Talking Heads’ Chris Frantz Announces Memoir Coming In 2020

0

Faber and Faber announced that in Spring 2020 they will publish Remain in Love, the memoir of Chris Frantz, founding member of seminal bands Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club.

Talking Heads started in the spring of ’73 with a line of cocaine and a long walk around the Rhode Island School of Design campus. Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth and David Byrne wanted to play a different kind of music – dance music for smart kids. From a rough loft on Chrystie Street to legendary CBGB, to touring with the Ramones, The Pretenders, B-52’s, The Police, Dire Straits and many others, Talking Heads wrote the soundtrack for the punk and new wave movement. Chris Frantz remembers it all in thrilling detail and proposes a memoir as eclectic – and electrifying – as Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club.

Publication will fall around the time of the 40th anniversary of the release of Talking Heads’s masterpiece, Remain in Light.

Take care of your record collection with a record cleaning machine that is user friendly and innovative

Take care of your record collection with a record cleaning machine that is user friendly and innovative.

Using Degritter is simple: you insert the record into the machine, choose a washing program and press go. The machine will take care of everything else. Degritter will clean the record and dry it, both sides simultaneously. You can then play the record straight from the machine.

Based on our beta testing program we learned that it is best to clean your records before each listening.

All the maintenance you need to do with Degritter is to change the water in the detachable water tank (distilled water is recommended) from time to time (depends on how often you clean) and exchange the inline dirt filter after a few hundred cleaned records. The filter is easily accessible on the side of the machine.

Degritter uses high frequency ultrasonic cavitation to clean records. Cavitation means that the machine creates tens of thousands of little bubbles in the water that your record is cleaned in. As these bubbles collapse, they release energy which cleans the record. Bubble formation and collapsing happens over a hundred thousand times a second.
