Tennessee Launches “Sound Sites” to Make Travel Accessible Through Songwriter-Crafted Lyrics for the Visually Impaired

0

The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development (TDTD) is redefining accessibility through the power of music, partnering with songwriters in an industry-first initiative to enhance the online travel experience for blind and visually impaired visitors. This groundbreaking program called “Sound Sites” replaces standard image descriptions known as alt-text on TNVacation.com with beautifully crafted song lyrics, allowing travelers using screen readers to experience Tennessee’s landscapes, culture and spirit through poetic, immersive storytelling.

Leveraging one of Tennessee’s most iconic assets—its legendary songwriters—this initiative creates a richer and more evocative way for visually impaired travelers to connect with the state. Instead of generic, uninspired alt-text such as “image of a mountain” or “street at night,” visitors will hear lyrical descriptions that bring Tennessee’s scenic beauty to life.

More than seven million Americans have a non-corrective visual disability, including more than one million who are blind, according to the National Federation of the Blind. That number is expected to double by 2050. Recognizing the need for more meaningful and engaging online experiences, Tennessee is going beyond traditional accessibility standards. While accessibility standards have traditionally focused on functionality, Sound Sites elevates them to an art form, using human creativity to ensure all travelers can experience Tennessee with wonder and excitement.

“Music has the power to connect us all, regardless of how we experience the world,” said Billy Montana, a Tennessee-based, award-winning country songwriter known for hits recorded by Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw. “Sound Sites is a beautiful example of how we can use creativity to make travel more accessible and welcoming to all. I’m honored to be a part of a project  helping people feel more connected to Tennessee and to each other.”

Montana is one of 12 talented songwriters bringing Sound Sites to life, joining an all-star lineup that includes country music icon Dolly Parton, Brooks & Dunn’s Kix Brooks and Grammy-nominated songwriter Michael Farren. The initiative also features a diverse range of artists, from Americana storyteller Hilary Williams—daughter of Hank Williams Jr.—and indie-rock powerhouse Nicole Atkins to Nashville hitmakers David Tolliver, Adam Wood, Brian Davis, Thomas Edwards and Jack Settle. JP Williams, a celebrated blind singer-songwriter, brings an especially meaningful perspective to the project, helping to ensure that Tennessee’s landscapes aren’t just seen, but truly felt.

With Sound Sites, Tennessee is laying the foundation for a new kind of travel experience—one that will continue to grow, evolve and connect people in new ways.

The program follows the success of Tennessee’s Colorblind Viewfinder initiative, which introduced specialized scenic viewfinders that allow colorblind visitors to experience the full spectrum of fall foliage. With Sound Sites, Tennessee continues to expand what accessible and engaging travel looks like, proving that the state isn’t just seen—it’s felt.

“We want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to experience Tennessee’s unmatched beauty, including the millions of visually impaired travelers,” said Mark Ezell, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. “Tennessee’s deep musical roots make this campaign a natural fit, and we’re proud to champion travel experiences that embrace everyone. This is just the beginning of a meaningful, ongoing effort to connect visitors to the beauty of our great state.”

Hundreds of images are featured across TDTD’s digital properties and social channels, marking the start of an ongoing collaboration with songwriters and members of the blind community to enhance descriptions. The state is also developing best practices to share with tourism partners, aiming to improve accessibility across destination, lodging, and attraction websites throughout Tennessee.

Travelers can explore the Sound Sites experience now at TNvacation.com/for-all, where song-driven descriptions bring Tennessee’s landscapes to life in an entirely new way.

Why Growers Still Love Acapulco Gold in the Feminized Era

0

By Mitch Rice

Few strains carry the weight of legend quite like Acapulco Gold. That signature golden sparkle and feel-good buzz gave it a name that growers and users still talk about today. Even in an age crowded with flashy new hybrids, this strain stands apart.

Thanks to feminized options, Acapulco Gold feminized cannabis seeds are more accessible and productive than ever before. Here is why this 60s great continues to rule the cannabis scene.

The Golden History

Let us start with how this strain came to be and its undisputed rise to fame.

Origins in the Guerrero Mountains

Acapulco Gold has its roots nestled in the Guerrero mountain range where the warm air, constant winds, and unrelenting sun shaped it. Through this organic development, generations of informal cultivation honed its appearance and effects. The result was a plant with unmistakable brightness, both in look and high.

As it made its way into American hands in the 1960s, it quickly earned near-mythical status. Growers and smokers praised its golden strands and energizing buzz. Gary Tovar once said the buds dried under Pacific breezes, adding a golden touch that nature and folklore both helped preserve.

A Symbol of an Era

In the 1960s, the counterculture ignited a massive cultural shift across the West. As the younger generation stood up to reject rigid rules and fight for equality, cannabis became a powerful symbol of freedom and resistance during these defining moments.

Acapulco Gold was passed around like gold itself. It lit up music festivals, living rooms, and campuses with its brilliant high and energizing effect. Story is told that this strain became so revered that Columbia University students had a smuggling route set up from Acapulco to New York City due to its scarcity from high demand.

As the movement aged, so did the strain’s reputation—but it never faded. Acapulco Gold earned its place in the cannabis hall of fame, and now with feminized seed options, it’s more accessible than ever. What once sparked a generation now fuels a new wave of intentional growers.

Landrace Award Winning Legacy

Back in 1977, High Times named this strain one of the top five in the world. This was a bold move that recognized its strength and cultural impact. Decades later, in 2010, it took home a Cannabis Cup, proving it could still outshine the newer hybrids.

Fast forward to today, and Acapulco Gold still holds its crown as a true-to-bones landrace sativa. Its genetics remain virtually untouched, carrying the same spirit first coaxed out of Guerrero’s rugged hills.

The Allure of Acapulco Gold

Let us get to the why of Acapulco Gold’s rise to stardom and its continued never ending iconic status in cannabis circles.

Feminized Seeds

Think of feminized Acapulco Gold as a vintage classic that has been fine-tuned for today’s growers. Without altering its genetic composition through breeding, this strain is now consistent and reliable in the grow room. That means that it is still packed with all the golden cannabis experience charm that made it a household name.

Every seed delivers flowering potential, making the grow more productive from start to finish. Furthermore, with no males, it means more energy goes into usable buds. The end result is bigger yields, a smoother workflow, and the same legendary smoke.

Unique Aroma and Flavor

Acapulco Gold’s aroma is as iconic as its name. It is sharp, spicy, and impossible to miss. The best part is that when well cured, the smoke is smooth and not abrasive on your throat or lungs.

Here is the trio of its most dominant terpenes and how they combine for a delightful smoke.

  • Caryophyllene leads with its signature peppery hit. It is warm from the word go and adds a subtle bite that is distinctive on the nose and tongue.
  • Myrcene, on the other hand, adds a gentle mix of earth that is reminiscent of forest dirt and baked soil. It takes the intensity of caryophyllene’s notes and offers a smooth base to tie this experience together.
  • Limonene cuts through with citrus clarity that’s stimulating yet easy on the palate. Many users say it keeps the flavours zesty and layered with a balanced and enjoyable edge.

The Potent Sativa High

When it comes to old-school sativa effects with real staying power, few strains come close. At 18% THC, Acapulco Gold is not a lightweight, and it shows from the very first puff. It strikes with a penetrating clarity that most seasoned cannabis enthusiasts will applaud.

Get ready for a high that rushes in to turn up your creative dial and make your world a little sunnier. Then, as things mellow, you’re not left feeling foggy, but instead, you get this really nice, clear focus. That’s the kind of smooth yet potent experience that cemented Acapulco Gold’s legendary status.

Positive Growing Traits

Thinking of growing Acapulco Gold cannabis seeds? Here is what you can expect from this strain in the grow room.

Growing Ease and Resilience:

Rooted in pure landrace genetics, Acapulco Gold feminized seeds now come with stronger resilience. Careful breeding has improved its tolerance to pests, mold, and minor stress. If you have some growing experience, you’ll find it a deeply rewarding strain.

Manageable Structure and Size with Training

Acapulco Gold tends to stretch more vertically thanks to its pure sativa lineage. Indoors you can look forward to plants of 110 cm height on average while outdoors it hits 200 cm. While this lanky structure promotes better airflow and light penetration, growers in limited spaces can employ early and consistent training to tame it.

Flowering Time and Style

Acapulco Gold seeds require a bit of patience, with indoor bloom times typically running 9 to 10 weeks. Grown outdoors, these photoperiod plants reach full maturity by mid to late October, right when cooler temperatures start to roll in. The payoff is tall, nugget-heavy sativa colas that showcase everything growers love about classic landrace vigor.

Yield Potential

With good indoor control, Acapulco Gold rewards growers with about 480 grams per square meter. Outdoors, it has the muscle to reach 1500 grams per plant when nurtured properly.

Conclusion

Acapulco Gold proves that legends never fade—they evolve. Its feminized version makes this historic powerhouse more accessible while keeping the spirit alive. Whether you’re after timeless strains or looking to explore more legendary hemp seed varieties on cannabizseed.com, the next classic is just a grow away.

All of this experience prepared him for a major moment in 2022 when he appeared on DJ Khaled’s blockbuster “God Did” [feat. Rick RossLil Wayne, Jay-Z, John Legend, & Fridayy]. It cracked the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, earned a Gold certification from the RIAA, and garnered three GRAMMY Award nominations in the categories of “Song of the Year,” “Best Rap Song,” and “Best Rap Performance.” He lent his voice to Lil Baby’s Platinum-certified “Forever,” which vaulted into the Top 10 of the Hot 100. He emerged as the rare dynamo equally comfortable on a track with either Swedish House Mafia, DJ Snake, and The Chainsmokers or Will Smith, Glorilla, and Chlöe. Not to mention, he expanded his discography as a producer and songwriter collaborating behind-the-scenes with everyone from Lil Baby and Chris Brown to Lil Tjay and Rod Wave. In 2025, he makes a passionate, personal, and powerful statement on his epic double LP, Some Days I’m Good, Some Days I’m Not [Def Jam Recordings], which he helmed as the primary writer and producer as well.

RHEI’s Made for Music Transforms Audience Growth for Music Companies With Fully Managed Agentic AI

0

Music rightsholders have barely scratched the surface of their audience potential. While labels, distributors, and major music companies have mastered distribution for official content, their strategies are often focused on getting assets live rather than embedding in the communities that drive culture. They may push tracks and videos to platforms, but they lack an always-on presence, missing the chance to build sustained engagement beyond the release cycle. Instead of leading conversations and shaping trends, they find themselves reacting to them, leaving superfans, niche audiences, and new revenue opportunities untapped.

RHEI, a leading tech company that builds AI to amplify human creativity, scale its audience, and enhance its impact, has the perfect answer to these ongoing challenges. Made for Music is the first comprehensive, fully managed AI solution for managing audio-visual IP in tune with music companies’ business goals. The solution is now available to all enterprise customers, having already won over music industry innovators, including major labels and independents such as Symphonic Distribution, MNRK, and Lyrical Lemonade—and helped some of them increase revenue by nearly 300%.

Thanks to Made’s unparalleled, carefully trained AI agents, Made for Music builds deeply engaged fanbases that drive exponential growth for artists and labels across digital platforms. Based on this fertile human-AI connection, the Made for Music team then supports companies as they implement new strategies and break new content ground.

“For too long, music companies have been forced to react to shifting digital landscapes rather than define them,” explains Shahrzad Rafati, CEO of RHEI. “AI is fundamentally rewriting that equation. With RHEI’s solutions, labels and artists can transcend the limitations of traditional content strategies, unlocking a level of scale, personalization, and growth that was previously unimaginable. We’re not distributing content; we’re building highly engaged and pinpoint-targeted communities fully catered to what fans want, enabling music companies to harness the full potential of their vast catalog.”

Made for Music can free teams’ creativity and unlock surprising scale for music companies, by letting them:

  • Discover unseen riches in massive catalogs, so that they can jump into and create new platform trends;
  • Craft new audience-first channels and strategies designed to expand their music’s reach;
  • Level up monetization and revenue;
  • Manage fans and communities at scale and reward superfans for their engagement by highlighting frequent commenters and engagement patterns;
  • Create key building blocks of content such as metadata, thumbnails, and compelling titles with unprecedented finesse and speed.

Made’s fully managed enterprise service has already garnered impressive results for partners, including:

  • 291% Growth in Monthly Revenue – RHEI’s AI optimization strategies have led to triple-digit revenue increases for niche-focused music channels.
  • 3.7x more Views Per Viewer – Superfan and audience-first channels foster deeper engagement, building habitual viewership and stronger fan connections.
  • Tens of Billions of Views Generated – RHEI’s content and audience strategy has dramatically expanded reach for artists across multiple genres.

The ultimate result: Superior content performance and more time for deep creativity and strategic thinking for partners’ human teams.

Made for Music’s early partners agree: “At Symphonic, we are continuously evolving to meet and exceed the needs of artists and labels, and expanding further into media and entertainment is a key part of that journey,” says Jorge Brea, CEO of Symphonic. “RHEI’s solutions are helping us scale in new ways, enhancing how we connect music with audiences across digital platforms. By pairing their tech, solutions and deep industry expertise with our own, we’re seeing more and more opportunities for discovery, engagement, and growth in key areas of our business.”

“MNRK is focused on giving our artists every advantage when it comes to visibility, engagement, and growth,” notes Brandon Squar, SVP, General Manager at MNRK Music Group. “We signed on with RHEI because of their extensive expertise and tech solutions to drive the best content performance, and reach fans effectively and authentically wherever they consume. This partnership will further enable us to keep pushing boundaries while making sure our artists’ music connects with fans in the most impactful way possible.”

Made makes this impact via its proactive and personalized AI agents that augment human creativity. Made is built on the solid data bedrock RHEI has gathered over two decades. To turn this data into action, RHEI draws on its expertise in machine learning, data analysis, and AI to know exactly how and what to build to support creators and creative teams.

“Agents are proactive, personalized, and multifaceted,” Rafati reflects. “They prove truly useful if you know the industry and roles you’re building them for. Our deep expertise in music and petabytes of data mean we’re able to not only serve our large clients nimbly in a fast-moving landscape, but also enable them to lead the augmented creativity era alongside us as they connect more deeply with their fans.”
