Goth metal titans Paradise Lost have officially released their eagerly awaited album, ‘Ascension’, which is out now from Nuclear Blast Records. The album was preceded by the debut of their riveting third single, “Tyrants Serenade,” a powerful, four plus minute goth metal opus that immediately establishes itself as a bleak new staple in the band’s celebrated catalogue. The track expertly melds crunchy riffs and soaring guitar melodies with juxtaposing anthemic clean and harsh vocals.
Vocalist Nick Holmes offered context to the song’s themes, saying, “Observing the death of an individual, and subsequently, how the transition of seasons evokes fond memories. The God of Malevolence serves as an internal voice to dismantle those cherished memories and reintroduces the initial anguish of loss.” This memorable new track is accompanied by a stunning video, directed by longtime collaborator Ash Pears, known for his work with bands like Host and Katatonia. With the album now available everywhere, fans can fully immerse themselves in the emotional depth and sonic power of Paradise Lost’s latest work.
