Latin Rock Icons Maná Confirm U.S. Dates For ‘Rayando El Sol Tour’

0

The biggest rock band in Spanish, Maná, announced their return to the road on Premio Lo Nuestro. Today “the most widely sold and heard Latin band in the world” (Billboard) confirmed details of their headlining ‘Rayando El Sol Tour’ across the United States. The tour is named after their critically acclaimed single, “Rayando El Sol,” which was one of the band’s first great successes and the kick off to a remarkable career including 4 Grammy Awards, 8 Latin Grammy Awards, 19 Billboard Latin Music Awards and dozens more around the world.

Produced by Live Nation, the tour will make over 20 stops across the U.S., kicking off September 4th in Corpus Christi, TX with visits to Houston, San Diego, Brooklyn and more, before wrapping November 27th in Sacramento, CA. The U.S. outing will also include an astonishing 4 nights at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA between September and November, making history as the largest run of dates at The Forum for any Latin act in history. See full itinerary below.

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, March 1st at 11am local time at LiveNation.com. Maná will also offer VIP packages for each show with options that include; premium seating, an invitation to Maná’s VIP pre-show lounge, the opportunity to sit at Alex’s drum kit for a memorable photo, and much more! Fans can visit www.VIPNation.com for more info.

The band will also be making a very special appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on February 27th with a can’t miss performance in celebration of the tour announcement. Additionally, they will be performing an exclusive live set for fans in anticipation of the tour on February 26th which will be live streamed on Maná’s Facebook page and Twitter account beginning at 5:15pm PT/8:15pm ET. The live stream will give fans just a taste of what they can expect from the highly anticipated upcoming tour.

It has been three years since the multi-platinum selling and Grammy Award®-winning rock band last toured. As Latin Rock’s most engaging arena-level live band, longtime cultural ambassadors and powerful social advocates, their previous ‘LATINO POWER TOUR’ sold out venues across the U.S. with a message of unity and empowerment for U.S. Latinos. It featured 80 tons of state of the art concert production gear which traveled across the United States with the goal of uniting and inspiring Latino communities to make their voices heard.

Having formed in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1986, the quartet of Fher Olvera, Alex González, Sergio Vallín and Juan Calleros have gone on to be global envoys for the Latin Rock genre, while selling over 40 million albums. Here in the United States, Maná holds an impressive nine #1 albums and ten #1 singles -more than any other band in the history of Billboard’s “Hot Latin Songs” chart. Maná is also unquestionably the top-drawing all-Spanish language concert band in the U.S. with notable attendance records to their name, and the New York Times declaring the group has: “Redefined ‘Crossover’ in Latin Pop… with its mix of love songs and more pointed political material about immigration and the environment, …Maná has a mass appeal nearly unrivaled in the Latin pop world.”

Frozen Food Trends That Are Making Waves In The Industry

0

It’s an all-too-familiar scenario when you come home after a long day’s work, and you still have to exert brainpower into planning your dinner. Fortunately, there’s frozen food to save your day.

This type of meal is intended to be a quick and easy way for people to get nourishment. You just pop it in the microwave, wait for a few minutes, and enjoy a satisfying dinner without further tiring yourself.

Frozen food meals are processed to have a longer shelf life. While people prefer fresh offerings, it’s still undeniable that frozen food will continue to be a household staple in today’s bustling world. Not to worry, though, since a lot of emerging frozen food trends are healthier without compromising convenience.

Here are a few frozen food trends you should watch out for:

  1. Cauliflower Rice

Cauliflower has become one of the favorite veggies of health enthusiasts because it’s the perfect alternative to traditional white rice. It’s low-carb but packed with nutrients, fiber, and antioxidants. A lot of brands are expected to join the bandwagon, given the vegetable’s ever-rising popularity.

Business owners can turn to companies like Frozen Food Trends – Magid that offer consulting services on where the industry is going regarding this meal type. They also provide research and analytics for factual data on how to improve sales.

These are the best dishes that go well with cauliflower rice:

  • Chinese-Style Ribs – The mild taste of cauliflower rice is the perfect balance to this flavorful dish with hoisin sauce, marmalade, sherry, and pie spice.
  • Garlic Chicken and Broccoli – This healthy meal can be made in advance and kept in the freezer along with your cauliflower rice.
  • Creamy Paprika Pork – This paprika-infused dish can add a spicy punch to your frozen meal.
  • Honey Buffalo Meatballs – If you prefer something sweet and salty, you’ll enjoy these meatballs covered in honey buffalo sauce.
  • Thai Coconut Beef – For a creamy base, this Thai coconut beef dish can be left in the slow cooker and ready for you by the time you get home.
  1. Veggie Patties

If you’re vegan, vegetarian, or an advocate of the meatless Mondays campaign, you’ll be glad to know that you’ll increasingly see more veggie patty choices in the frozen food aisle. Most meatless burger patties are made from beans, tofu, nuts, grains, and mushrooms, which are all healthy alternatives to pork, beef, or chicken.

  1. Microwavable Quinoa

Quinoa is another superfood that’s become a favorite of people on a low-carb diet. It’s a grain crop that was famous in South America, with the Incas referring to it as the “mother of all grains.” It comes in three types: white, red, and black, and has very high fiber content. Plus, it’s also perfect for people with gluten intolerance and those looking for a healthy protein and amino acid source.

There are microwavable quinoa options already on the market today. You can look forward to more choices soon.

Quinoa contains a substantial amount of these vitamins and minerals:

  • Manganese – This mineral boosts your metabolism, growth, and development.
  • Phosphorous – You need phosphorous to have healthy bones and maintain the health of your body tissues.
  • Copper – It’s the main mineral to uphold your heart health.
  • Folate – Folate intake is particularly essential for pregnant women. It facilitates cell function and tissue growth.
  • Iron – Iron is primarily significant for transporting oxygen in red blood cells.
  • Magnesium – It can help you fight against type 2 diabetes by reducing insulin resistance.
  • Zinc – Zinc is crucial for wound healing as well as for keeping your sense of taste and smell functioning well.
  1. Frozen Berries

Frozen berries, such as blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, will continue to be a popular frozen food item because they’re inexpensive and remain unaffected by the season. Moreover, these fruits retain their nutritional benefits even when stored in freezing temperatures. They’re excellent additions to your smoothies for times when breakfast seems impossible.

  1. Frozen Breakfast

While frozen food is commonly heated for dinner purposes, there’s also breakfast options that you can buy when you need to rush out the door in the mornings quickly. There are different variations of waffles available in the market today, such as blueberry and grain. You can also buy breakfast burritos and pizzas.

Conclusion

Frozen food meals won’t be going away any time soon because of the convenience they offer. Food companies should take advantage of the many opportunities that this industry provides by looking for healthier alternatives to traditional options and move toward making fresh vegetables and fruits more accessible to everyone.

Hear The First Music Created By A Computer, “The Illiac Suite” In 1957

0

Illiac Suite (later retitled String Quartet No. 4) is a 1957 composition for string quartet which is generally agreed to be the first score composed by an electronic computer. Lejaren Hiller, in collaboration with Leonard Issacson, programmed the ILLIAC I computer at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (where both composers were professors) to generate compositional material for his String Quartet No. 4.

The piece consists of four movements, corresponding to four experiments: the first is about the generation of cantus firmi, the second generates four-voice segments with various rules, the third deals with rhythm, dynamics and playing instructions, and the fourth with various models and probabilities for generative grammars or Markov chains.

The Universal Appeal of Buzzcocks’ “Ever Fallen in Love”

0

When people think of the most influential artists in punk, there are some obvious options. You’ve got the Clash, The Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, Joy Division, Black Flag, Fugazi. But a band that get overlooked for their considerable influence is the Buzzcocks. Think about it. Their 1977 Spiral Scratch EP was the first independently released punk record, which fused the idea of DIY to the punk ethos. It set a precedent for bands releasing their own music, their New Hormones label predating Rough Trade, SST, Touch and Go, Subpop and Dischord. Guitarist Pete Shelley and original frontman Howard Devoto also booked the Sex Pistols to play their first Manchester gig, making the band not just a London scene blip but a national presence, as well as kickstarting the Manchester punk/indie scene. Plus for better or worst, they invented pop punk and did it better than any other band since. But for this video Trash Theory will be focusing on their greatest moment: “Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve)”.

Elderbrook & Rudimental Release “something About You”

0

Platinum-selling UK collective Rudimental and Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Elderbrook have unveiled their highly-anticipated collaboration – “Something About You,” out today via Big Beat Records and joined by an inspirational official music video.

Starring Michael Socha from HBO’s Chernobyl and the film This Is England, the video focuses on the important issue of mental health. Directed by Luke Davies (Rich The Kid, Jax Jones, Mabel) and showcasing an all-male group therapy session, the visual rails against notions of traditional masculinity, showing the beauty that can come from expressing emotions.

Of their experience working with Elderbrook, Rudimental explained: “We have been big fans of Elderbrook’s vocals and production over the past few years so it’s amazing to finally come together on this track!”

Elderbrook echoed this, saying “I’ve always loved the music and energy that Rudimental put out. This song wouldn’t have happened without them and has been amazing collaborating with them!”

“Something About You” comes off Rudimental’s Distinction EP, also out today via Major Tom/Big Beat Records (buy/stream here; track list enclosed). The four-track dance focused EP includes previously released tracks “Sitigawana” ft. The Martinez Brothers and “Mean That Much” with Preditah ft. MORGAN.

The multi-platinum group’s last album “Toast to Our Differences,” was released in January of this year and has gone on to amass over 1.2 Billion streams, marked by the smash hits “Sun Comes Up” ft. James Arthur and “These Days” ft. Jess Glynne, Macklemore & Dan Caplen. They will cap off the summer with a series of UK festival dates and live shows (itinerary below), following their residency earlier this summer in Ibiza.

Elderbrook will also headline shows across Europe from September to October, before heading to North America the following month for a tour which will include stops at iconic venues such as Bowery Ballroom, The Troubadour, and more.

Following his Grammy nomination in 2018 for the global smash “Cola” with Camelphat, Elderbrook has spent the past two years touring the globe (including runs with Rüfüs Du Sol, Jungle + Bonobo) and amassing millions of streams with his unique blend of innovative dance music and catchy leftfield pop. Most recently, he released “How Do You” featuring Diplo & Sofi Tukker, which was featured as BBC Radio 1 Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World.

Wilder Woods Self-Titled Debut Album Out Now

0

Wilder Woods – a.k.a. GRAMMY Award–nominated NEEDTOBREATHE frontman and co–founder Bear Rinehart – has released his eagerly anticipated self–titled debut album.

WILDER WOODS will be celebrated with a special two song performance on CBS This Morning Saturday airing tomorrow, August 10th – check local listings. Wilder Woods – who recently visited Paste Magazine’s Paste Studio NYC for an exclusive three-song live session – will kick off his first–ever North American headline tour, set to get underway September 5th at Toronto, ON’s Mod Club and then travel into mid–October.

A timeless blend of classic soul, infectious R&B, and modern pop, WILDER WOODS is the sound of a veteran songwriter confidently breaking new ground, blazing his own distinctive trail through uncharted territory with comfort and style. Simultaneously vulnerable and self–assured, songs like “Sure Ain’t” and “Electric Woman” – the latter joined by a new official video co–starring Rinehart’s wife, Mary Reames – reflect both the rich well of experience from which they’re drawn and the bold leap that they represent, pairing intimate, introspective lyricism with effortless swagger and monster hooks. Recorded at Layman Drug Company studios in East Nashville with producer Gabe Simon (Dua Lipa, Gin Wigmore), the album sees backing by a top–shelf cohort of co–writers and supporting musicians, including The Watson Twins, Jesse Baylin, Trent Dabbs, Carson Cooley, Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris), and more. A singular blend of old and new, like a vintage Eldorado retrofitted with a 21st century engine, WILDER WOODS uncovers a new side of Bear Rinehart, one that he’s more than ready to share.
