ve met your person. It is my way of trying to put into words what a soul mate means to me. When you find that special person in your life, they just feel like home.”

Swims is in the middle of an already monumental year. After releasing I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2) — which includes cameos from GIVĒON, Muni Long, Coco Jones, and GloRilla — he performed “Lose Control” at the GRAMMY Awards, where he was nominated for Best New Artist. He then launched a sold-out UK/European arena tour, did a festival sweep through South America, and is currently in the midst of his biggest headlining North American tour yet. He was recently nominated for 3 BET Awards including Best New Artist, Best Collaboration and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. This fall, Swims and his band Freak Feely head overseas for a run of arena dates in Australia and New Zealand. See the full list of dates below and click HERE for ticket info.

The Conyers, Georgia-raised star has also recently been spotted on The Kelly Clarkson Show, CBS Mornings, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and at The Brit Awards 2025 where he performed a show-stopping medley — watch HERE. Before that, he appeared on a pair of thrilling collabs: Georgia Wayswith Quavo and Luke Bryan, and Somethin’ Bout a Womanwith Thomas Rhett  (Swims and Rhett perform at Fenway Park on July 19).

All of that followed a banner 2024 fueled by the incredible success of I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1), which shot “Lose Control” to #1 on not only the Hot 100, but also five radio airplay charts (Radio Songs, Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay, Adult Contemporary Airplay, Adult R&B Airplay). Swims also delivered thrilling performances at the 2024 MTV VMAs, where he received three nominations, and the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, where he received eight nominations and won two awards: Top Hot 100 Song and Top Radio Song of 2024.

Putting in work for years on a quiet-yet-steady grind, Swims arrived at the forefront of popular culture as a tried-and-true star without comparison. He stirred up attention after posting covers online in 2019 — including Michael Jackson’s “Rock with You” and Shania Twain’s “You’re Still the One” — gaining hundreds of millions of views and leading to his signing to Warner Records in 2020. He tirelessly honed his voice and songwriting across a series of EPs — Unlearning (2021), Tough Love (2022), and Sleep Is Exhausting (2022). And he showcased his sky-high range by recording with artists as diverse as Maren Morris, Meghan Trainor, Orville Peck, Jessie Murph, X Ambassadors, ILLENIUM, Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, and Matoma

Now, Swims shows no signs of slowing down as he continues on his most ambitious global headlining tour to date and prepares for the release of I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Complete Edition) — a worthy culmination of his world-conquering run thus far.

5 Unknown Facts About Dr. John That’ll Make You Smile Like a Mardi Gras Parade

Dr. John was a walking, talking, piano-playing embodiment of New Orleans—funky, mystical, and full of heart. With a career that spanned decades and genres, he gave us so much more than “Right Place, Wrong Time.” He was a storyteller, a healer, a Night Tripper, and a king of cool. Here are five lesser-known facts about the man born Malcolm John Rebennack Jr. that’ll make you love him even more.

1. He Wanted a Friend to Be Dr. John First
Before he ever wore the feathered headdress or conjured swampy magic on stage, Dr. John wasn’t supposed to be Dr. John. The persona was originally dreamed up for his friend Ronnie Barron. Barron was going to be the frontman of a wild new stage show inspired by New Orleans voodoo legends. But when Barron dropped out, Rebennack stepped in and the Night Tripper was born. He didn’t just take on the character—he became it.

2. He Once Got Kicked Out of Choir—Then Played With the Greats
As a kid, Dr. John didn’t exactly fit into choir robes. He was kicked out of choir early on, but that didn’t stop him. By his teens, he was jamming with local legends in clubs and learning from the likes of Professor Longhair. Soon enough, he was recording music professionally, working alongside the likes of Little Richard and Guitar Slim. The kid who got tossed out of school ended up becoming one of the most respected musicians in the world.

3. He Lost a Finger—but Found His Sound
A teenage Dr. John made his name on guitar, not piano. That changed one night during a scuffle at a gig in Florida when he was shot in the hand. The injury made it impossible to keep playing guitar the same way. Instead of quitting, he switched instruments—first to bass, and then to piano. That’s when the Dr. John style we know today began to bloom: funky, fluid, and deeply New Orleans.

4. His Tribute to Louis Armstrong Came to Him in a Dream
In 2014, Dr. John released Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch, a joyful and heartfelt tribute to Louis Armstrong. The inspiration? According to Dr. John, Satchmo himself came to him in a dream and said, “Do my music your way.” And he did. The album reimagined Armstrong’s classics with gospel, funk, and jazz flourishes, all stamped with that unmistakable New Orleans groove.

5. He Made the Bonnaroo Festival Name Famous Before the Festival Did
Before 80,000 people were dancing in the Tennessee dust each summer, Desitively Bonnaroo was a 1974 album by Dr. John, produced with Allen Toussaint and backed by The Meters. The name “Bonnaroo” comes from Creole slang meaning “the best on the street,” and it perfectly summed up the vibe. When the modern Bonnaroo Festival launched in 2002, they named it in honor of that album and that spirit. Dr. John wasn’t just part of history—he helped name it.

Dr. John left us on June 6, 2019, but his music, his magic, and his message live on. He brought New Orleans to the world, not with fireworks, but with a funky shuffle and a knowing grin. Whether you first heard him on The Last Waltz, spinning Gris-Gris on vinyl, or singing in The Princess and the Frog, there’s always more to discover in his musical gumbo. Laissez les bons temps rouler, Mac.

The Reality of Gambling Addiction: Risks and Prevention

0

By Mitch Rice

Gambling can be an exciting and entertaining activity, but for some, it can turn into a serious addiction with financial and emotional consequences. Understanding the risks and recognizing the signs of gambling addiction is crucial to promoting responsible gaming and preventing harmful behaviors.

How Gambling Addiction Develops

Gambling addiction, also known as compulsive gambling, occurs when a person loses control over their betting habits. This condition is often fueled by psychological factors such as the thrill of winning, the desire to recover losses, or the false belief that luck will eventually turn in their favor.

Over time, compulsive gamblers may experience financial difficulties, strained relationships, and emotional distress. The inability to stop betting, even when facing negative consequences, is a clear indicator of addiction.

Signs of Gambling Addiction

Some common signs of gambling addiction include:

  • Loss of control: Inability to limit betting amounts or stop gambling.
  • Financial problems: Borrowing money or selling possessions to continue gambling.
  • Neglecting responsibilities: Ignoring work, family, or social obligations due to gambling.
  • Emotional distress: Anxiety, depression, or frustration linked to betting outcomes.

The Role of Responsible Gambling Platforms

Many betting platforms are taking steps to promote responsible gambling and provide support for those struggling with addiction. La Tri Ecuador, for example, encourages users to set betting limits and access resources for responsible gaming. These initiatives help create a safer environment for players while minimizing the risks associated with compulsive gambling.

How to Prevent Gambling Addiction

To avoid falling into harmful betting habits, consider the following strategies:

  • Set limits: Establish a budget and stick to it.
  • Recognize warning signs: Be aware of behaviors that indicate loss of control.
  • Seek support: If gambling is affecting your life, reach out to professionals or support groups.
  • Take breaks: Avoid excessive gambling sessions and engage in other activities.

Conclusion

Gambling addiction is a serious issue that requires awareness and preventive measures. By recognizing the risks and promoting responsible gaming, individuals can enjoy betting as a form of entertainment without falling into harmful patterns. Platforms like La Tri Ecuador play a crucial role in fostering a safe and responsible gambling environment.

5 Surprising Facts About Eminem’s ‘The Slim Shady LP’

When Eminem released The Slim Shady LP in 1999, he changed the sound and attitude of mainstream rap forever. With dark humor, brutally honest lyrics, and wild imagination, Eminem introduced the world to his alter ego Slim Shady and never looked back. This album gave hip-hop a jolt of energy, shock, and talent that no one saw coming.

1. “My Name Is” was finished in one hour
On Eminem’s very first day working with Dr. Dre, the two created “My Name Is” in about 60 minutes. Dr. Dre built the beat, Eminem freestyled over it, and the song came together almost instantly. This fast-paced collaboration showed how naturally they worked together. The song became Eminem’s first Billboard hit and introduced Slim Shady to the world.

2. Hailie’s voice was recorded without Kim knowing
Eminem’s daughter Hailie appears on the track “’97 Bonnie & Clyde.” At the time, Eminem was not on good terms with Kim. He told her he was taking Hailie to Chuck E. Cheese, but instead brought her to the studio to record vocals. Kim only found out after the song was finished. Eminem later said he planned to explain everything to Hailie when she got older.

3. A prank call turned into the Ken Kaniff character
The skit featuring Ken Kaniff started as a prank call recorded by Detroit rapper Aristotle. After a falling out between the two, Eminem took over the Ken Kaniff role himself on future albums. The character became a recurring part of Eminem’s storytelling. Ken Kaniff appeared again in Eminem’s 2024 album, showing just how long the joke lasted.

4. Zoe Winkler’s voicemail became a skit
One of the skits on the album features a voicemail from Zoe Winkler, daughter of actor Henry Winkler. She was upset by Eminem’s music and left a message for her friend about it. Instead of being offended, Eminem asked her for permission to use the message on the album. She agreed, and it became part of the final tracklist.

5. The bassline in “My Name Is” nearly got scrapped
The famous bassline in “My Name Is” comes from Labi Siffre’s 1975 song “I Got The.” Siffre only allowed it to be used after Eminem agreed to remove homophobic and sexist lyrics from the song. Without that approval, the song might have been completely different. Eminem’s team re-recorded the riff with musicians to meet the request, keeping the heart of the sample intact.

The Slim Shady LP became a cornerstone of hip-hop and launched one of the most unique voices the genre has ever heard. These stories behind the music show just how raw, strange, and brilliant that breakthrough moment really was.

Sabrina Carpenter Drops New Single “Manchild” Ahead of Sold-Out Arena Run

0

Today, two-time GRAMMY Award-winning record-breaking global superstar Sabrina Carpenter ushers in a new chapter with her single “Manchild” via Island Records – listen here. Sabrina wrote “Manchild” alongside her frequent collaborator, Amy Allen and also joined forces once again with Jack Antonoff for the single. Both GRAMMY Award winners, Amy and Jack previously worked with Sabrina on Short n’ Sweet.

This new single and chapter follow a revolutionary year for Sabrina, which saw unparalleled success. Sabrina released her groundbreaking album last August, Short n’ Sweet, which topped the charts worldwide and had one of the biggest global debuts of 2024. Upon release, the album’s opening track, “Taste,” captured #1 on Spotify’s US chart, dethroning Sabrina’s own “Please Please Please” and making it the 3rd song off her album to hit #1. ‘Short n’ Sweet also became the 1st album with 4 Pop Airplay No. 1’s since Taylor Swift. In addition to topping the charts, all three singles off the album, “Espresso” (2.2 billion), “Please Please Please” (1.4 billion), and “Taste” (1 billion) entered the coveted Billions Club on Spotify. The album as a whole garnered Sabrina six GRAMMY nods as a first-time GRAMMY nominee and won two awards for her GRAMMY debut. Sabrina took home the “Best Pop Vocal Album” award for Short n’ Sweet along with “Best Pop Solo Performance” for the album’s lead single, “Espresso.” She also made her debut on the GRAMMY’s stage with a medley of her smash singles “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.” Following the GRAMMYs, Sabrina released Short n’ Sweet (Deluxe), which featured five additional songs, including a duet with global icon Dolly Parton on “Please Please Please” and “Busy Woman” which Sabrina debuted live on her sold-out headlining arena tour.

On a global scale, Sabrina made history by becoming the first-ever female artist to occupy the entire top three of the UK Singles Chart, with “Taste,” “Please Please Please,” and “Espresso” holding the top positions concurrently. She also set a new record for the most weeks at #1 by a female artist in a single year on the Official UK Singles Chart, amassing 21 weeks at the top spot. To add to the trend of setting unprecedented milestones, she also became the first international artist to receive the Global Success award at The BRITs.

This fall, Sabrina will return with a second sold-out North American leg for her highly acclaimed Short n’ Sweet Tour, which kicks off October 23rd in Pittsburgh and will hit arenas in New York, Nashville, Toronto, and Los Angeles. Sabrina will have a five-night run at Madison Square Garden in New York and a six-night run at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, where the tour will wrap on November 23rd. The second leg follows the incredibly successful 33-date sold-out North American leg, which wrapped last November, and the sold-out European leg, where additional shows were added in four cities due to demand.

Last month, Sabrina attended her third MET Gala in a custom Louis Vuitton look. She also appeared on SNL earlier this year for their 50th anniversary special, where she sang “Homeward Bound” with Paul Simon and starred in a remake of the fan favorite “Domingo” sketch. Sabrina made her SNL debut as the musical guest for the season finale last May. She recently graced the cover of Vogue US for the first time – see the cover/read the feature here

Two-time GRAMMY award winner, Sabrina Carpenter, has enchanted an audience of millions as a singer, songwriter, actress, and style icon. With her music, she has delivered one anthem after another on stage and in the studio, earning multiple gold and multi-platinum certifications, and performing to sold-out crowds worldwide. On-screen, she has generated mega-fandom through starring roles on television and film. She is signed to Island Records, where she debuted her acclaimed Gold-certified fifth studio album, emails i can’t send, which appeared on many “Best Of 2022” lists, including Rolling Stone and Billboard. The album features her hit single “Feather,” which went #1 at Top 40 Radio, earning Sabrina her first #1. Her sold-out emails i can’t send tour took her to North America, Europe, Asia and Brazil, and she recently served as direct support for Taylor Swift in Latin America, Australia, and Singapore on the Eras Tour. In April, Sabrina made her Coachella debut and was one of the most talked-about artists of the festival. Ahead of her Coachella debut, she released her single “Espresso,” which quickly climbed the charts. Upon release, Pitchfork declared “Espresso” as “in pole position to be this year’s song of the summer,” and The New York Times heralded the single as the song ready to “propel her to the next level”. Since its release, “Espresso” has gone on to reach #1 on the UK & Australian singles charts, Top 5 in the US, and #1 on Spotify globally, where it reached over 200M streams within its first month. Her second single, “Please Please Please,” was released in June and shot straight up to the top of the charts. The single hit #1 on Spotify’s Global and US charts, #1 on Apple Music, and debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 before claiming the #1 spot a week later and went #1 at US Pop Radio. Sabrina made her Saturday Night Live debut in May on the season finale where she performed “Espresso” and “Feather/Nonsense.” In August, she released her highly anticipated sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet. The album was instantly met with an outpouring of critical acclaim from the likes of the New York Times, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Variety, and many more. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, making it the 3rd biggest first week debut in the US in 2024, and became only the second album that year to spend its first three weeks atop the list. Short n’ Sweet also topped the charts around the world, reaching #1 in UK, Canada, Australia, Spain, and France. The album earned Sabrina an impressive six GRAMMY nominations as a first-time nominee. Short n’ Sweet took home the GRAMMY Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and Sabrina also won the “Best Pop Solo Performance” GRAMMY Award for the album’s lead single “Espresso.” She made her debut at the 67th GRAMMY Awards with a captivating performance of “Espresso/Please Please Please.” Last Fall, Sabrina wrapped the 33 date North American leg of her monumental sold-out Short n’ Sweet Tour and recently wrapped the sold-out European leg. Later this year, Sabrina will return for a second North America leg that includes six shows at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and five shows at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Gigi Perez Announces Folk-Pop Tour ‘At The Beach, In Every Life’ With Fall Dates

0

Continuing a banner year earmarked by breakout moments and critical acclaim, Platinum-certified Cuban-American singer, songwriter, and producer Gigi Perez will hit the road this fall on her “At The Beach, In Every Life” Tour. The announcement includes dates in Boston, Philly, Charlotte, Oakland, and will conclude on October 21 in Los Angeles, CA at The Wiltern. Presale tickets and VIP packages go live on Wednesday, June 4 at 10am local time with all tickets going on sale Friday, June 6 at 10am local time. Sign up for early access to presale tickets at https://shop.gigiperezmusic.com/pages/tour

Upholding her commitment to mental health, Gigi has pledged $1 dollar from every ticket sold to support Backline- a non-profit that connects music industry professionals and their families with mental health and wellness resources.

Perez will be touring in support of her unanimously praised debut album, At The Beach, In Every Life, available now via Island Records. At The Beach, In Every Life has accelerated her rapid rise. Beyond major pieces in Rolling Stone and more, The New York Times recently profiled her in an extensive feature and spotlighted the LP as “a tribute to her lost sister, and an attempt to make sense of a few rudderless years.” Billboard noted the record “finds Perez navigating love, grief, and self-possession.” People spoke to her and raved, “Within the album’s 12 poetic tracks, Perez-who came out as a lesbian at 17- explores her relationship with sexuality, religion, and love with a Jeff Buckley-meets-Alanis Morissette-like flair.” It’s no wonder Holler called her a “folk-leaning prodigy,” and Variety attested, “She’s a versatile and powerful singer,” going on to predict, “With that kind of range in songwriting and sound, it seems Gigi Perez is just getting started.”

These twelve tracks traverse a living and breathing soundscape stitched together by unfaded memories and true confessions of loss, lust, heartbreak, sorrow, anxiety, joy, and, ultimately healing. Among many highlights, upbeat strumming flows through “Sugar Water” with wavy strings and swooning harmonies. Reaching for emotional clarity, she proclaims, “It’s hard to ever feel intact. It’s hard to never want it back.” On “Normalcy,” guitar comes into focus out of the haze as her high register warbles, “I guess it’s been nice hearing from you.”

A pulsating beat evocative of old-school industrial surges on the interlude “Survivor’s Guilt.” Echoes of minor chords boost her vocals during “Please Be Rude.” Bringing the audience into the moment, she recalls, “I stared at you the way I do when I want something else from you.” The title track, “At The Beach, In Every Life,” encapsulates all of these feelings-like tucking away a message in a bottle and waiting for it to find its island. A swinging rhythm seethes, and she promises, “If my dreams come up empty and I wash up on the shore. You would find me at the beach in every life, through every door.”

This passionate, poetic, and powerful body of work opens up her world; holding nothing back, she processes the aftermath of losing her beloved sister, nostalgically recalls her childhood by the beach in Florida, wrestles with faith, belief, and religion, and grows accustomed to love. She not only recorded the album in the cozy confines of her home studio in Royal Palm Beach, but she also served as its Executive Producer, helming the entire vision. Providing a sense of cohesion, real voice memos from Gigi’s late sister Celene thread together the record’s themes and stories.

The buzzing singer-songwriter, a New York/New Jersey native raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, made her debut on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Sailor Song.” The single made its debut on the chart in August, where it continued to climb for a total of 39 weeks and global streams have surpassed 1 billion. The song has also reached Top 5 on Spotify’s US charts, Top 10 on Spotify’s Global chart, and TOP 5 at AAA Radio.

In less than a year, Gigi is at the forefront of culture on her own terms. Rolling Stone touted her among “2025 Pop Acts to Watch,” asserting, “Gigi Perez is on track to become a household name this year.” Billboard chronicled her rise, placing her among its “10 LGBTQ+ Artists to Watch in 2025,” going on to predict, “Perez is on the precipice of having an even bigger breakthrough in 2025,” while BBC put it best, “And with that ability to reach people in their most vulnerable moments, it won’t be long before Gigi sees her name tattooed on many more arms.” In February, Gigi made her debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC with a stunning rendition of “Sailor Song.” HOLLER. professed, “Gigi Perez’s captivating performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon consolidates her position as one of the most exciting new voices in the folk-pop genre, with the sense of anticipation continuing to sky-rocket…” She also took the TODAY Show stage, leading up to the album release, to perform “Sailor Song” once again.

Impressively now averaging over 30 million monthly listeners on Spotify, inciting tastemaker applause, and selling out shows, it’s just the beginning for Gigi Perez.
