Dua Lipa Captured 92 Shows and 5 Continents, Now ‘Live From Mexico’ Brings It All Home

0

The Radical Optimism Tour was one of the biggest live runs of the decade, and Dua Lipa is marking its finale properly. ‘Dua Lipa (Live From Mexico),’ a live album and concert film recorded across 3 sold-out nights at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros, arrives this week via Warner Records.

The concert film premieres May 21st at 6 pm BST/1 pm ET on Dua’s YouTube channel. The live album hits DSPs May 22nd, with physical copies shipping June 5th.

The Radical Optimism Tour closed out 92 shows across 5 continents, including back-to-back sold-out dates at Wembley Stadium, with over 1.75 million tickets sold. Mexico City was the finale, and the energy in this recording reflects exactly what that means.

One of the standout moments: a duet with Fher Olvera of Maná on the band’s classic 1992 hit “Oye Mi Amor,” part of a broader tradition Dua maintained throughout the tour of performing bespoke covers in the local language of each city. Across the full run, she performed in 9 languages, including Spanish, Italian, French, Czech, Dutch, German, Portuguese, and Albanian.

“This tour has been the most beautiful and fulfilling experience of my career so far,” Dua says in the concert film’s trailer. “You’ve built something bigger than a show. You’ve built a family and I feel that every single night.”

The 21-track live album captures the full scope of a set that pulls from across her catalog, from “Don’t Start Now” and “Levitating” through ‘Radical Optimism’ cuts like “Training Season,” “Illusion,” and “Houdini.” It’s a document of a live show operating at the highest level.

Billy Idol Gets the Lifetime Achievement Award at the AMAs and Then Performs His Greatest Hits

0

The 52nd American Music Awards just got a whole lot more interesting. Billy Idol, 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and one of rock’s most enduring figures, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s ceremony, live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, May 25th at 8 pm ET on CBS and Paramount+.

What makes this one count double: Idol isn’t just accepting an award. He’s performing a medley of his biggest hits, his first time on the AMAs stage as a performer ever, and his first appearance on the show since presenting in 2004. “Dancing with Myself,” “White Wedding,” “Rebel Yell,” “Eyes Without a Face,” “Cradle of Love” — the catalog speaks for itself, and seeing it performed live in that setting is the kind of television moment worth watching for.

Idol joins an exclusive list. Previous Lifetime Achievement Award recipients at the AMAs include Diana Ross and Rod Stewart. The recognition reflects nearly 50 years of impact, from his early years fronting Generation X between 1977 and 1981 through his landmark solo run alongside guitarist Steve Stevens, and straight through to 2025’s ‘Dream Into It’ on Dark Horse Records.

This year also brought ‘Billy Idol Should Be Dead,’ the definitive documentary about his life and career, making 2026 one of the most significant years of a career already full of them.

The 52nd AMAs features a stacked night of performances from International Artist Award of Excellence recipient Karol G, Hootie & The Blowfish, Keith Urban, Maluma, Teddy Swims, Twenty One Pilots, Teyana Taylor, Riley Green, Katseye, Sombr, and more. Queen Latifah hosts from the largest venue in the show’s history.

Taylor Swift leads the nominations with 8, followed by Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, and Sombr with 7 each. Fan voting remains open for Social Song of the Year and Tour of the Year through the first 30 minutes of the broadcast.

The 52nd American Music Awards airs Monday, May 25th at 8 pm ET on CBS and Paramount+.

Scotty McCreery Marks 15 Years With Seven No. 1 Hits, Four New Recordings, and Josh Turner

0

Fifteen years in, and Scotty McCreery has the receipts. The multi-platinum country hitmaker has announced ’15,’ a retrospective collection arriving July 17th via Triple Tigers Records, featuring 9 of his biggest hits alongside 4 new recordings, including a full-circle duet that ties directly back to where everything started.

The story begins in 2011, when a 16-year-old McCreery walked into his American Idol audition and sang Josh Turner’s “Your Man” a cappella in front of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler. Fifteen years later, McCreery has re-recorded the song with Turner himself, closing a loop that spans more than a decade of friendship, mentorship, and mutual respect.

“Getting to know him has been something little Scotty would never have imagined,” McCreery says of Turner. “Having the honor of recording ‘Your Man’ with him is a moment I’ll never get over.” Turner, for his part, is equally warm about it: “He came on the scene singing that song and has had a great career ever since. Of course, I take credit for all of his success.” The new version of “Your Man” featuring Turner is out now.

The timing carries extra weight. Turner’s album ‘Your Man,’ which featured his original recording of the title track, turns 20 this year. That kind of symmetry doesn’t happen by accident.

’15’ contains all 7 of McCreery’s No. 1 hits: “Five More Minutes,” “This Is It,” “In Between,” “You Time,” “Damn Strait,” “Cab in a Solo,” and “Bottle Rockets” featuring Hootie & The Blowfish, his recent platinum-certified chart-topper and first No. 1 in Canada. The vinyl and CD versions also include “See You Tonight,” his first Top 10 hit, making its first appearance on a physical release.

The 3 additional new cuts round out the package with genuine meaning. “Hello Darlin’,” the Conway Twitty classic McCreery has performed live for years, gets its proper studio treatment. Kris Kristofferson’s “Why Me, Lord?” reflects how McCreery feels about the last 15 years. And “Been a Good Run,” a new original co-written by McCreery, Rodney Clawson, Monty Criswell, and Derek George, brings genuine nostalgia to a project already loaded with it.

’15’ is available on vinyl, CD, and digitally on July 17th. Autographed vinyl and CDs are available at ScottyMcCreery.com and Talk Shop Live.

’15’ Track Listing:

See You Tonight (Scotty McCreery/Ashley Gorley/Zack Crowell) – available on vinyl and CD only

“Staging a Mellon Collie-themed show is something we’ve discussed for over a decade, and finally the stars have aligned and exactly on the terms I’d set: which was to build a special night around its most enduring aspirations and ideas,” Billy Corgan said.  “With set 1 of the Rats In A Cage tour exclusively featuring Mellon Collie songs in a highly theatrical setting, and set 2 drawing from the rest of our canon so that there’s a decent amount of variance as to what songs we’ll play from night to night: from our first in ‘Gish’ to our last in ‘Aghori Mhori Mei’.”

Last night, after dropping hints for several days, the band hosted a Requiem For ZERO at the Hollywood Legion Theater in Los Angeles. The intimate hall allowed 300 guests to witness the funeral for ZERO, the avatar Billy Corgan first inhabited 30 years ago on Mellon Collie.

Before the tour kicks off, The Smashing Pumpkins will headline their hometown’s famed Lollapalooza on July 31st for the first time in over 30 years, marking their long-awaited return to the festival since its touring iteration in 1994. Then, in September, the Rats In A Cage tour opens in Columbus. OH, before visiting multiple major markets throughout America and Canada. With the Pumpkins’ shows forever known for delivering raw performances on an epic emotional scale, the Rats In A Cage tour and its journey through the decades promises to showcase the kaleidoscopic range the band has wielded from Gish all the way to their most recent album release,  Aghori Mhori Mei.

The Rats In A Cage Tour follows a multi-faceted 2025 anniversary blowout for Mellon Collie, including a deluxe vinyl reissue featuring previously unheard live recordings from the world tour supporting the album, a special reimagining of Mellon Collie’s iconic hits and beloved fan-favorites onstage with the Lyric Opera Of Chicago, and culinary collaborations with Vosges Haut-Chocolat and Erewhon. Released the same year as Machina/The Machines Of God’s 25th anniversary reissue, the Mellon Collie celebration continued what has been a furiously productive decade for The Smashing Pumpkins, with a flood of inspiration producing 2020’s Cyr, 2022/2023’s triple-album Atum: A Rock Opera In Three Parts, and 2024’s Aghori Mhori Mei.

Alongside all of his Pumpkins activity, the ever-prolific Corgan has remained busy in other ventures as well. Entering its second year, his widely praised podcast The Magnificent Others has recently featured candid conversations about creativity and legacy with Courtney Love, Billy Idol, Nancy Wilson, and Yungblud. Corgan also made his Coachella debut, joining Sombr onstage for a surprise performance. Most recently, in his capacity as president of the National Wrestling Alliance, Corgan led the hallowed athletic institution to a landmark deal with Comet TV, bringing NWA back to free broadcast TV nationwide for the first time since the early ‘90s. The new chapter of NWA dawned on May 1st, marking the latest moment in a standout year for Corgan and the Pumpkins.

Luke Spiller Steps Out Solo With the Quietly Devastating “When I Die Will I Miss Living”

0

Luke Spiller has a new solo single out, and it arrived the way only the best songs do: through a moment on screen that stops you cold. “When I Die Will I Miss Living” debuted during a pivotal scene on NBC’s Chicago Med before landing on all streaming platforms, and it’s already making an impression.

The origin story is worth telling. Spiller wrote the song during a winter visit to his parents in Devon, drawing from a short poem he’d drafted after reading Billy Collins’ ‘Whale Day.’ “The way he can take a thought or moment so mundane or trivial and create feelings and images in the mind really moved me,” Spiller says. “He’s poetic but equally conversational, something I’ve always admired, especially when it’s applied to music.”

From poem to performance, the path moved quickly. Spiller began playing the song live on his solo tour, caught the attention of a Chicago Med producer in the audience, and recorded it with collaborators Jon Levine and Nick Perri, both of whom contributed to his forthcoming debut solo album.

That album, ‘Love Will Probably Kill Me Before Cigarettes and Wine,’ is described as an epically cinematic sonic expedition, drawing parallels to a James Bond score and documenting the love, heartbreak, and beauty Spiller encountered after relocating to Los Angeles. It’s a departure, and an intentional one.

“It’s a different direction for me but that’s a great thing,” Spiller says. “I always want to keep moving forward. As Gordon Lightfoot once said, ‘motion is the potion.'”

The track itself is a quiet revelation. Where The Struts operate in glam-rock swagger and arena-sized anthems, “When I Die Will I Miss Living” leans inward, emotionally precise and cinematically spacious. It’s Spiller writing as a poet first and a rock frontman second.

Spiller has spent over a decade building The Struts into one of rock’s most electrifying acts. Since 2015’s ‘Everybody Wants,’ the band has stacked hits like “Could Have Been Me,” “Kiss This,” and “Body Talks,” toured with The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses, and Mötley Crüe, and earned one of rock’s most memorable endorsements when Dave Grohl called them “the best opening band we’ve ever had.”

The solo project started from a different creative place entirely. Spiller built these songs starting with only lyrics and a title, writing as poetry before the music arrived. That process shaped everything, and “When I Die Will I Miss Living” is the first real window into what that sounds like.

‘Love Will Probably Kill Me Before Cigarettes and Wine’ is coming. This single makes the wait worthwhile.
