Ed Sheeran celebrates the announcement of his No.6 Collaborations Project – which arrives everywhere on July 12 – with the release of new song “Cross Me” featuring Chance the Rapper and PnB Rock, out tonight at midnight ET. This new collaboration follows the release of “I Don’t Care” with Justin Bieber.
Sheeran says – “Before I was signed in 2011, I made an EP called No.5 Collaborations Project. Since then, I’ve always wanted to do another, so I started No.6 on my laptop when I was on tour last year. I’m a huge fan of all the artists I’ve collaborated with and it’s been a lot of fun to make. No.6 Collaborations Project will be out everywhere on 12 July. It’s available to pre-order from midnight tonight local time and my song with Chance the Rapper and PnB Rock will be out everywhere at the same time x”
6 COLLABORATIONS PROJECT TRACKLISTING:
When it comes to free music apps there’s no lack of choice.
But what it comes down to is your personal choice and what you’re willing to put up with for the free version. So let’s check out 10 of the most widely used free music apps and see which one is right for you.
Music Apps
Whether you want to listen while traveling or hanging around the house, it’s a good idea to have more than one way to access your music. Consider your data plan and how much storage you have on your phone when looking at these apps.
A no-brainer for this list, you’ve probably tried it out already. Spotify’s free service doesn’t hold many options back from its free users. You have access to playlists, stations, podcasts, and auto-generated lists that can help find music similar to what you listen to.
Soundcloud has many of the same features as Spotify like weekly generated playlists, customs playlists, and themed lists. What it does better than Spotify is its user participation. Users can record their own songs and upload them to Soundcloud through the app.
Definitely one of the most popular music apps, Pandora fills a special niche for free apps. You create stations and let it run, sometimes it brings you good stuff similar to what you wanted, sometimes the like system brings weird songs to you. Most of the time it works and works well thanks to the Music Genome Project.
One of the few free music apps that don’t have ads in the free version, iHeartRadio focuses on stations. You can make stations or use the app to listen to local radio stations.
YouTube has access to more music than most of the other apps but falls short in two vital areas. You have to keep the app open in the foreground for it to play in the free version. It’s good if you want to connect it to a speaker but not for casual listening.
Another station-centric app, LiveXLive (formerly Slacker) operates much like Pandora. What LiveXLive has special, however, is a much cheaper way to get rid of ads. A $3.99 a month plan removes ads and gives unlimited skips.
This is for the iPhone users only but has some great features. Musi allows you to create playlists out of YouTube videos and Soundcloud songs. The best part is that your YouTube music will play when minimized, the worst part is that it is supported by ads.
TuneIn takes radio very seriously. You can’t play specific songs but you can find radio stations all over the nation that do. And if you’re interested in other on-demand entertainment, check out what you can watch on IPTV channels.
If you keep your own music on your phone and want a purely offline app, this is one of the best. There’s no ads or interruptions since it’s all your music anyway.
Deezer takes a little work up front to get going but is worth it. After choosing genres you pick the artists you like. There’s also the option to listen to editor-chosen playlists.
There’s Even More
These are just some of the music apps out there so what you need may not even be on this list. And if you decide to spring for the premium version there are so many more features. Between custom playlists, auto-generated playlists, and local radio stations, there’s bound to be something for everyone.

Seven new dates for the “Ultimate Tour Named Death,” Ghost’s six-week North American headline arena tour are announced, adding shows in Edmonton, Toledo, Moline, Youngstown, Huntington, Hamilton, and Ottawa. A series of ticket pre-sales begins today at 12NOON local, and the public on-sale starts at 10 AM local this Friday, May 24. With Nothing More providing support for the tour and Twin Temple supporting on the 9/28 SLC date, the Frank Productions Concerts-Fall dates kick off on September 13 in Bakersfield, CA and run through to October 26 in Glens Falls, NY.
In support of this tour, “Faith,” the third single from Ghost’s GRAMMY-nominated album Prequelle, went to Rock Radio just last week and is the #1 most added track there this week with a total of 36 adds. “Faith” follows Prequelle’s two previous singles, “Rats” and “Dance Macabre,” both of which held the #1 spot on the Active and Mainstream Rock Radio charts for multiple weeks. An eminently tight track with its relentless and melodic guitar solos and dark, torturous lyrics, “Faith” manifests Ghost creative force Tobias Forge’s flair for soaring stadium-size anthems.
A live performance of “Faith” was shot last November at Ghost’s sold-out Los Angeles Forum show, the band’s first-ever North American headline arena concert. The clip showcases this tour’s expanded theatrical production, a striking stage set resembling a medieval cathedral with a backdrop of illuminated stained-glass windows. In addition to rich costumes, special effects, and a spectacular light show tailored-made for arenas, the Cardinal, the Ghouls, and the Ghoulettes will take advantage of a series of multi-level platforms and walkways to prowl around on while performing some of Ghost’s fan-favorite songs from the band’s albums and EPs catalogs. The set list will include favorites “Square Hammer,” “Cirice,” “Ashes,” “He Is,” “Year Zero,” “Rats,” “Mummy Dust,” “Life Eternal,” “Dance Macabre,” and many more. “Summersault began as a little idea. We asked a handful of Canadian bands we were fans of to join us on a few outdoor shows in 1998. The bands agreed and Summersault was born. The next year our list grew to include International bands like the Foo Fighters, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, A Perfect Circle, The Catherine Wheel, and Sum41. Summersault quickly grew to a cross Canada Festival. It was the first time many of these bands had ever visited or played cities like Edmonton, Winnipeg & Halifax. We are proud to have exposed them to these and other incredible Canadian cities back in 2000 and this year feels like the right time to relaunch Summersault. We couldn’t be more excited to bring it to Canada again,” said Raine Maida, Our Lady Peace.
Summersault Festival was first launched in 1998 and included performances from Our Lady Peace, Moist, I Mother Earth, Sloan, Esthero and Treble Charge at Molson Park in Barrie, Ontario to over 35,000 fans. In 2000, Summersault returned with a national tour the included performances from Our Lady Peace, The Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, A Perfect Circle

Ahead of the release of The Waterboys’ acclaimed new album Where The Action, the band have shared the music video for the third single off the record, “Ladbroke Grove Symphony”. Where The Action is out this Friday, May 24 via Cooking Vinyl.
“Ladbroke Grove Symphony” is a tribute to the former bohemian heart of West London, in which Mike Scott invokes his time living and writing among the crumbling, seaside-esque streets of Notting Hill during the 80s.
The accompanying montage video captures the magic of the Grove in all its weird and wonderful counterculture, and features new film and vintage photography of Scott as he tells the story of the song.
“Ladbroke Grove Symphony” is from Where The Action Is, a 10-song genre-defying album that is testament to Scott’s enduring talents. One of the finest British songwriters of the past four decades, his songs have been covered and/or recorded by artists including Prince, who crafted two different arrangements of Scott’s classic “The Whole Of The Moon”, Rod Stewart, Tom Jones, Steve Earle, and Ellie Goulding, who had a top three hit in 2013 with How Long Will I Love You.
Diverse in breadth, Where The Action Is is an album of incredible songwriting, experimentation and musical brilliance. It will excite Waterboys fans and new converts alike.
The Waterboys are Brother Paul (keys), Ralph (drums), Aongus (bass), Jess and Zeenie (vocals), Steve Wickham (electric fiddle and guitar) and Mike Scott (vocals, guitar and piano).
The band will tour the UK throughout the spring and summer with a US tour to look forward to in the fall. See full list of tour dates below. For more information visit The Waterboys website.

There are people who were put on this earth to love music, to help artists, to share their experience and knowledge. Dave “Bookie” Bookman was one of them. The city of Toronto – and Canada’s – music scene wouldn’t be the same without him, and he will be missed.
Multiple-GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter Rob Thomas has announced the second leg of his North American Chip Tooth Tour, supporting his fourth solo album Chip Tooth Smile. The 18 new dates will kick off August 16th in Port Chester, NY for a second night at Capitol Theatre and continue through end of September, featuring special guest Max Frost (select shows only). The tour’s first leg is set to kick off May 28th in Red Bank, NJ at the Count Basie Center for the Arts and will continue through early August.
Debuting at #3 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart, Chip Tooth Smile has been met with an outpouring of critical acclaim since release last month. “Rob Thomas is an expert at his craft” raved Variety, while Forbes echoed “’Chip Tooth Smile’ is vintage Thomas – smart songwriting, excellent pop/rock craftsmanship, eclectic and at times moving, at times, fun, and always solid.” The 12-track collection features production from Butch Walker (Panic! At The Disco, P!nk) and Benny Blanco (Ed Sheeran), perfectly complimenting Thomas’ long-acclaimed songwriting talent.
Chip Tooth Smile was heralded by lead single “One Less Day (Dying Young),” which is continuing to see success at Hot AC radio, charting in the top 15 following recent performances on ABC’s Good Morning America (WATCH) and The Ellen DeGeneres Show (WATCH). Rolling Stone described the song as “thunderous, life-affirming” and “an impassioned vocal performance,” while Billboard declared it to be “one of the boldest singles released so far this year.” The album also includes standout tracks “Timeless,” inspired by classic songs of the 80s, and “I Love It,” which is currently being used nationwide for the 2019 NBA Playoffs (WATCH).
Fan club pre-sale access for the second leg of the Chip Tooth Tour will begin this Tuesday, May 14th at 10 AM (local), with public on-sale beginning Friday, May 17th at 10 AM (local). Each ticket purchased online for the North American tour comes with a digital download of the new album.
