In 1978, WIS-TV’s DANCE brought disco fever to Columbia, SC, with a Soul Train-style showcase of the era’s hottest moves. On November 18, the Commodores, featuring Lionel Richie, made a special guest appearance, lighting up the studio with their signature sound. Though DANCE was canceled in 1979, its legacy lives on as a cherished piece of local music history.
