San Francisco-based Little Roger and the Goosebumps formed in the 1970s, and with a few stops and starts, they’re still going.
The band is best known for its single “Gilligan’s Island (Stairway)”, a song combining the lyrics to the theme song of the television show Gilligan’s Island with the music of “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin. The band released it as a single in May 1978 on their own Splash Records label, which led to Led Zeppelin’s management threatening a copyright infringement lawsuit against the label. Zep’s attorneys demanding that all copies be destroyed, and the band withdrew the song, seeing their legal resources as inadequate.
During a 2004 interview on National Public Radio, Robert Plant referred to the tune as his favorite cover of “Stairway to Heaven.”

Garbage have today announced their brand-new seventh studio album No Gods No Masters, set for release on 11 June Via Stunvolume/Infectious Music. The band have also shared the track The Men Who Rule the World and its accompanying video – the first new music to be released from the album. The video was made by Chilean film director, animator and painter Javi.MiAmor.
The Men Who Rule the World is an incendiary indictment and call to arms, a typically powerful sonic display that sets the tone for the band’s searing new record. A critique of the rise of capitalist short-sightedness, racism, sexism and misogyny across the world, the track is a forceful protest song and a clear statement of intent from a band who still believe in the power of dissent.
“This is our seventh record, the significant numerology of which affected the DNA of its content: the seven virtues, the seven sorrows, and the seven deadly sins,” says Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson of the band’s ferocious new album No Gods No Masters and its twists and turns from capitalism and lust to loss and grief. “It was our way of trying to make sense of how fucking nuts the world is and the astounding chaos we find ourselves in. It’s the record we felt that we had to make at this time.”
Produced by Garbage and long-time collaborator Billy Bush, the seeds for No Gods No Masters were planted in summer 2018 in the desert in Palm Springs. The quartet convened at a home belonging to one of Steve Marker’s relatives and sketched out the skeleton of the album over two weeks, jamming, experimenting and feeling the songs out. They then took those demos and went their separate ways, before reconvening in Los Angeles to finish the record.
Garbage are releasing a deluxe CD/digital version of No Gods No Masters, which features covers of classic tracks, including David Bowie’s Starman and Because the Night, written by Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen. Garbage’s take on Because the Night also features US punk rock outfit Screaming Females.
The deluxe album includes rare Garbage tracks No Horses, On Fire, Time Will Destroy Everything, Girls Talk, The Chemicals and Destroying Angels, the latter three of which feature Brody Dalle, Brian Aubert and John Doe and Exene Cervenka respectively.
The album vinyl is neon green as standard with Garbage also releasing a limited white vinyl via their official artist store and HMV, as well as an exclusive limited pink vinyl as part of this year’s RSD Drops on 12 June. The band will be touring the UK with Blondie this November. Full dates are listed below.

Intimate, never-before-seen 8mm film footage of John Lennon and Yoko Ono Lennon captured at home in 1968 has been paired together with the brand-new Ultimate Mix of “Look At Me” for a thrilling new video. Filmed by camera operator William Wareing and his crew, the video features black and white and color footage on “home movie” Standard 8 film filmed between takes of John and Yoko’s films, “Film No. 5” (“Smile”) (conceived by Yoko) and “Two Virgins” (conceived by John and Yoko). The unearthed film reels from the Lennono archives are presented here for the first time, with the black and white and color footage side-by-side, accompanied by the stunning new mix of “Look At Me,” which is also available to stream.
In the video, released today in 4K via the John Lennon Estate, we get a glimpse into the life of John & Yoko and behind-the-scenes of their film making. We see John playing acoustic guitar in between takes, his drum skin from the Sgt. Pepper’s album cover (designed by Joe Ephgrave) and his psychedelic upright piano (painted by Marijke Koger and Simon Posthuma from Dutch design collective, The Fool), the film crew setting up shots, Yoko dancing around the swimming pool while John plays his steel string and a peek into their domestic life and the undeniable connection that bound them together.

Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter, Olivia Rodrigo, today released her highly-anticipated new original single, “deja vu.” The track is from Olivia’s forthcoming debut album, which will be released on Friday, May 21, 2021.
Complete with sparkling piano melodies, buzzing guitar synths, and Rodrigo’s soaring vocals, “deja vu” further cements her status as the most promising young artist to emerge this year. Written by Rodrigo last fall, the track underscores her songwriting prowess, unique narrative voice, and talent at illustrating complex emotional spaces that often go unexplored in pop music. “deja vu” was also produced by Rodrigo’s frequent collaborator and co-writer, Dan Nigro (Conan Gray, Carly Rae Jepsen, Lewis Capaldi).
“The concept of deja vu has always fascinated me and I thought it would be cool to use it in a song around the complex feelings after a relationship ends,” says Rodrigo. “I started writing and recording ‘deja vu’ last fall and had so much fun creating the different melodies and sonic textures that you hear throughout.”
The official music video for “deja vu,” directed by Allie Avital and co-starring Talia Ryder, made its global broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and across MTV’s global network of channels, as well as on the ViacomCBS Times Square billboard. On January 8, 2021, Rodrigo unveiled her monumental, record-breaking original single, “drivers license,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and held the top spot for eight consecutive weeks. The track has been RIAA Certified 2x Platinum and is the first song this year to be RIAA certified at Gold, Platinum, and double-Platinum. “drivers license” is also No. 1 at Top 40 radio for the fifth consecutive week, with the companion music video amassing over 170 million total views.
Within its first week, “drivers license” garnered over 107M global streams with over 62M streams in the U.S. alone, which is the second largest U.S. audio streaming ever and the largest audio streaming in three years.
Along with debuting at No. 1 across major streaming services, “drivers license” broke the Spotify record for the most single-day streams for a non-holiday song (on January 12) and had the biggest weekly streaming debut for any song globally in Spotify history – beating Rodrigo’s own previously-held record for the most Spotify streams for a song in a week.
“drivers license” broke Global Amazon Music records as well – racking up the most streams in a week for a song debut and the most on-demand streams in a single day, not to mention scoring the most voice requests ever via ‘Alexa’ for a song in one day worldwide.
“drivers license” also broke BTS’ record for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 (eight consecutive weeks) and entered the charts at No. 1 in the U.K., Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Norway, Ireland, New Zealand, and Portugal. The track is now the first song in history to top both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts simultaneously for eight total weeks.
