How To Learn Driving Without Owning A Car

0

By Mitch Rice

A driver’s license is vital when you have responsibilities to move places to work. It’s a piece of legal document that lets you drive your vehicle. You need to pass the written exam test and the actual driving test to get the driver’s license.

Now, you might be wondering if you can learn to drive without owning a car in the first place; it’s absolutely possible. Fear not! Here in the article, we will help you with comprehensive tips that make you test-ready.

Get a learner’s permit

It usually takes months to get the permit, depending on one state to another. Usually, you can get the permit if you visit DMV and DOT websites and take the written test. By the time your written exam comes, prepare yourself with the handbook of notes and guides. Please do not subscribe to the third-party written test preparation services; instead, follow the government’s instructions.

When you pass your written exam, you would need to pass the basic physical test that includes a hearing test, vision test, which are crucial while driving. A visually and hearing impaired is not advised to apply for the test; you could meet unavoidable situations.

After you get a learner’s permit, you might be eager to know what’s next. It’s the Hazard Perception Test; you would need to give the HPT test to advance yourself from learners to P1 license. It’s one of the toughest tests to get through, but the perception test online should help you pass the test easily. It’s free to practice as you will be saving lots of money and time. Through the test, you will be mindful of scanning hazards, selecting safe gaps, and keeping a safe distance in your surroundings.

Get a professional instructor

If you haven’t ever driven a car, you must get an instructor to help you teach how to drive. This step comes second after you get the learner’s permit ready. Professionals know every bit of tips to help you drive better than your friends and relatives. First, you must know the difference between “just driving” and “good driving.” A habit of driving you to learn first becomes your go-to instance for the whole times; thus, learn to drive in a good manner.

You can do Google or Bing search to find the professional instructor around you. It’s their responsibility to teach you how to apply brakes, clutch, and gas pedal at the same time how to reverse, accelerate and look for traffics. Talk with your instructor friendly so that they can address if you have any issue and try to solve it.

Practice with your friends or family

After you are done practicing with an instructor, now you can freely learn to drive with your family and friends. Ask an experienced member of your family to help you with techniques in different road conditions. Driving school has a set of rules and instructions that might not be familiar while driving with passengers.

Ask an experienced member of your family to help you with techniques in different road conditions. Driving school has a set of rules and instructions that might not be familiar while driving with passengers.

After you are done with learning, you would not need a friend; what you’ll need is a driving license. Ask a friend if he could risk giving his car to drive to a newbie; if he believes in your ability, you will learn to drive in no time. While you are driving around, stop the car and look at the road condition. The car wheel behaves differently with different road conditions, and if you apply a hard brake on a slippery road, you might end up jolting the car.

Learn to drive on highways, wet roads, off-roads, and heavy traffic. It would be best if you also are comfortable turning reverse and driving around on narrow roads. If you don’t have easy access to a car, services like Sunshine Coast rentals can give you the flexibility to keep practicing at your own pace without needing to own a vehicle right away.

Take a driving test

At the time you think you are proficient enough to drive, take a driving test. It’s the final learner’s test you are taking to get the document, thus work your way with full confidence.  Most of the driving test has an examiner sitting aside at the passenger’s seat. Most of the case you are required to drive in examiner’s car, but there could be a case where you have your own vehicle to give the test. At the time you can ask for your friend or family.

If possible, schedule the test in the weather possible. You ought not to end up cursing weather in case you fail the test. Confidence is the key while you take your driving test. You will be encountered with several road conditions that might surprise you; take a deep breath and gently drive your way through those conditions.

While you take a driving test, examiners are looking for ways to think you are not ready to hold the license. During the test, listen carefully and read all the instructions. You are required to follow traffic lights and signals. Followings are the boosters that help you feel at ease while taking a driving test.

  1. Inspect the condition of the car, adjust mirrors and make sure every light is lit properly.
  2. Learn to feel the position of wheels; this is extremely important as you won’t be seeing wheels while you drive. At the time of parking and driving through potholes, knowing the position of the wheel helps you drive smoothly.
  3. Know parking techniques. There are two conventional ways you can park your car; these are named perpendicular parking and parallel parking. While you park, make sure you don’t scratch any part of the car.
  4. Stop using clutch time and again. Learners have a habit of pressing the clutch pedal every time they want to slow the vehicle; it may damage the plates. Use clutch only at the time you shift gears.
  5. Also, do not brake hard when you drive through a wet road. Look at the road closely and react to the condition. If you encounter puddles along the road, slow down the vehicle and smoothly go through the holes and puddles.
  6. Look for vehicles in front of you while you are in heavy traffic. Keep a meter or two distance when you are stuck in traffic; that should mitigate the risk of being in an accident.
  7. Do not turn wheels before making the right or the left turn.

It’s exciting as well as dangerous driving behind the wheel. Learning to drive a car is not that hard as it seems; it just requires a clear mindset and confidence. You can either rent a car or ask your friends and family member to lend the car to learn to drive. Particularly you don’t need to have a car by yourself.

Entertainment Icon Snoop Dogg Announces National Distribution of His Very Own INDOGGO Gin

0

On the heels of a successful limited launch last Fall, Entertainment Icon and Hip-Hop legend Snoop Dogg has announced his INDOGGO Gin is now available nationwide. INDOGGO, crafted with a laid-back California style, is the ultimate remix of seven premium botanicals infused with all-natural strawberry flavor.

INDOGGO was developed by the King of “Gin & Juice,” in partnership with Keenan Towns and Marc Weisberg, Co-Founders of Trusted Spirits, and in partnership with Prestige Beverage Group. Most recently, Emmy nominated actor, host and producer Terrence ‘J’ Jenkins joined the team as the company’s first creative director. Additionally, the gin has been recognized with a Double Gold for both Taste & Design from the 2020 Proof Awards.

“I am so proud and humbled by the response INDOGGO has received since its introduction,” said Snoop Dogg. “I knew that we had created a great tasting, smooth gin, but to see the response on social media, and get the stamp of approval from my friend Martha Stewart – I knew we had a winner!”

“The response and support from our partners and distributors has been incredible,” added Weisberg. “To launch a new product is no small feat, and to have such significant consumer following and early acceptance, especially during a pandemic, is humbling and very much appreciated. We have received such great support from everyone involved to ensure our nationwide rollout is a success, and we are excited to bring INDOGGO® to consumers, across the country, who want to enjoy a little ‘Gin and Juice’.”

INDOGGO is certified gluten free, distilled five times with seven premium botanicals and is infused with all-natural strawberry flavor with no added sugar. The gin is light on the juniper flavor and features orange, coriander and cassia botanicals for a taste of strawberry and citrus with a slightly sweet and fruity finish. The gin is great on the rocks, but Snoop Dogg and team have created some delicious cocktails that have been very popular since the rollout including:

Long Beach Lemonade
2 oz. INDOGGO Gin
6 oz. Fresh Lemonade
Ice cubes
Lemon slices for garnish
Add INDOGGO and lemonade to a glass, stir to combine. Top with ice and lemon slices.

Strawberry Basil Gimlet
2 oz. INDOGGO Gin
.75 oz. Lime Juice
.75 oz Honey Syrup (2 pt Honey:1pt water)
Basil

Combine all ingredients, shake and strain into a coupe glass. Top with soda water and garnish with strawberry or basil.

Big Hit Entertainment And Universal Music Group Announce Expanded Strategic Partnership

Big Hit Entertainment (Big Hit) and Universal Music Group (UMG) today announced an expanded strategic partnership that will see the two companies work closely together to increase opportunities for artists through innovation and technology, whilst expanding the global reach of K-pop music and culture around the world.

UMG artists will explore enhanced “direct to fan” communications through Big Hit’s Weverse, a dynamic community-based platform that allows loyal artist fans to engage, share and interact, see and hear new content and purchase new products. Weverse is already being utilized by UMG artists Gracie Abrams, New Hope Club and Alexander 23, with Yungblud amongst the next wave of talent joining Weverse in the coming months.

This follows the announcement last week that UMG has become an equity investor alongside Big Hit, YG Entertainment and Kiswe in KBYK’s VenewLive premium live streaming platform.

Making the joint announcement today via KBYK’s VenewLive platform, the two companies also announced the exciting details of a history making project to assemble and debut a new global K-pop boy group together in the U.S. for the first time.

The new artist project will be released under a new JV label to be created between Big Hit, the global powerhouse team behind the phenomenal worldwide success of Grammy-nominated group BTS, in partnership with UMG’s Geffen Records, a historic label that has helped shape global youth and musical culture over the past 40 years through iconic artists including: Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses, Elton John and Avicii, alongside 2021’s breakthrough global pop artist Olivia Rodrigo, to name a few.

The newly created label will operate from Los Angeles and will work closely alongside teams from Big Hit America, Geffen Records and UMG to successfully launch this project.

Members of this new boy group will be selected through a global audition program, which is on track to begin airing in 2022 and will be launched in conjunction with a major U.S. media partner. The debuting global act will work based on the K-pop system — a full production that combines music, performance, fashion, music video and communications with fans.

Big Hit will utilize its global expertise to lead the discovery, training and development of new artists, fan content production processes, and management of fan communications through the Weverse platform. In addition to working closely with a U.S. media partner to produce the audition program, the team at Geffen Records will leverage their extensive industry network and partners to oversee the music production, marketing and global distribution operations.

Bang Si-Hyuk, Chairman & CEO, Big Hit Entertainment, said, “Our two companies indeed share values and visions in that we both pursue constant innovations and are committed to providing our fans with genuine music and content of the highest and uncompromising level of quality.” He added, “In this sense, I strongly believe that UMG and Big Hit will create a synergy that will rewrite the global music history.”

Lenzo Yoon, CEO Global & Business, Big Hit Entertainment, said, “We will strive to secure competitive platform leadership and develop a top group of artists through the close partnership between our two companies, enabling K-pop to transcend all borders and languages.” He added, “This project is especially significant as it will apply Big Hit’s ‘success formula’ established over the past 16 years to the U.S., the center of the global music market.”

Sir Lucian Grainge, Chairman & CEO, Universal Music Group, said, “With their innovative approach to developing artists and embracing new technology, Big Hit has become one of the most dynamic companies in music entertainment. We’re thrilled to be working together as we launch a new joint venture between our companies that will further accelerate K-pop as a global cultural phenomenon.”

John Janick, Chairman & CEO, Interscope Geffen A&M, said, “We are all incredibly excited about this joint venture project between Geffen Records and Big Hit. This partnership offers both of us an incredible opportunity to work together helping to shape the future of music globally to the benefit of artists and fans alike.”

NASA’s Perseverance Rover Sends Sneak Peek of Mars Landing

0

Less than a day after NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance rover successfully landed on the surface of Mars, engineers and scientists at the agency’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California were hard at work, awaiting the next transmissions from Perseverance. As data gradually came in, relayed by several spacecraft orbiting the Red Planet, the Perseverance team were relieved to see the rover’s health reports, which showed everything appeared to be working as expected.

Adding to the excitement was a high-resolution image taken during the rover’s landing. While NASA’s Mars Curiosity rover sent back a stop-motion movie of its descent, Perseverance’s cameras are intended to capture video of its touchdown and this new still image was taken from that footage, which is still being relayed to Earth and processed.

Unlike with past rovers, the majority of Perseverance’s cameras capture images in color. After landing, two of the Hazard Cameras (Hazcams) captured views from the front and rear of the rover, showing one of its wheels in the Martian dirt. Perseverance got a close-up from NASA’s eye in the sky, as well: NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance. Orbiter, which used a special high-resolution camera to capture the spacecraft sailing into Jezero Crater, with its parachute trailing behind. The High Resolution Camera Experiment (HiRISE) camera did the same for Curiosity in 2012. JPL leads the orbiter’s mission, while the HiRISE instrument is led by the University of Arizona.

Several pyrotechnic charges are expected to fire later on Friday, releasing Perseverance’s mast (the “head” of the rover) from where it is fixed on the rover’s deck. The Navigation Cameras (Navcams), which are used for driving, share space on the mast with two science cameras: the zoomable Mastcam-Z and a laser instrument called SuperCam. The mast is scheduled to be raised Saturday, Feb. 20, after which the Navcams are expected to take panoramas of the rover’s deck and its surroundings.

In the days to come, engineers will pore over the rover’s system data, updating its software and beginning to test its various instruments. In the following weeks, Perseverance will test its robotic arm and take its first, short drive. It will be at least one or two months until Perseverance will find a flat location to drop off Ingenuity, the mini-helicopter attached to the rover’s belly, and even longer before it finally hits the road, beginning its science mission and searching for its first sample of Martian rock and sediment.

A primary objective for Perseverance’s mission on Mars is astrobiology research, including the search for signs of ancient microbial life. The rover will characterize the planet’s geology and past climate and be the first mission to collect and cache Martian rock and regolith, paving the way for human exploration of the Red Planet.

Subsequent NASA missions, in cooperation with ESA (European Space Agency), will send spacecraft to Mars to collect these cached samples from the surface and return them to Earth for in-depth analysis.

The Mars 2020 Perseverance mission is part of NASA’s Moon to Mars exploration approach, which includes Artemis missions to the Moon that will help prepare for human exploration of the Red Planet.

JPL, a division of Caltech in Pasadena, California, manages the Mars 2020 Perseverance mission and the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter technology demonstration for NASA.

Eric Church Announces Three-Album Project, Heart & Soul

0

Speaking directly to fans in a video message delivered to the Church Choir, reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Eric Church confirmed that new music is on the horizon: “I have three albums coming out in April. They came out of my 28 days in the mountains of North Carolina, where the songs were recorded and written. The collection is entitled Heart & Soul.”

In keeping with his longtime commitment to put fans first, Church created the middle album, &, specifically for the Church Choir and will make it available exclusively to those fans and only as a vinyl record on Tuesday, April 20. The other two albums, Heart and Soul, will be available everywhere on Friday, April 16 and Friday, April 23, respectively. Pre-orders for all three albums begin next Friday, January 29.

Along with prioritizing his fans, just as important to Church is the constant desire to push the limits of his artistry, an effort that was on full display during the month-long creative process that went into the creation of this collection.

“I’ve always been intrigued when a song is born in a writer room – there is a magic that happens there,” shares Church of the unique process that went into making this project. “I wanted to put that in the studio form. So, every day, we would write a song in the morning and we would record the song that night. Doing it that way allowed for the songwriters to get involved in the studio process and the musicians to be involved in the creative process. You felt a little bit like you were secretly doing something that was special, and you knew it… You started going, ‘hmm, wait ’til the world finds out about this.’”

The final result of that inclusive process is a three-part, 24-song collection from the man Stereogum praises as “the most consistently interesting star in the Nashville ecosystem” which features an elite list of songwriters who joined the secluded marathon writing and recording sessions. Also part of the recording process for the project anchored solely by Church, with no features, were his longtime producer Jay Joyce and backing vocalist Joanna Cotten, as well as his touring band who played alongside some of Nashville’s most talented studio musicians on the album (full musician credits listed below).

“The interesting thing about this process is that Jay kept asking me the last three or four days, ‘Are we done?’ and at that time I didn’t know what the project was,” notes Church. “I kept saying ‘God, this is going to be really hard. There’s a lot here. Is this a double album? And if it’s a double album, how do we leave out these five or six songs?’ I am the hardest critic on making sure every song deserves to be on the record, and I beat this thing to death going ‘this can’t be that good.’ But, it was just a special, special time and a special, special project that I think will be among our best.”

Concluding his video message to fans, Church reflected, “It’s been a long 10 months. With the power of music and love for each other, we will get through this, we will gather again soon. I cannot wait to play this music for you live.”

That belief in the unifying power of music will be on display again in the coming weeks, as Church takes to the field at Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, February 7 to perform the National Anthem with R&B star Jazmine Sullivan ahead of Super Bowl LV.

Adam Hambrick Releases Debut EP “The Flipsides”

0

Capitol Records Nashville/Buena Vista Records/Universal Music Canada’s Adam Hambrick released his major label debut EP titled, The Flipsides, today. The EP is comprised of six “soulful, pop-country tracks” (The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette) in which Hambrick masterfully shares his life’s stories through his songs. Hambrick effortlessly blends an array of musical styles in his new EP, combining his distinct vocals with his talent for songwriting, stamping his fingerprint on the music from start to finish.

The Flipsides EP is the blueprint of how I approach country music,” says Hambrick of his new project. “It’s real instruments and colorful songwriting put together in a modern way. After 2020 sidelined most of our plans, it now feels really good to get this project out to my fans, who have been so patient. Now we have something to build on for the future.”

The EP includes the “minor, almost angst-filled feel” (American Songwriter) of “Sunshine State Of Mind” to the sly and sexy “The Longer I Lay Here” which rising country artist Jillian Jacqueline lends her vocals. The reflective “Kill A Man” and the ethereal “When It All Sinks In” are immediately gratifying, but in keeping with his musical mission, their biggest reward is their long-term value, the payoff from exploring the layers of sound and pockets of meaning that are key to understanding Hambrick. The multiple styles that feed his brand of country are authentic, but so is his commitment to songs that stand the test of time.

Adam grew up in both Mississippi and Arkansas, being influenced by artists such as Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, John Mayer and The Foo Fighters. From an early age, Adam’s musical roots were grounded in the church singing hymns with his family, where his dad was a Baptist pastor and his mom played piano. After graduating from the University of Central Arkansas, the singer-songwriter made an appearance on KATV’s Good Morning Arkansas, a local Little Rock, Arkansas ABC affiliate, where fellow Arkansas-native and country star Justin Moore happened to be watching and was impressed by Adam’s unique voice and distinctive songs. Soon after, Justin’s producer Jeremy Stover reached out opening the door for Adam to move to Nashville and pursue music full-time. Adam has written a multitude of songs and has received numerous cuts for other artists including Miranda Lambert and Eli Young Band, as well as, No. 1 hits for Dan + Shay (“How Not To”) and Justin Moore (“Somebody Else Will”). Adam has continued to hone his songwriting and vocal skills, while performing live with artists including Brett Young, Jordan Davis, LANCO, and more. Adam released his first two singles “Rockin’ All Night Long” and “Forever Ain’t Long Enough.”

The Flipsides EP Track Listing:

  1. “Broken Ladder” (Written by Adam Hambrick, Ben Stennis)
  2. “The Longer I Lay Here (Featuring Jillian Jacqueline)” (Written by Adam Hambrick, Gavin Slate, Blake Chaffin, Chandler Baldwin, Tripp Howell)
  3. “Kill A Man” (Written by Adam Hambrick, Andy Albert, Andrew DeRoberts)
  4. “Sunshine State Of Mind” (Written by Adam Hambrick, Kelly Archer, Gordie Sampson)

Yungblud Soundtracks Nasa’s Perseverance Rover Landing On Mars With Cover Of David Bowie’s “Life On Mars?”

0

YUNGBLUD’s cover of the classic David Bowie song “Life on Mars?” was heard on NASA live streams shortly after the Perseverance Mars Rover touched down on the Red Planet. The David Bowie Estate offered the song to celebrate this monumental event. YUNGBLUD performed “Life on Mars?” during last month’s “A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day!” concert produced by Mike Garson and Rolling Live Studios. Bowie’s original version of “Life on Mars?” appeared on his 1971 album Hunky Dory.

YUNGBLUD says, “To sing the pinnacle song by an artist that truly defined my whole existence, in a search for extraterrestrial existence was one of the best moments of my entire life. The punx went to Mars!”

“It was amazing working with YUNGBLUD and I’m honored that Rolling Live, Mike Garson, and Bowie Band alumni got to play a part in bringing an iconic song to mark this historic moment,” Kerry Brown, CEO/Founder of Rolling Live Studios, said of the Perseverance landing.

Perseverance is the most sophisticated rover NASA has ever sent to Mars, with a name that embodies NASA’s passion to take on and overcome challenges. It will collect Martian rock and sediment samples for future return to Earth, search for signs of ancient microbial life, characterize the planet’s geology and climate, and pave the way for human exploration beyond the Moon. View the video feed of key Perseverance landing activities and commentary from Mission Control at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory here. For further details on the mission, visit https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/.

A new song of YUNGBLUD’s entitled “mars” appears on his album Weird!, which debuted at No. 1 on the UK Official Album Chart in December 2020. Watch’s YUNGBLUD’s recent performance of “Life On Mars” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” here.
