Ziggy Marley, Oscar-nominated Yalitza Aparicio And Brazilian Stars Natiruts Encourage The Union Of The Americas In “América Vibra”

0

“No queremos hambre, nosotros somos vida. No queremos armas, nosotros somos paz. No queremos odio, nosotros somos amor,” Yalitza Aparicio recites in “América Vibra”

Kicking off the year with a powerful song and crying out for a better 2021, Brazilian band Natiruts invited one of the world’s greatest names in Reggae, Ziggy Marley, and Oscar-nominated Mexican actress Yalitza Aparicio to collaborate in “América Vibra.” More than a Reggae anthem, the song is a manifesto that calls on the peoples of the Americas to unite, demanding a world with more justice and love. At a time when duality and walls – both physical and structural – set us apart, “América Vibra” makes an urgent request for the bridging of barriers.

The song released on Wednesday 20th January, a symbolic day that marked an important change for the world, and the single radiates a desire for a more egalitarian continent.

Ziggy Marley says: “It’s a great pleasure to collab with Natiruts and Yalitza on this song “América Vibra”. My lyrics is talking about realizing what’s going on with the environment and wanting to see some justice in the world. If we don’t do anything, nothing is going to happen, so we have to do something. I have to do something, you have to do something – that’s what we’re talking about. If the future is not right, I will make it right. We can’t wait for somebody else to do it, we have to do it. We have to take care of the planet, take care of each other and just build a better world together. América vibra!”.

Composed by Alexandre Carlo and Ziggy Marley, and performed in Portuguese, English and Spanish, “América Vibra” is backed by an award-winning team: Felipe Tichauer, with 26 nominations for the Latin Grammy and the Grammy under his belt, is in charge of mastering; and mixing is handled by 10-time Grammy nominee Tony Maserati, one of the most successful sound engineers in the world, who has worked with artists such as Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, and Adam Lambert, among others. The song also features exclusive cover art by Kobra, one of the most renowned muralists of our day, with works in five different continents.

Directed by Rick Brombal, the music video is an exciting profusion of iconic images from the Americas (Brazil, Mexico, and the U.S.), encircled by nature, as in a kind of oasis, free from the hostile environment that surrounds them. In unison, Natiruts, Ziggy Marley, and Yalitza Aparício make an appeal for the union of peoples.

Natiruts lead singer Alexandre Carlo spoke about the context that led the band to vibrate for a fairer America: “There are invisible walls in society, created mainly by human relationships and experiences in the past that still affect our daily lives. In the case of Brazil, and especially the Americas, the main relationship that gives rise to these invisible walls is the colonization process, which favored some and greatly disfavored others.” He emphasizes the meaningful role of music in this process: “Music is a very important tool, because it changes the vibration frequency, people’s energy, it leads the hopeless to believe in their own potential. In this sense, music becomes quite important to tear down these invisible walls, and that is what our song proposes, and we hope that it can captivate the hearts and minds of many people, not only in Brazil, not only in the Americas, but in the entire world.”

“The importance of ‘América Vibra’ is to show that music has no boundaries and it’s a way to send messages of peace, just as unity makes us stronger in the face of adversity. When there’s respect among people, you can witness a real transformation,” actress Yalitza Aparicio explained. “I was thrilled when Sony invited me to participate, because I’ve always been a fan of reggae, I never believed that Ziggy and Natiruts could choose me to collaborate with them. I accepted immediately, albeit with fear, as being a part of this industry makes us targets to all kinds of criticism. I try to focus on the purpose of each project, because, as you know, I’ve always accepted the challenges that come to me, especially when they’re accompanied by such a strong and hopeful message,” she concluded.

In the future, the song will be part of the worldwide release of Natiruts new original project, which will be available on all digital platforms by early April. A well-established band that’s been around for more than 25 years, Natiruts’ compositions have the ability to speak of hope and positivity without falling into the trap of detachment.

Seven-time GRAMMY Award winner Carrie Underwood will follow the extraordinary success of her recent Christmas album, My Gift, with an album of gospel hymns, titled My Savior. The new album will be released on CD and Digital March 26, 2021, just prior to the Easter holiday, and on vinyl April 30. My Savior is co-produced by Underwood and GRAMMY® Award winner David Garcia, with whom she co-produced her critically acclaimed 2018 album Cry Pretty, her seventh album to be certified Platinum or Multi-Platinum by the RIAA.

My Savior, which will consist of covers of traditional gospel hymns Underwood grew up singing, is a spiritual companion to Underwood’s first-ever Christmas album. “It’s been such a blessing to make music like this, inspirational music that is near and dear to my heart,” says Underwood. “These two albums have been on my musical bucket list since the beginning of my career and were planned long before the events of the past year, but somehow it feels like the perfect time to share these beloved songs with the world.”

Underwood’s co-producer on My Savior, David Garcia, is a multi-platinum selling, four-time GRAMMY Award-winning record producer and songwriter. With his early roots in Christian music, over the past decade he has achieved chart-topping success across multiple genres of music with over 20 #1 songs to his credit. He has twice been named ASCAP’s Christian Music Songwriter of the Year (2015 and 2019), has written three ASCAP Award winners for Christian Music Song of The Year, as well as won nine Dove Awards. In addition to co-producing the Cry Pretty album, Garcia and Underwood’s collaborations include co-writing tracks such as her #1 hit “Southbound” (with Josh Miller), “Drinking Alone” and “Love Wins (both with Brett James), all of which have been certified Gold by the RIAA, as well as the original tracks “Let There Be Peace” and “Sweet Baby Jesus” (both with Brett James) on My Gift, among others.

Released September 25, 2020, My Gift topped charts throughout the holiday season. It debuted at #1 across multiple global charts, including Billboard Country, Christian and Holiday charts, marking Underwood’s eighth straight album to debut #1 on the Billboard Country chart. The album went on to claim the #1 spot on that chart for six non-consecutive weeks (four consecutive weeks). The album remained at #1 on the Christian chart for 14 weeks and debuted #1 on the UK country chart (her fifth #1 on the chart) and #1 on the Canadian country chart. My Gift consistently remained in the Top 5 on the Billboard Holiday Album Chart throughout the season, including #1 for six non-consecutive weeks. It reached #5 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 and appeared in the Top 10 for six non-consecutive weeks. Additionally, My Gift was the #1 selling album for 2020 in all genres at Amazon.

Five songs from My Gift appeared on the Top 40 Holiday Radio Music Chart: “Hallelujah” (duet with John Legend), which was the third most played current title across all radio stations running holiday music in 2020; “Little Drummer Boy” (featuring her 5-year-old son, Isaiah Fisher); “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas;” “Let There Be Peace” and “Mary, Did You Know?” Underwood became the first woman to replace herself at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart when “Hallelujah” sent her Amazon Exclusive “Favorite Time of Year” to the #2 spot, marking her third #1 on that list. Additionally, for three straight weeks, she held the top three slots on the list, with her recording of “Silent Night” at #3, making her the first artist to hold the top three positions on Hot Christian Songs for multiple weeks.

My Gift featured a combination of beloved traditional favorites celebrating the spiritual nature of the holiday, as well as several new originals, including the two written by Underwood, Garcia and James. GRAMMY® Award-winning producer, mixer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Greg Wells produced and arranged the album.

New Documentary on Acclaimed British Singer-Songwriter Paloma Faith Announced

0

BBC Music TV today announces Paloma Faith – As I Am, a one hour film for BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, which follows over a year in the life of the singer-songwriter, Paloma Faith.

Paloma has had number ones all over the world, multi-million albums sales, headlined Glastonbury and sung to tens of thousands every week, but in recent years, she has taken on her toughest challenge yet – having a baby.

With unlimited access to Paloma as a woman, a mother and an international pop-star in the public eye, this film follows Paloma on an emotional journey, as she balances the demands of a vital make-or-break tour with writing a new album, launching an acting career and being a first time mum.

The film observes Paloma’s life, both front and backstage, in the midst of a pivotal year in her career. It features appearances and contributions from Rag’n’Bone Man, Ty Taylor and Jonas Blue as well as her band, management and family members. We see her struggling with choices every mum will be familiar with, whilst embarking on enormous career challenges in a cut-throat business.

Paloma not only returns to work after having her baby, but also to huge expectations to break Australia and America. At every turn, we ask ‘Will Paloma pull it off? Will she be successful and if so, what sacrifices will she be forced to make?’

Paloma says: “I was very reluctant to let a camera into the very personal experience of working as a first time mum but Jane Mingay who made the film is also a mother and a friend so I felt safe. The result is very telling, exposed and at times emotional for me to watch. Also, I hope it’s a testament to all working mothers out there. As a feminist, I don’t believe in aiming for patriarchal ideals in order to be a success. I believe in embracing our feminine strengths and abilities in order to try and navigate success in a male dominated and judged world. The film I hope gives some insight into this.”

Jan Younghusband, Head of Commissioning, BBC Music Television says: “Paloma Faith – As I Am, from first time director Jane Mingay, shines a light on Paloma’s incredible achievements in her career to date, whilst also taking an honest look at the reality of balancing the commitments of parenthood with a demanding career. It’s a warm and often moving film and I’m delighted that we’ll be able to bring Paloma’s inspiring story to viewers on BBC Two.”

Paloma Faith – As I Am is a 1 x 60 film produced by Andy Glynne for Mosaic Films and directed by Jane Mingay. It was commissioned by Patrick Holland, Controller, BBC Two and Jan Younghusband, Head of Commissioning, BBC Music TV. It will be shown on BBC Two in the coming weeks.

Why social poker is so popular

0

Poker is an international, multi-billion-dollar industry that is only getting bigger. From the world renowned, televised tournaments in which huge jackpots are up for grabs, to smaller games between friends for a few spare coins, it all adds up to a hefty amount of money. Loads of different websites offer players the chance to rise up the ranks and play for more cash and bigger prizes.

All this could lead you to believe that poker is only worth playing if money is involved. That is not true. Outside of the games that play for cash prizes there is a lively social poker scene. In a nutshell, social poker is played for competitive fun and there is no money staked by players. It is a huge industry in itself with hundreds of different operators adding the game to its library over the past decade. It is also possible to play it in person, as long as there is no prize pot.

One reason why social poker is so popular is its ability to offer new players a risk-free experience during their first time playing. Even the best poker players on the planet had to start somewhere. Social poker provides the chance for novices, so players can search pa online poker and learn the ropes without the risk of having to stake their own money as players may be put off if in their inaugural match they are out of the running early on. If this happens in social poker, at least they haven’t lost any real cash.

Social poker is also popular as it can be used to convince first time players to give the game a go. Unfortunately, poker and iGaming in general still carry a slight stigma that could put some of your friends off trying it out. However, without the pressure of having to stake their own money, those who are cautious of trying poker out could much more easily be persuaded to give it a go. Once they get that first taste, they are sure to want to keep playing with their friends.

Social poker can also play a key learning role for intermediate players interested in playing new variants of the game. Someone could be the best Texas Hold’em player on the planet but have absolutely zero experience in other forms. This is where social poker comes in, as it offers players a chance to learn stud poker, H.O.R.S.E. and many more without the anxiety of losing their own money looming large.

As well as giving players opportunities to learn, social poker is also popular thanks to the more laid-back atmosphere it offers. We all know that playing for even a small amount of money can make poker a rather intense affair. For those looking for a more chilled hobby, social poker is ideal. The operators that host social poker often encourage players to chat along during the game. In this way, it can also be a great way to meet likeminded people online.

Are Free Spins the best bonuses you can get in online slots?

0

Bonuses are really an essential part of playing at online casinos. A good bonus can enhance your odds against the casino and raise the odds of you winning. However, there are a variety of different bonuses that could be presented including free spins, matched deposits, and credits. Free spins are extremely well known since you get to have fun for no cost, but are they the best bonuses you are able to get in internet slots like 100 Joker Staxx? Let’s see.

How Do Bonuses Work?

Before selecting a casino bonus, it is crucial to find out exactly how they work. Although the bonus process, terms, and wagering requirements will differ from casino to casino, the vast majority of online casinos deliver great incentives to customers and there are certain to be additional bonuses for new players.

If you receive a bonus, you receive extra cash in addition to the deposit you are making. For example, if there was a hundred percent casino bonus on  the £100 pounds you’re planning to begin with, a balance of £200 will be in your account on the casino site.

You are going to find numerous types of casino rewards, and many of them come with completely free spins on top. So you may not even need to choose between extra credits and cash or even the free spins.

When you are able to get both, then you will have a lot more time to play, not to mention, a lot more chances to win. Nevertheless, you do have to recognise the wagering requirements first, and this is exactly where free spins may just win out in terms of which kind of bonus is actually best.

Wagering Requirement Rules

The great bulk of casino bonuses have wagering requirements as part of their conditions and terms. To put it simply, the wagering requirement is exactly what the player has to pay before they are able to withdraw any winnings won using the extra money. Most casino bonuses have a wagering requirement of between forty to sixty times the initial stake.

So if you claim a £50 bonus with a wagering requirement of 50x, you will have to pay in £2,500 before you’re in a position to withdraw the winnings. So it may not be the ‘easy money’ you believed it was.

Apart from checking out the wagering requirements, players should look at the terms and conditions. All casinos have different rules about using the bonuses. At a few sites, players are not permitted to enjoy live casino video games with the additional money, for instance.

Not just that, but some slots may be restricted. And it is crucial to be mindful that most extras have a wagering limit, which means you are not permitted to bet more than a specific amount per spin.

Free Spins

Even though there are still going to be rules and regulations which relate to the free spins, they are usually a lot less strict than all those relating to the extra money and the matched deposits that casinos provide. So if you have a decision to make and free spins is actually among the options, this may indeed be the very best course to take.
