BLOG POST:
Blues legend Buddy Guy will celebrate his 90th birthday on July 30 with a sweeping North American tour that stretches through the summer and into early fall. The run serves as both a milestone celebration and a victory lap for one of the most influential guitarists in modern music. The announcement arrives as Guy continues to command stages with the same fire and finesse that defined his decades-long career.
The tour begins July 15 in Toronto at Massey Hall and winds through major cities including Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, New Orleans, Austin, and Dallas. September dates bring Guy to Los Angeles for a performance at the Hollywood Bowl, followed by stops in San Diego, Chandler, Albuquerque, Denver, and Tulsa. The schedule places him in many of the country’s most storied venues as he marks nine decades.
The birthday celebration follows Guy’s recent cameo in the film ‘Sinners,’ which has earned 16 Academy Award nominations ahead of the March ceremony. As he approaches 90, Buddy Guy remains an active and commanding presence, carrying the blues forward one stage at a time.
