Most of us prefer listening to some music while studying because, as surprising as it may sound, it helps us to concentrate and keeps our brain focused on information processing. But music has to be rhythmic and atmospheric, which is why synthwave belongs to the most popular styles among college students.
Best Synthwave Artists To Listen To While Studying
Here are some synthwave artists worth checking:
Kavinsky – it provides this retro, vintage feel that many of us love. This French producer knows his trade and delivers one of the most classic vibes. It is also good to study along because the pulsating rhythms and some repetitions help to memorize things. It inspires your brain to associate music with some odd terms that you have to master.
M83 – remember the main theme from the movie “Oblivion”? One of the most amazing artists in the genre with great videos that are also worth checking. It will keep you busy for hours, which is why it wouldn’t hurt to check Top Essay Writing reviews and see what will work for you or leave your thoughts if you have already used something. Sharing your opinion will help people to make safe choices and achieve success! It also improves one’s karma, as some would say!
Scandroid – a Los Angeles-based artist who uses mostly analog synths and great feats that will make you feel focused on words as well. His music has a soothing feel that helps to overcome anxiety and stress. It also helps to get rid of distractions as it begs for your attention.
Lazerhawk – mostly known for the track “overdrive” and various anime series that come along, this artist is worth checking, although he is not too famous. If you want to find something special in the genre, this is it. His music is a great study companion for many students like you. He may not be as famous as M83, yet once you discover some of his tracks, you will thank me later! Now, if you want to share your opinion about anything educational, check LetsGradeIt and find out what is worth your attention. You can leave your opinion as well.
Perturbator – his dark pulsating melodies will attract even those people who are not used to synthwave music. Still, as one of the established artists, this French musician (James Kent) knows how to keep you focused with complex tasks as you study or how to help you dance around the room. Check some of his tracks and discover why he is so popular!
The Stress Factor & Music As You Learn
Regardless of what style of music you may choose, one of the most important qualities of listening to something as you study is getting rid of some factors that take your attention away. For example, synthwave music is often associated with sci-fi or anime, which is why it creates a certain environment that makes you feel glued to every sound. Your brain becomes active and the tiredness is approached differently. Even if you have never tried studying and listening to music at the same time, try it out at least once to see how much better you will feel!

In the spring of 1971, The Band set off to Europe where they hadn’t played since their tumultuous tour with Bob Dylan in 1966, where they were booed every night as the folk rock purists felt betrayed by Dylan who had gone electric, backed by his band The Hawks who would soon after become The Band. Not having played there in five years, The Band – Garth Hudson (keyboards, piano, horn), Levon Helm (drums, vocals, mandolin), Richard Manuel (keyboards, vocals, drums), Rick Danko (bass, vocals, fiddle) and Robbie Robertson (guitar, piano, vocals) – were understandably weary and didn’t know what to expect, but instead of boos they received a rapturous response at their first concert in Hamburg, Germany and would go on to play for one enthusiastic crowd after another. “Each member of The Band was on a musical high. Everybody playing and singing at the top of their game. Each night, from Amsterdam to Paris to Copenhagen, the spirit kept rising,” remarks Robertson. When it came to the band’s concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall in June 1971, they wanted to document it so their label EMI taped it on a 4-track machine.
For the first time ever, this concert recording is being released 50 years after it was laid to tape, and will be available as part of the 50th anniversary editions of the band’s classic third album, Stage Fright, releasing February 12 via Capitol/UMe in a suite of newly remixed, remastered and expanded packages, including a multi-format Super Deluxe Edition box set (2CD/Blu-ray/1LP/7-inch); digital, 2CD, 180-gram black vinyl, and limited edition 180-gram color vinyl version. Live At The Royal Albert Hall, 1971 is an exhilarating 20-song set that captures The Band firing on all cylinders and delivering thrilling performances of songs from their then-recently released Stage Fright record, alongside their most popular tracks from Music From Big Pink and the self-titled sophomore “Brown Album” such as “The Weight,” “King Harvest (Has Surely Come),” “Up On Cripple Creek,” “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” “Across The Great Divide,” “Chest Fever,” and inspired covers of Dylan’s “I Shall Be Released” and the Stevie Wonder-penned, Four Tops hit, “Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever.” With the help of mixer Bob Clearmountain, these recordings have been restored five decades later, allowing listeners to experience what Robertson calls, “One of the greatest live concerts The Band ever played.”
All the Anniversary Edition releases were overseen by principal songwriter Robertson and boast a new stereo mix by Clearmountain from the original multi-track masters. For the first time, the album is being presented in the originally planned song order. In addition to Live at the Royal Albert Hall, June 1971, the box set, CD and digital configurations feature a bevy of unreleased recordings, including alternate versions of “Strawberry Wine” and “Sleeping;” and seven unearthed field recordings, Calgary Hotel Recordings, 1970, a fun and loose, impromptu late night hotel jam session between Robertson, Danko and Manuel of several Stage Fright songs recorded while the album was in the mixing stage plus a host of covers.
Ahead of the release, The Band has shared the rousing performance of their timeless song, “The Weight,” which comes on the heels off the recent releases of the live version of Stage Fright standout “Time To Kill” and the alternate mix of “Sleeping.”
Exclusively for the box set, Clearmountain has also created a new 5.1 surround mix and a hi-res stereo mix of the album, bonus tracks and the live show, presented on Blu-ray. All the new audio mixes have been mastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering. The set also includes an exclusive reproduction of the Spanish pressing of The Band’s 1971 7-inch vinyl single for “Time To Kill” b/w “The Shape I’m In” in their new stereo mixes and a photo booklet with new notes by Robertson and touring photographer John Scheele, who recorded the Calgary Hotel Recordings; plus a reprinting of the original Los Angeles Times album review by famed critic Robert Hilburn; three classic photo lithographs; and a wealth of photographs from Scheele and several other photographers.
As with the acclaimed 50th anniversary collections for Music From Big Pink and the self-titled record, Clearmountain and Robertson’s approach to remixing the beloved album was done with the utmost care and respect for the music and what The Band represents. “Doing new mixes on these songs with Bob Clearmountain has been a gift and special opportunity,” Robertson writes in the new liner notes. “Glyn Johns and Todd [Rundgren] did a terrific job on the original mixes in England while The Band was on the Festival Express train tour across Canada with Janis Joplin and the Grateful Dead. We had always been part of the mixing process before, which left something on this album feeling a little unfinished. Clearmountain has taken this music and given it the sonic lift it deserves. The album has become a whole new listening experience with the original song order and the depth of these mixes.” The result is a new mix that allows listeners to hear these timeless songs clearer than ever before. “There may be some purists that prefer ‘the way it was,’ and of course that’s always readily available,” adds Robertson. “I’m enjoying this new version, this story, this musical journey. It feels like a fulfillment and I know my brothers in The Band would definitely agree.”
Whereas the electrifying Live at the Royal Albert Hall concert showcases The Band playing as good as they ever did, The Calgary Hotel Recordings, 1970 offer a glimpse into a different kind of performance, the kind of fun, spur-of-the-moment jam sessions that were bound to happen whenever the guys were together in a hotel room or backstage on tour. As Robertson started to run through some of The Band’s new songs recently recorded for Stage Fright, photographer Scheele, who was traveling with the group on the Festival Express, hit record on his portable cassette recorder and captured the spontaneous performance late at night on July 3, 1970 in Calgary, the last stop of the legendary tour. The field recordings, which feature Robertson on guitar and vocals with Danko harmonizing and playing rhythm and Manuel joining in on vocals and harmonica, are a fascinating document that lets fans hear the friends letting loose and having a good time together doing what they loved to do.
Released on August 17, 1970, Stage Fright features two of The Band’s best-known songs, “The Shape I’m In” and the title track, both of which showcased inspired lead vocal performances by Manuel and Danko, respectively and became staples in the group’s live shows. Recorded over 12 days on the stage of the Woodstock Playhouse, the album was self-produced by The Band for the first time and engineered and mixed by Todd Rundgren with additional mixing by Glyn Johns. Coming off the heels of the band’s monumental debut and sophomore records, Stage Fright cemented The Band as one of the most exciting and important musical acts of the ‘60s and ‘70s. As noted music critic Robert Hilburn wrote in his glowing review for the Los Angeles Times, “Like the first two albums, the new one features a staggering display of musical prowess – superb instrumentation, precise vocals and rich, timeless lyrics,” adding, “At least five of the songs, including ‘The Rumor,’ ‘Daniel and the Sacred Harp, ‘The Shape I’m In’ and ‘Time to Kill’ rank comfortably alongside ‘The Weight,’ The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down’ and a few others as the best things the group has ever done.” Stage Fright peaked at #5 on Billboard, surpassing The Band’s first two albums, and went gold.
For the 50th Anniversary collection, the sequence has been changed to present Stage Fright with the originally planned song order. “On the album, we used a different sequence to feature and encourage Richard and Levon’s songwriting participation,” Robertson reveals. “Over time, I pined for our first song order, because it pulls you right into the Stage Fright scenario.”
Fifty years on, lifelong fans and those just discovering The Band can experience the album in a whole new way, sounding better than ever, or for the first time.

On March 26, 3 DOORS DOWN will release a re-mastered, 20th Anniversary Edition of The Better Life album along with the nine-song “Escatawpa Sessions” as a box set on high-quality 3LP vinyl. The “Escatawpa Sessions,” recorded in the band’s Mississippi hometown in 1996, features seven demo versions from The Better Life, as well as three previously unreleased tracks.
The 3LP box set features a custom lithograph, a six-page booklet with never-before-seen photos and extensive liner notes, and interviews with the band and executives from their label and talent agency. A 2CD and an expanded digital album will also be available. The 2CD and digital album each feature four new bonus tracks including, “The Better Life (XX Mix),” a new mix by Grammy Award-winning Chris Lord-Alge, “Kryptonite (2000 Acoustic),” “Be Like That (2000 Acoustic),” and “Wasted Me (With Harp Version).” Pre-order THE BETTER LIFE 20th Anniversary Edition now and listen to the Bonus Track “The Better Life (XX Mix),” HERE. Watch the new lyric video for The Better Life (XX Mix)” on the 3 DOORS DOWN Official YouTube Channel BELOW..
From the explosive, anthemic vulnerability of the No. 1 Mainstream Rock track “Kryptonite” to the subversively sinister warning shot of “Loser” and the working-class lament of “Duck and Run” (the album’s second and third No. 1’s, respectively), not to mention the acoustified wishful thinking of “Be Like That,” The Better Life reminded us all that connecting with the power of great music can bring people together in ways other art forms simply cannot. Without question, The Better Life—which went on to be certified 7x Platinum in the United States alone—was the first “best” rock album of the 2000s. Two full decades later, the impact and enduring resonance of The Better Life remains as true and deep as the day it was first heard.
3 DOORS DOWN frontman and celebrated songwriter Brad Arnold shares, “It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since we released the album that changed our lives forever. It’s been a wild ride, and I can truly say we’re extremely excited to celebrate The Better Life by playing it front to back this year. I’m really looking forward to rocking and celebrating with our fans this summer. We can’t wait to share the new production; it’s one of the largest and best looking we’ve ever had.”
3 DOORS DOWN continues the 20th Anniversary celebrations of The Better Life with three opportunities to watch them from the safety and comfort of your living room performing live from Nashville, TN. The “3 X LIVE” PPV series kicks off today, February 5, and will feature the band, for the first time, playing their debut album in its entirety, plus three previously unheard songs from their vault. February 19 “Greatest Hits Acoustic” and March 5 “Greatest Hits Live & Electric” will mark the next shows’ dates in the series. The band will vary the setlists for three unique fan experiences.
The “3 X LIVE” PPV series will be streamed and ticketed by Mandolin. Individual show tickets are $20, and the three show bundle is $50. The band will be offering limited and exclusive merchandise packages, including show t-shirts, exclusive posters, and more available during each show. All shows will be available to stream on-demand for 48-Hours from the original date and time.
ReOrchestrated is a feature-length documentary film featuring Bastille, arriving worldwide via Amazon Prime Video on Friday, February 5, 2021.
It’s fair to say the artists that most typically endure are the ones that at some point confound us, or, perhaps most notably, confound themselves.
Exploring themes of drive, motivation, anxiety, and imposter’s syndrome, ReOrchestrated is a revelatory and inspiring watch for anyone that wishes to understand what it takes to keep things gripping within the construct of a band format, and the risk-taking required to surprise and enchant both the members involved as well as an audience alike.
From humble underdog origins, through to a number one debut album, Brits and Grammy nods, and huge crowds in arenas and festivals all over the world, Bastille’s story pivoted with a career-shifting show at London’s Union Chapel during 2017.
In an intimate appearance for charity, rather than simply presenting the band as it was then, Dan Smith, Kyle Simmons, Will Farquarson and Woody enlisted a choir and strings/brass ensemble, rearranging and reinventing their entire set-list for the occasion.
And yet, unknowingly at the time, what was to spring from this performance was to flip the band’s perspective forever – igniting an insatiable desire to collaborate with an ever-evolving cast of world class, classically trained musicians across a series of increasingly high stakes appearances in globally revered venues, too often destabilising yet ultimately defining consequences.
Sourced from hundreds of hours of unseen archive and all-new conversations recently captured during the pandemic, the film features bracingly honest insights from all four band members plus characters inextricably linked to the group’s time thus far. It charts the very beginning of the band’s foundations all the way through their three albums to date, via landmark, full orchestra appearances at Royal Albert Hall, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, and The London Palladium, not to mention the inevitable tensions encountered en route.
The film is co-directed by long-time band collaborator Tom Middleton and Toby L (Foals – ‘Rip Up The Road’), an Up The Game film produced in association with Crooked Cynics, EMI and Amazon Music.

The first in-depth biography of Nipsey Hussle, the hip hop mogul, artist, and activist whose transformative legacy inspired a generation with his motivational lyrics and visionary business savvy—before he was tragically shot down in the very neighborhood he was dedicated to building up.
In the ten years since he first met Nipsey Hussle in the offices of Vibe, journalist Rob Kenner followed Hussle’s career, paying close attention to the music and business movement he was building in Los Angeles. Ten years later, they spoke again. To Kenner, it became clear that Hussle had been underestimated his entire life—not just for his artistry but also for his intellect and intentions.
For Nipsey Hussle, “The Marathon” was more than a mixtape title or the name of a clothing store; it was a way of life, a metaphor for the relentless pursuit of excellence and the willpower required to overcome adversity day after day. Hussle was determined to win the race to success on his own terms, and he wanted to see his whole community in the winner’s circle with him.
Combining on-the-ground reporting and candid interviews with Hussle’s friends, family, and peers, The Marathon Don’t Stop (out March 23, 2021) traces the life and work of an extraordinary artist, placing him in historical context and unpacking his complex legacy. For the first time ever, members of his inner circle will speak about the man they knew and his determination to maintain integrity amidst the treacherous extremes of street life and the rap game.
The Marathon Don’t Stop is a journalistic account of Nipsey Hussle’s life and times, making sense of the forces that shaped a singular figure in hip hop culture.
With the growing threat of plagiarism on the internet, programmers have found solutions to secure data and files that are not intended to be viewed by the public, as far as the creator is concerned. As for PDF files, there are platforms that allow content creators to provide a lock and safeguard their files from any unauthorized viewing or even usage.
The thing with unlocking PDF files is that not everyone has built-in unlocking tools on their devices. While there are available options like software installation, this is not really favorable considering the price you have to pay. For this reason, GoGoPDF exists. The glamour and excitement of casinos have been the inspiration for pop songs for decades, from Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley to Katy Perry and Mumford & Sons. If you are looking for some music to listen to while you play online bingo, consider some of the options here:
The Gambler
Artist: Kenny Rogers
Released in 1978, “The Gambler” was written by the Nashville songwriter Don Schlitz. About poker, a game at all casinos land-based or online like cherry jackpot casino, the classic chorus lines, “You’ve got to know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em,” is about a conversation with an old poker player on a train about poker and life. For Kenny Rogers, The Gambler gave him the title track to his biggest-selling album.
Luck Be A Lady
Artist: Frank Sinatra
Written by Frank Loesser in 1950 for the musical Guys and Dolls, this song was first performed in the theatre version by Robert Alda as gambler Sky Masterson. The lead role in the 1955 film version was Marlon Brando, with Frank Sinatra as Nathan Detroit. Frank Sinatra went on to become a regular at Las Vegas casinos during the1950s and 60s heyday and the song that he is probably most famous for sees him praying for the Craps gods to be on his side.
Waking Up In Vegas
Artist: Katy Perry
Written by Katy Perry in collaboration with Desmond Child and Swedish songwriter and producer Andreas Carlsson, a lot happens in Katy Perry’s 2009 song, including dressing up as Elvis and getting married to a stranger, which is what you get from waking up in Vegas. Perry has described Vegas as “an iconic place where lots of trouble goes down,” and says the song is fun and about getting into trouble and not regretting it. The song went to number one in charts about five years after it was actually written.
Snake Eyes
Artist: Mumford & Sons
British folk-rock band Mumford & Sons wrote this melodic track in 2015, about a man down on his luck who is pining for a former girlfriend, a dangerous and deceptive woman. Snake Eyes is a term for the ex, but also used for one of the worst rolls possible, double one in Craps, and is used in the song to describe the man’s bad luck leading him to lose everything.
Viva Las Vegas
Artist: Elvis Presley
Written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman in 1963 as the title song for the film of the same name starring Elvis Presley, one of his most famous and enduring movies. In the movie, the Elvis’ character is from out of town, and he has that enthusiasm and awe that comes with the chance of hitting it rich in the city, trying to win enough cash to buy himself a new car. The song has been used to promote Sin City since it captures the glitz and glamour with the promise: “If I wind up broke up well, I’ll always remember that I had a swingin’ time”.
Globally revered Irish artist Imelda May makes an eagerly awaited return with her first new music in four years. Her brand-new single “Just One Kiss” is straight down dirty rock n roll, joined by close friends and music legends Noel Gallagher on vocals and Ronnie Wood on guitar.
Imelda delves into desire, both romantic and carnal with “Just One Kiss,” It is a deliciously lustful low-slung blues number which showcases Imelda’s prowess as a wordsmith and storyteller, and of course – that mesmerizing voice. “That moment you know it can go either way. The sharp notion if you succumb you might just lose control. The split second decision you know might change everything, with just one kiss. Could you resist?”
After an idle texting exchange with her friend Noel Gallagher, he happily joined in to duet with Imelda and brought his “great vibe and kick-ass voice” to the steamy rock tale.
On guitar Wood, also a long-term pal (they met when they shared a stage in a Dublin blues basement when she was only 16) brings an alley-cat energy to the rollicking tune. Imelda says, “He’s just joyous to be around. It’s infectious. He’s fast, really on-the-ball, and he knows intuitively when something is working.”
Her sixth studio album 11 Past The Hour is a record that brims with sensuality, emotional intelligence, spirituality and intuition, marking a new chapter for Imelda and showcasing her at her most authentic. With pals and collaborators like Wood, Gallagher and Miles Kane, and with inspired contributions from feminist thinkers and activists such as Gina Martin and Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, the album is an invigorating blast of rock’n’roll, with a purpose.
Mostly written with co-producer Tim Bran (London Grammar, Primal Scream) and string arranger Davide Rossi (Coldplay, U2, Goldfrapp), this brave album shows an artist diving deep into her true self, her Irish roots, her love of storytelling and singing from her soul: “11 Past the Hour is my truth. I always write with meaning and from my heart as that’s the reason I write, to connect with my own story at each particular moment and I hope therefore I connect with others during theirs, even if just for a while. I’d like to think I can put into words and music what we all feel sometimes. We all laugh, sing, love, cry, dance, kiss, care. We all experience lust, anger, joy, worry, sorrow and hope. Sometimes we stay silent and hold it all in and sometimes we dance and throw it all to the wind with abandon but one thing is for sure is we are in this life together. Each song is a moment in my life. Each life is a moment in time. Every minute counts.”
The title track (written with Pedro Vito) opens the album with characteristic poetic vividness recalling the romance noir of a lost David Lynch soundtrack, while “Made To Love” is an anthem celebrating acceptance/LGBTQ+ communities and the startling piano ballad “Diamonds” (co-written with Ivor Novello winner Sacha Skarbeck) is a stirring stand out about digging deep to appreciate the true simplicity of love. Then, switching things up again, is the galloping Eighties pop-goth synth romp of “What We Did In The Dark,” a duet with Miles Kane. Just a few of the variety of views, multiplicity of voices, range of emotions and exciting, adventurous spread of sounds on 11 Past The Hour. But holding it all together is the big-hearted, big-thinking woman at the centre of it.
Born and raised in The Liberties area of Dublin, Imelda has become one of Ireland’s most famed female artists in history. Discovered by Jools Holland, who asked Imelda to go on tour with him, Imelda has gone on to perform duets with artists including U2, Lou Reed, Sinead O Connor, Robert Plant, Van Morrison, Jack Savoretti and Elvis Costello and has featured on recent albums & live tours with Jeff Beck, Jeff Goldblum and Ronnie Wood.
Her last album landed at No.5 in the UK Official Album Chart and she can count such artists as Bob Dylan and Bono amongst her fans. Last year, her 2008 album Love Tattoo was named the bestselling album of modern chart history by a homegrown female Irish artist by the Official Charts Company. Last summer, Imelda released her debut poetry EP Slip of the Tongue to widespread critical acclaim and received global recognition for her poem “You Don’t Get To Be Racist and Irish” used by the Irish government’s ReThink Ireland campaign for billboards across the country.
As ever, Imelda manages to cut through the noise, bringing her rich, sensual voice and exuberant personality to everyone and everything around her. 11 Past The Hour is an album of grit and glamour, of wee hours vocal huskiness and anthemic pop belters. Of poetry and power. Of love and sex and fun – this is Imelda May. This is her time.
