Elbow’s First Three Albums To Be Reissued On Vinyl On September 25

0

elbow fans will be able to own the band’s first three studio albums on vinyl when they are reissued on 25th September. The heavyweight vinyl pressings cover debut, “Asleep in the Back”, follow up “Cast of Thousands” and third album, “Leaders of the Free World.” In addition, the band’s B sides collection ‘Dead in the Boot’ and 2014’s “The Take Off and Landing of Everything” will be repressed and restocked to stores meaning that the entire elbow album catalogue will now be available on vinyl.

“Asleep in the Back” was the album that introduced elbow to the world. Produced by Ben Hillier (Blur, Doves, Depeche Mode) and containing the singles; “Newborn,” “Any Day Now,” “Red” and “Powder Blue,” it established the band with the UK public and led to Mercury Award and Brit Award nominations. The album closes with perennial fan favourite “Scattered Black and Whites,” recently revisited by the band in lockdown for their elbowrooms sessions.

“Cast of Thousands,” recorded at legendary Liverpool’s legendary Parr Street Studios, with Ben Hiller again at the helm, introduced cover stars Elle and Bo to the world, their life size statues causing traffic jams when sited next to the motorway during festival dates to promote the album. Taking its title from the vocal contributions of the Glastonbury crowd to “Grace Under Pressure,” recorded in a landmark performance on The Other Stage in 2002, the album artwork features the names of all those who contacted the band to say, “yes, I was there and singing.” An early indicator of elbow’s power to produce inclusive, uplifting moments, “Cast of Thousands” also features “Fugitive Motel”; another track featured during the recent elbowrooms recordings.

“Leaders of the Free World” was the first album to be recorded at elbow’s current home, Blueprint Studios, Manchester, and was co-produced by the band and Tom Rothrock, (Beck, Foo Fighters) and mixed at LA’s legendary Sunset Sound Studios. Accompanied by full length film from collaborators Soup Collective on its release, the album contains several tracks that grace elbow sets to this day including “Great Expectations,” and “Station Approach.”

All three albums were awarded 9/10 by the NME, marking the beginnings of a record run of consecutive 9/10 album reviews in the title that persisted through “The Seldom Seen Kid” and “build a rocket boys!” and all have surpassed gold status in the UK with “The Seldom Seen Kid” achieving quadruple platinum status.

“Asleep in the Back,” “Cast of Thousands” and “Leaders of the Free World” vinyl editions will be available from 25th September on Polydor Records.

Marilyn Manson returns with new album We Are Chaos out September 11

0

Marilyn Manson announces the release of his eleventh studio album WE ARE CHAOS out September 11. Co-produced by Manson and GRAMMY® Award winner Shooter Jennings [Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker], the ten-track opus was written, recorded, and finished before a pandemic blanketed us all. Manson heralds the record’s arrival with the title track and lead single “WE ARE CHAOS,” released today. Manson teamed up with director/illustrator Matt Mahurin for the accompanying video.

Manson’s painting, Infinite Darkness, which can be seen on the album cover, was specifically created to accompany the music. His fine art paintings continue to be shown all over the world, including gallery and museum exhibitions from Miami to Vienna to Moscow.

Manson says of the album, “When I listen to WE ARE CHAOS now, it seems like just yesterday or as if the world repeated itself, as it always does, making the title track and the stories seem as if we wrote them today. This was recorded to its completion without anyone hearing it until it was finished. There is most definitely a side A and side B in the traditional sense. But just like an LP, it is a flat circle and it’s up to the listener to put the last piece of the puzzle into the picture of songs.

“This concept album is the mirror Shooter and I built for the listener – it’s the one we won’t stare into. There are so many rooms, closets, safes and drawers. But in the soul or your museum of memories, the worst are always the mirrors. Shards and slivers of ghosts haunted my hands when I wrote most of these lyrics.

“Making this record, I had to think to myself: ‘Tame your crazy, stitch your suit. And try to pretend that you are not an animal’ but I knew that mankind is the worst of them all. Making mercy is like making murder. Tears are the human body’s largest export.”

WE ARE CHAOS Tracklist:

Toronto Singer/Songwriter MATT MORSON Shakes Things Up in New Rock-Blues Single, “Why Woman”

0

Canadian country to blues-rock artist Matt Morson has gone against his own grain as he unveils a spiffed-up sound in his new single, “Why Woman” — available now.

Landing ahead of his forthcoming EP, the track mixes guitar-driven anthemic rock with leave-it-all-on-the-floor bass-led blues — complete with country storytelling mixed in for good measure.

But perhaps most importantly, it signals a change in direction and creative mettle for the artist.

“After being on the country scene for five years, I took a year-long hiatus,” the Nobleton-born, Toronto-based artist shares. “Coming back, the band and I decided to shake things up a bit.”

The result is a new sound and distinct style; a dedication to the ‘old’ with the flair of the ‘new,’ he says. “The song came to me while playing with some blues riffs,” Morson shares. “I was very much — and still am — into the classic sound of blues and rock. Naturally, these sounds shift towards times of stress and heartbreak. Add a little personal experience, a bluegrass riff, some good low end and you got yourself ‘Why Woman.’

“This was a song I didn’t plan to release,” he continues. “It is the result of four years of plucking and pulling multiple ideas into one song. It was initially written back in 2016, but I held it back due to fears of it being too heavy, or too loud. I was worried about straying too far off the beaten path, and as a result kept this idea in the vault.

“That was the old me.

“Now, we are releasing it in all its fury. It’s a change of what’s expected, but it’s a direction I always gravitated towards and am finally no longer holding back from. My goal is to make music, not worry about what people think of it.

“I’m just going to play what I want.”

Hear just what that is… “Why Woman” is available now.

Multi-Award Winning Guitarist, Composer & Producer JESSE COOK Re-Records “Wednesday Night at Etric’s” 23 Years Later with Flamenco Star Matt Sellick

0

Award-winning, multi-platinum and gold selling, and Internationally acclaimed guitarist, composer and producer Jesse Cook has released a newly recorded version of his 1997 song, “Wednesday Night at Etric’s” — available now!

The multi-talented virtuoso pulled the track deep from his archives at the enthusiastic urging of friend and Canadian flamenco guitarist, composer and recording artist extraordinaire Matt Sellick; the duo collaborated for the 2020 re-record of the long-special track.

“Late one night in the late nineties, I recorded a song of mine at my friend Etric’s,” Cook recalls. “It was a hip loft downtown, but there was no recording studio; we just set up a few mic’s and started making music.

“Now, 23 years later, my friend Matt convinced me to revive the song.

“He must have been, what? About five years old when it came out?”

“Well…” Sellick chimes in. “I remember learning this tune the summer I turned 16. It was right when I started taking guitar really seriously, and it was one of those pieces that got me really excited to learn and find my own sound.

“It’s so exciting to revisit it, years later, and record it with Jesse himself!

“Teenage me would never have dreamed of this.”

2020 has been a year filled with milestones for Jesse Cook, most notably the 25th anniversary of his breakthrough release, Tempest and its title-bearing single.

He was initially set to mark the occasion with a 25-date cross-country concert special when the country shut down for COVID-19.

The unforeseen delay inspired Cook to pivot; he released a new version of “Tempest”— “Tempest 25”— the creation of which also served as an experiment of sorts along the way.

“The recording started as a simple idea,” he explains. “I’d use this pandemic time to record a new version of ‘Tempest’ and see if it would sound different.

“Have I changed as a musician, or as a producer?”

While the talent remains steadfast, the list of accomplishments and accolades continue to grow; Jesse Cook holds ten gold and platinum studio albums with combined sales exceeding two million copies, five concert DVDs and live discs, five PBS specials, multiple awards including a JUNO win, 11 nominations, three Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards, a Gemini Award, and an Acoustic Guitar Magazine Player’s Choice Silver Award — plus thousands of concerts around the world over and above millions of views and streams across platforms.

“When you write these things, at first, they’re like your kids,” Cook says, breaking down his songwriting process. “You think of them as yours.

“But then they grow up and start to live a life all their own. Other people record them, use them in their own work, or get married to them, live, celebrate, even heal to them.

“I’ve relished going back to this track and collaborating with Matt — both as a friend and a fellow artist.

“I think Matt is one of Canada’s finest flamenco artists today,” he continues. “I am so proud of the musician he has become, and feel honoured to have been an inspiration to him in some small way.

“Though… All this does make me feel really o-o-o-ld!”

Jesse Cook’s re-record of “Wednesday Night at Etric’s” featuring Matt Sellick is available now.

Buying a football jersey from store

Although getting your football jersey from an online store is great as it saves a lot of your time, you never know about the quality of fabric, texture, or fitting unless you see it yourself. Hence, getting it yourself is always a better option so that you can check the fabric, color combination, and fitting, and choose the best option for yourself!

Now you might be wondering what things to consider when buying a new football jersey for yourself. So, here is the answer to it.

Things to consider when buying a football jersey

  • Type of jersey (Authentic vs. Replica)

Generally, there are three types of football jerseys available in the market.

On-field jersey

On-field jersey is the one with the highest quality! It is the one that athletes wear. This is why it is made up of the most advanced fabric and features the best sweat-absorbing technologies in it. Sizing comes with a numbered system for a perfect professional fit.

Authentic jersey

An authentic jersey is designed for the fans and is similar to the ones that professionals wear, except that they are much less costly. These jerseys are made from a mid-level fabric but still has a tailored fit. Most of the time, it is even hard to differentiate between the on-field jersey and an authentic jersey. They also feature lettering ad numbering. The sizes are the same as small, medium and large

Replica jersey

You can easily identify a replica jersey from its numbering and lettering style. These use screen-printed numbers and letters so it is very easy to find out if the jersey is authentic or a replica. Replica jerseys are made up of less durable material, hence they are light in weight and are available even at a very cheap price.

  • Fitting

Whenever you think of buying a jersey, the most important consideration must be fitting! A football jersey must fit perfectly on the body so that you are comfortable while wearing it. Generally, most of them follow this guide, but you must recheck the sizing detail of the jersey before you purchase one for yourself.

The Endnote

These two things are most important while getting a football jersey for yourself. Therefore, whether you buy from an online store or purchase it yourself from the market, make sure you keep them in a mind! Once you get the right fitting and the right fabric, you are all set to enjoy in your favorite league costume without any worries! So, good luck and happy shopping!

Nike and Grateful Dead Release Fuzzy SB Dunk Low Shoes Featuring Iconic Logos

0

Front and center in the Nike SB Dunk Low Grateful Dead is the band’s most lovable symbol, the dancing bears, which first appear on the back cover of the group’s 1973 LP “History of the Grateful Dead, Volume 1 (Bear’s Choice).” Set in three colorways, the shoe playfully features bear-inspired detailing, such as a faux-fur and suede upper, a frayed Nike Swoosh mimicking the bears’ collars and an image of the bear on the tongue. (Another iconic Grateful Dead logo, the Steal Your Face skull, is printed on the underside of the sockliner.)

The community-rich bond among Dead Heads is even more inviting thanks to the band’s fun, furry ambassadors. While the bears may not have influenced the music itself, the man behind the bears — an enigmatic audio engineer nicknamed Bear, who helped develop the group’s Wall of Sound system as well as the cartoon symbol — certainly did, and his work brought a resounding impact to the Grateful Dead’s legacy, much like Nike SB founder Sandy Bodecker’s impact on the Dunk and skate culture.

“As the band’s benefactor, Bear was an incredibly huge part of the Grateful Dead’s ability to become who they were,” says David Lemieux, the band’s archivist and legacy manager. “They were talented musicians, but they would not have had the financial freedom to forgo jobs, move to Los Angeles and practice for 14 hours a day. The band wouldn’t become what it is today without Bear’s innovations and contributions. The same fiercely independent spirit from Bodecker helped create that authenticity within the skate community.”

The combination of the band and the brand has opened up a new path for both, leading to more novel strategic cooperation and business models. This move is worth commemorating both for the fans and the brand. Why not create some custom promotional gifts to remember the moment? Common promotional gifts include custom pins, challenge coins, and more. Whether it’s a pin or a coin, shoes with a band logo can be used as a design element. The pins can be given to fans as giveaways, while the coins can show the commemorative value.

Billie Eilish Releases New Single And Music Video “my Future” Out Now

0

Today, Billie Eilish returns with her latest single and music video, “my future”.

“we wrote this at the very beginning of quarantine. it’s a song that’s really really personal and special to me. when we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at – hopeful, excited and a craaaazy amount of self-reflection and self-growth. but recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what’s happening in the world now. i hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves,” Said Billie in an email to her fans today.

Written and recorded in Los Angeles during lockdown, and produced by her brother FINNEAS, “my future” follows the 18-year-old’s groundbreaking 2019 multi-GRAMMY® Award winning debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO and the 2020 release of her official James Bond song “No Time To Die.”

The beautifully animated official music video accompanying this release was created by Australian artist Andrew Onorato.

2020 started off with Billie Eilish winning 5 GRAMMYs at the 62nd GRAMMY® Awards in January, where she bagged Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album. February saw Billie take the stage with her brother FINNEAS to deliver a rousing rendition of The Beatles’ ‘Yesterday’ at the 92nd Oscars. Later that month, she released her internationally hailed, official James Bond theme song ‘No Time To Die.’ March came, and the global pop-sensation was ready to embark on her first ever SOLD-OUT WHERE DO WE GO? world arena tour, only for it to be postponed just days into the North American leg of the tour, as the country went into lockdown.

Back home isolating in Los Angeles —with more time and space on her hands— “my future” is the product of an assured young woman, coming into her own, as she contemplates what’s ahead of her, signifying a new chapter for the iconic teen-trailblazer.

Joe Bonamassa Announces New Studio Album “Royal Tea” Inspired by Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, John Mayall, Eric Clapton, and Cream – Available October 23

0

The wait is over, Joe Bonamassa’s new solo studio album Royal Tea inspired by his British heroes Jeff Beck, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin and Cream was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios and will be released on October 23rd via J&R Adventures. Bonamassa also surprised his fans this past Friday with his latest single, “Why Does It Take So Long To Say Goodbye.”

Bonamassa is known for taking risks and venturing into uncharted territory throughout his wide-ranging career but now he has found a new way to surprise his fans and music lovers. Royal Tea brings Bonamassa full-circle. “This whole adventure,” admits Joe, “was a bucket-list thing for me.” This album reconnects the 43-year-old with the guitar-slinging kid from upstate New York, who stumbled across the best of British blues music in his dad’s vinyl collection – whose influences have shaped him to be the player he is today. “I would have been about twelve years old, and it was the sound I heard in my head. Like, ‘OK, I’m in. That’s what I want to be’.”

These ten original tracks were co-written by Joe and a cast of homegrown notables including former Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden, ex-Cream lyricist Pete Brown and national-treasure piano man Jools Holland. “Writing this record in London has done its job,” reflects Bonamassa. “It really does sound inherently British. Bernie and I, we finish each other’s sentences. We’re cut from the same cloth.” Bonamassa’s long-standing producer Kevin Shirley and regular touring band flew in for the recording sessions, which included Anton Fig (drums), Michael Rhodes (bass) and Reese Wynans (keys).

Alongside the announcement of the Royal Tea album, Bonamassa revealed today that he will perform a special Livestream Concert from the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee on September 20th. This concert will feature the songs from his new album before the official release. Joe has never performed a full, unreleased album for audiences like this before, giving fans from around the world the opportunity to come together for an unforgettable night of blues-rock music. Along with Royal Tea he’ll perform classic remixes from his 20th anniversary album A New Day Now. The evening will continue with a one hour “After Party” featuring several live performances from an array of some of the hottest rising stars in blues-rock music.

The live stream tickets and packages for “Joe Bonamassa Live in Concert Worldwide” presented by Keeping The Blues Alive are available for purchase at https://joeb.me/JBW

VIP ticket holders will have their photo printed out and placed in a seat at the legendary Ryman Auditorium as part of Joe’s audience for that special night. VIPs will also get a picture of Joe with his “audience” which will be sent to them via email to keep. The VIP ticket holder’s name will also be included in the credits at the end of the live stream event, as well as being included in the upcoming DVD credits for this performance!

This one-of-a-kind concert is presented by Bonamassa’s non-profit, Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation (KTBA). Each ticket purchase will include a $1 donation to Joe’s Fueling Musicians Program, which to date has raised over $295,000 and has supported more than 163 musicians in need due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While much of the applause Bonamassa receives should be credited to his sheer talent, some part of his success needs to be attributed to Joe and his business partner for having the foresight and ability to become some of music’s savviest entrepreneurs. Bonamassa now 43, and his partner Roy Weisman have together devised a 360-degree independent business model that has survived and thrived during one of the music industry’s most uncertain eras, particularly considering the challenges created by the current pandemic.

Bonamassa’s Royal Tea and A New Day Now follow his instrumental side project called The Sleep Eazys, who released their stunning debut album, Easy To Buy, Hard To Sell, earlier this year. The album, which the Associated Press touted as making “instrumental dreams,” was produced by Bonamassa and features some of his frequent collaborators, along with his all-star touring band. The Sleep Eazys project is Joe’s second time in the studio as a producer, after Reese Wynans’ long-awaited debut solo album Sweet Release.

In addition, Joe continues to crank out weekly programming for Sirius XM’s Bluesville channel for his radio show “Different Shades Of Blue.” More recently, he kicked off a new at-home weekly interview series “Live From Nerdville” on his Facebook and YouTube page, featuring episodes with Neal Schon of Journey, John Oates of Hall & Oates, Glenn HughesPaul Stanley of Kiss, Warren Haynes, Keb’ Mo’, Walter Trout and esteemed singer-songwriter Dion. On June 5, Bonamassa released music icon Dion’s critically-acclaimed new album Blues With Friends on he and his Manager Roy Weisman’s new record label Keeping The Blues Alive Records and Dion’s first single “Blues Comin’ On” also features Bonamassa on slide guitar.

Guns N’ Roses ‘Greatest Hits’ Makes Its Vinyl Debut On September 25

0

On September 25, 2020, Guns N’ Roses’ 2004, multi-platinum best of compilation Greatest Hits (Geffen/UMe) will be released on vinyl for the first time. Previously only available digitally and on CD, Greatest Hits will be pressed as a 2LP set on 180gram audiophile black vinyl, a 2LP set on silver colored vinyl with red and white splatter, plus a 2LP picture disc available exclusively through the band’s official store. The vinyl edition of Greatest Hits will also feature the band’s single “Shadow of Your Love,” which hit No. 5 on the Mainstream Rock chart. Originally recorded in December 1986, “Shadow of Your Love” made its debut on the 2018 box set Appetite For Destruction.

All three versions can each be pre-ordered here.

In 2004, Greatest Hits reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and in 2007 hit No. 1 on the Catalog Albums chart.  Featuring all eight of the band’s Top 40 Billboard Hot 100 tracks (six of them RIAA-certified “gold,” i.e., sales of more than 500,000 units), Greatest Hits spans the group’s five album releases, including their cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy For The Devil” for the 1995 film Interview With The Vampire.

The first full-length album from Guns N’ Roses, 1987’s Appetite For Destruction, is one of the most popular hard rock albums in history and has been on the Billboard Top 200 albums or Top Pop Catalog chart for a total of 746 weeks.  Certified 18 times platinum in the U.S., Appetite For Destruction charted No. 1 for five weeks and includes three Top 10s: the anthem “Welcome To The Jungle” (No. 7), the frenzied rocker “Paradise City” (No. 5) plus their platinum selling No. 1 single “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” The video for “Sweet Child O’ Mine” recently hit over 1 billion views on YouTube.

1988’s G N’R Lies, comprised of songs from the group’s independently-released 1986 EP Live?!*@Like A Suicide plus new studio recordings, followed Appetite For Destruction up the charts, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The Grammy®-nominated album (for Best Hard Rock Performance) was five times platinum (each platinum level connotes sales of more than one million units) and claimed the gold No. 4-charting ballad “Patience.”

Then, on September 17, 1991, with one of the most anticipated releases ever in music, both Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II debuted.  Use Your Illusion I featured two gold singles with “November Rain” (No. 3) and “Don’t Cry” (No. 10) plus another Top 40 with “Live And Let Die” (No. 33).  Use Your Illusion II boasted another gold hit with the previously-released single “You Could Be Mine” (No. 29), heard in the film Terminator II: Judgement Day.  Each of the Use Your Illusion albums went seven times platinum with Use Your Illusion I going to No. 2 and Use Your Illusion II hitting No. 1.  Use Your Illusion I was Grammy® nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance as was the Wings cover “Live And Let Die.” Greatest Hits also culls from II “Yesterdays,” “Civil War” and GN’R’s take on Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.” Both Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II have sold over seven million copies to date.

A collection of Guns N’ Roses covers of classic, mainly punk, songs that had influenced the bandmembers since their early days, 1993’s The Spaghetti Incident? hit No. 4 and is certified platinum.  Included on Greatest Hits are its renditions of The Dead Boys’ 1978 track “Ain’t It Fun” and an unlikely cover of The Skyliners’ ’50s doo-wop gem “Since I Don’t Have You.”
