Queen + Adam Lambert ‘Live Around The World’ Announced For Release On October 2

0

Since their first appearance together in 2009 when Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor appeared as guests on the finale of the eighth season of American Idol on which Adam Lambert was a contestant, the combination of Queen + Adam Lambert has gone from strength to strength becoming one of the world’s biggest drawing touring bands. Their most recent tour of Oceania saw them selling out to massive audiences, with a single show at Sydney’s ANZ stadium drawing a record crowd of over 60,000. To date the band has played to a worldwide audience approaching 4 million.

Had this been different times, Brian, Roger and Adam would have just ended a further tour with a colossal run of 27 shows across 9 European countries. However the arrival of COVID-19 forced their imminent UK and European summer tour to be postponed until next year. With this in mind, Queen + Adam Lambert looked to other ways to console the almost half a million disappointed fans already holding tickets.

This is when they turned first to YouTube. No strangers to the platform with 12.5 million subscribers already following them, the band presented a special Queen + Adam Lambert ‘Tour Watch Party’, an hour-long show of live highlights from previous tours across the world. The positive engagement from fans worldwide showed that despite the global blackout of live shows, the show could still go on. But it wasn’t just the 500,000+ viewing fans who were impressed, so were the band themselves.

As hinted at in interviews recently, Queen + Adam Lambert have now confirmed they will release their first-ever live album Queen + Adam Live Around the World. The release comes worldwide October 2nd in CD, CD+DVD, CD+Blu-ray and Vinyl formats.

The set presents a compilation of concert highlights captured the world over personally selected by Taylor, May and Lambert from over 200 shows they have performed with several featured here becoming available for the very first time. These cover concerts from Rock in Rio, Lisbon, to the UK’s Isle of Wight Festival, Summer Sonic, Japan, selected UK and North America tour dates, and – from one of their very last performances before lockdown –the Fire Fight Australia benefit show. All formats include the band’s entire 22-minute Fire Fight Australia appearance in which they performed Queen’s original history-making 1985 Live Aid set in full: Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, Hammer To Fall, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Will Rock You and We are The Champions. While even Freddie Mercury’s iconic Ay-Ohs feature.

The twenty tracks featured include firm Queen fan favourites like ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ and ‘I Want To Break Free’ as well as rarities such as their versions of the Freddie Mercury penned “Love Kills” and “I Was Born To Love You”. The live album comes in CD, CD+DVD, CD+Blu-ray and Vinyl versions, with the DVD and Blu-ray featuring extra performance footage which include a Roger Taylor ‘Drum Battle’ with drummer son Rufus Taylor, and Brian May ‘Last Horizon’ guitar solo.

Brian May said of the historic live album: “As we all grapple with the challenge of creating live shows in a world dominated by a formidable viral enemy, it seemed the perfect time for us to create a collection of handpicked live highlights from our Queen shows over the last 7 years with our brother Adam Lambert.

May continues: “It’s a first! As you watch and listen to these tracks you’ll be journeying all around the world with us, and experiencing a complete virtual live set. The collection climaxes in Sydney earlier this year when, in support FireFight Australia, we recreated the complete Queen Live Aid set. It was a historic event for a great cause – with perhaps the highest adrenaline level since the original Live Aid in 1985. It makes me particularly happy that we can now share this unique moment with the whole world.”

While Adam Lambert added: “When we couldn’t tour this year we wanted to give the fans something in place of that, and a Live album just felt right. It’s the first time we have released an album together and we have had a lot of fun putting it together, picking out favorite performances over the past seven years.”

Queen + Adam Lambert’s only previously released track, their lockdown version of “You Are the Champions,” all the proceeds going towards the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund for The World Health Organization, was viewed close to 4 million times in its first month on YouTube.

Queen + Adam Lambert’s postponed 27-date UK and European Rhapsody Tour is now rescheduled to begin 23 May, 2021 in Bologna, Italy with its final date to be played in Madrid, Spain on 7 July. The full set of dates includes a 10-day residency at London’s The O2 Arena in June.

It is going to take the UK a year or two to stabilise and for things to begin getting back to normal.

0

At this point, no matter what happens to the economy, the rest of 2020 is going to be difficult for most people and the country. However, they do believe that they might be able to avert disaster. The chancellor, along with the UK Government, has a plan and is hoping that if things follow it, people are going to start bailing the economy out in small ways. The cash that households accumulated for the past three months will be spent rescuing bars, shops and restaurants from looming bankruptcy. The Government is also planning on withdrawing the furlough scheme, introduced by chancellor Rishi Sunak toward the start of the pandemic since it might not be necessary.

While most people were technically receiving their salaries through the Government’s scheme, the companies were not capable of handling the output that they thought they could, which meant they could not stand alone through the pandemic. Even with the assistance of the Government, a lot of people were losing their jobs. People who were working jobs that could be replaced by software or automation found themselves out of work while companies were struggling to reduce costs.

There are massive changes taking place in the job market in the UK, and not everyone can adapt to these new changes. The youngest section of the workforce, along with the oldest seems to be the worst suffering. In most cases, the youngest seems to lack the experience needed to hold a job since they would by default be the first to do, while the oldest are not always capable of adapting to these changes. With the largest number of companies in the UK needing human interactions, not only people but not all companies could keep up with these changes either.

According to the Paris-based thinktank, which is funded by 35 mostly rich countries, there will be  a rise in the unemployment rate to 14.8% which would take the UK to a higher level than France, Germany and Italy. All these countries had the worst experience with the Coronavirus pandemic, some even dealing with its harsh second wave.

With so much changing within companies, employers and employees are trying to keep up. No one predicted that almost all work in the UK would move online, allowing people to work on their tasks from their homes for the most part. Employers were no longer meeting the teams that they coordinated with in person, but over video and virtual calls. This lead most companies and their management to start handling background checks through the DBS. Not only was it convenient    to get this one, but it can be done online or through the phone without having to leave the office,

through a possess called the enhanced DBS check. Depending on the job description, a company is trying to match, the hiring requirements vary, with some of them needing candidates without a criminal record.

Why does the MOT test play such a large role in the UK?

0

The UK Government made it mandatory to register vehicles for their MOT tests after they complete three years of being on the road. The MOT is an annual test that vehicle owners have    to finish annually. A study conducted several years back showed most vehicle owners in the UK did not bother getting their vehicles tested unless they were facing serious issues with them. The unfortunate drawback was that the lives of the vehicle owner and others on the road could be at risk, which is one of the main reasons that the MOT test came about, to make sure that the vehicles plying on roads were safe, roadworthy, and gave out reduced emissions. Furthermore, each car, bike, or truck on the road had to have a valid MOT certificate.

The tests were standard with people applying and registering their vehicles, a month before their MOT licences expired. The UK has a little more than 30 million cars that go through the tests   every year. Multiple MOT testing centres across the country managed these tests with some of these centres also fixing the vehicles, along with the test, while others only handled testing them. However, the coming in of the Coronavirus caused a few issues with the tests, with the dates and timings changing because the pandemic caused some employment issues.

People did not want to leave their houses since there was a possibility of catching the virus, and adding to that the Government implemented remote working, staying at home as much as possible, wearing masks and other such norms to keep people safe. The last time that the MOT test was redone and improved was in 2018, and post the new test more than 10 million cars across the UK did not make it through. The Government did not want a repeat of the same, so  they allowed people to test their cars, if they wanted, but did implement a six-month delay for people from 30th March to 31st July. Their only clause was that people had to make sure their   cars were roadworthy if they wanted to be driven on the road. There were higher fines for people driving vehicles that were not roadworthy.

Even though there was a delay, June received almost 1.3 million MOT registrations since most people did not want to wait for the queues, post the registrations becoming mandatory again. To assist people with these tests, the Government implemented rules allowing people to book MOT or even check MOT status from the previous year, online. This made the entire process easier for   a lot of the people who did not have to do to the MOT centre unless they had an appointment.

Some garages were assisting with these requirements further by sending people to the homes of their clients to collect their vehicles, get them tested and bring them back..

Why is Michael Jackson a pop culture icon?

0

Michael Jackson, aka MJ, was a legendary artist who broke several records, overcame racial boundaries, and revolutionized the music industry. His groundbreaking creativity paved the way for others and changed the traditional patterns of song promotion and production. No wonder, he has been touted the King of Pop.

From songs that inspired people to care for the Earth such as ‘Earth song’, songs that challenged racial stigma such as ‘Black or White’, and dance-hits such as ‘The Way You Make Me Feel,’ Jackson gained worldwide success. When he passed away on 25 June 2009, the world was taken by shock and millions of global fans mourned the loss of a legend. Even today, when asked to write a pop culture essay on cultural icons, several of his fans write a Michael Jackson essay solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest performers to have ever lived. Here are the top reasons why Michael Jackson was and is a pop culture icon even today.

Fashion

MJ was famous for defying conventional fashion and would often sport clothes that showcased his intriguing persona. He often performed in a red zippered jacket and white rhinestone-embedded glove. Even today, fashion students remark on Michael Jackson’s exceptional fashion sense and are often asked to write essays about MJ. He is still remembered for his fashion choices that include a fedora, sequined gloves, aviator sunglasses, red leather jackets, black high-waisted pants and white socks. At the height of his fame, he inspired fashion trends globally.

Dance

Jackson was globally famous for many of his dance moves. But among them, the most iconic has to be the ‘Moonwalk’ that he debuted during his performance of ‘Billie Jean’. The performance aired on a TV special, Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever, on 16 May, 1983. Another famous move of his, the Crotch grab as it was dubbed, was met with mixed reactions from his fans. However, when followed by the pelvic thrust, this gained popularity as another of his famous dance move.

The Anti-gravity lean that was made possible thanks to specially designed shoes was one that attracted a lot of excitement amongst Michael Jackson’s fan-base. Apart from his other dance moves such as The robot and the MJ spin, he was also famous for doing the toe stand, a move in which he stood on his toes and his cropped pants and white socks added to the flair.

Music Videos

Before MJ, pop stars didn’t assign extravagant budgets on their singles. He changed the way those videos were produced by replacing low-cost visual promos with high-budget short films.

In 1983, Jackson released the video for ‘Thriller’, produced by Quincy Jones, which is one of the most innovative and successful videos to date. The video was made iconic with the ingenious zombie dance choreography, the costumes, and the camera work. The set of the video cost $500,000 and was one of the most expensive videos ever produced. The 13 minutes and 42 seconds long video was given a film-like backstory that was unique for videos at the time.

The Jackson 5

Even before MJ’s solo accomplishment, he had gained popularity in popular culture as the lead singer of the group, the Jackson 5, during the 1960s. The group was widely successful, and besides having many hit records, they also had a cartoon series and a variety show.

In pop history, they became the first group to have their first four singles top the charts. The songs were ‘I’ll be there’, ‘I want you back’, ‘The love you save’ and ‘ABC’. The song ABC was nominated for a GRAMMY in the category Contemporary Vocal Performance by A Duo, Group or Chorus.

The GRAMMY Awards

Jackson won 13 GRAMMYs in his lifetime for several big categories such as ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Record of the Year’. He made history at the 26th Annual GRAMMY Awards by being the first to win 8 GRAMMYs on the same night.

Along with his GRAMMYs, he has also been awarded the prestigious GRAMMY Legend Award – A Recording Academy Special Merit Award. The award has only been presented to 15 individuals to date and is awarded to groups or individuals for ongoing contributions and influence in the recording field. He earned the award in 1993 and was the 10th recipient of the award.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

Jackson made history by being the first celebrity ever to have two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the same category. He first earned his spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his group act, Jacksons, formerly known as Jackson 5 in 1980. Later, he earned a recording star again as a solo act.

He was also inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the first time with his family Jackie, Marlon, Jermaine, and Tito and the second time in 2001 as a solo artist. If you need more pop culture essays, you can find them on StudyDriver.

Posthumous success

In the week after Michael Jackson’s death, he became the first singer with more than 1 million digital tracks sold in a week. He was also dubbed the first in popular music history to have the three best-selling albums in the US. He was also dubbed the first to have six of the 10-best-selling albums.

In 2017, Michael Jackson’s single ‘Love never felt so good’ from the album that launched after his death, Xscape, reached no. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. As such, he became the first-ever to score a top 10 hit on the Billboard hot 100 in five consecutive decades.

Years after his death, MJ remains in the hearts of his fans and will continue to do so for a long time. Even though he is no longer alive, he leaves behind his legacy of an iconic fashion statement, dance moves and videos that his fans cherish even today.

Music Education — Should You Go to a Music School?

0

So, should you go to a music school? Well, statistically speaking, probably not — because music schools, compared to other study fields, won’t make statistical sense to most. While there is no precise data to show this, we believe that the trends and patterns are pretty obvious.

Most music graduates will teach privately, work outside of music while occasionally gigging or working in another facet of the music industry. Worst case? They leave the music business altogether, and some find their way back into the college system after pursuing masters and doctorate.

Success is a subjective term, and while certain things don’t appeal to you, it certainly does to other people. On the other side, there are inspiring stories of actual music scholars who achieved their dreams. Some touring musicians play in the world’s biggest bands, some highly successful music producers, and a few artists who have built a name from the ground up.

Let’s not forget that colleges and universities need money to survive; they need students enrolling and paying tuition. So, when such institutions market themselves by organizing tours of their campuses, sending out newsletters, they are also showcasing a small percentage of their accomplished graduates. Though sometimes, extra help is needed for students to create room to attend music classes. This then warrants situations of getting help from a paper writing service.

The sad part in all of this is that a music certificate, unlike those from other fields, is not attractive to white-collar employees. It’s faster for recruiters to discard a music degree holder than would an information technologist. That said, let’s then talk about the exact reasons why you should get a music degree.

Benefits of Music Education

All parents want the best for their children. But are they exposing them to extracurricular activities that have a lasting impact that they’re hoping for? The answer for most is “No”. In that case, maybe it’s time to consider music more seriously.

Music education during childhood has been shown to have a multitude of benefits. It sharpens students’ attentiveness, abstract reasoning, and creativity. Children who are musically trained have more energy in everyday listening and memory skills.

Besides, music engages both sides of the brain and challenges children to concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously. Music and maths are highly intertwined by understanding beats, rhythm, and scales.

Even the youngest music makers are learning how to divide, create fractions, and recognize patterns. Also, children develop coordination and motor skills, as well as self-discipline and self-esteem. Students who participate in music programs consistently score higher in mathematics and the English language than their peers.

Studies have also shown that individuals who took music lessons as children often show stronger neural processing of sound even up to 50 years later. Music education is a prerequisite that provides vital skills that could bolster other skills that you possess. Deciding to enroll your child in the music class is a no-brainer. You should invest in building your child’s cognitive and emotional development and give them the gift of music.

So, What Is It All About? Let’s Sum Up!

Music is everywhere; it literally surrounds you through the whole life of yours. Music is in every movie, so it provides identity to our community. Music seems to constantly enlight the best moments of your life. It gives us a common thread and gives us a way to relate to one another.

We’re up in an isolated period when the COVID-19 pandemic has taken over most of our freedom: music has not only become an outlet for expressing our inner selves, it has also become the closest feel of why and how we used to do things. Undoubtedly, people have gained both hope and faith by watching different singers over the Internet.

Music has applications beyond music class because it goes into math and teaches reading, he teaches accounting it shows you fractions, it goes into a science — the science of anatomy, the science of sound.

Students have the opportunity to gain pride in themselves; they learn social-emotional training in the classrooms; they can develop character; the performance on stage. Music can develop them physically; there’s rhythmic movement; there’s fine motor movement in music.

Arts education is extremely valuable. That’s why we have to advocate for the uptake of music at every level of human experience. The more we do, the more the word will be out everywhere. Thus, do not underestimate music as a student!

Californian Education: Will Cybersecurity Fit?

0

Every state in America has its educational policy, and California is no exception. However, some aspects may influence the content of syllabi in Universities in California. As the latter has become the technological center, cybersecurity and media literacy will likely have greater incorporation in education here. Thus, very soon, students will do Norton 360 versus Avast comparison as their homework instead of writing an essay “The Role of Technology in Modern Life.”

Overview

Admittedly, the most attractive and popular professions for California students are those related to the following areas:

Cinematography, TV, and theater. It is the American state that the dream of any actor and director is located. Hollywood is here. Three leading universities of the industry operate here: the School of Cinematography of the University of Southern California, the School of Theater, Film, and Television of the same university in Los Angeles, the Department of Film and Media University of California, Berkeley.

IT, engineering, and technology majors. California is home to many of the leading technology companies. The overwhelming majority of the headquarters of the top corporations are located in Silicon Valley.

Economics, law, entrepreneurship, or medicine. One of the most sought-after universities with suitable qualifications is Davis University. It is here that you can get quality education in these areas. The university is a division of the University of California. Therefore, among the listed professions, it offers education in medicine or veterinary medicine.

Naturally, the matter of cybersecurity is closely approached in IT majors and disciplines. Nonetheless, thinking that it may be omitted in other ones is deeply wrong. Cybersecurity matters are issues every modern person faces daily, especially in the time of online privacy violations and personal data theft. In this regard, the cybersecurity subject is vital for all, including content creators, economists, attorneys, and doctors.

Where to Incorporate The Change?

To make the following generations aware of cybersecurity’s importance, it may be integrated at different educational stages.

Primary education

Schooling is compulsory for local residents and visiting students and begins at the age of 6. Simultaneously, the term “schooling” also means a specific pool of knowledge and skills one is supposed to have after finishing it, namely, their competencies.

For primary education, there is no urgent need to introduce additional classes for cybersecurity. However, a rational action will be the incorporation of this matter into other disciplines. Private educational institutions have a special place in the educational system of the state. The best private schools in California are located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego, and Pato Alto. Institutions of this type are actively implementing the idea of a variety of educational programs and creating conditions for students’ comprehensive development.

Hence, it may become a progressive idea to discuss such a topic in computer classes, maths, or even English. The point of the introduction to cybersecurity is proving its importance and adding it to an overall educational discourse.

Higher education

The local higher education system is based on the California Master Plan for Higher Education curriculum, adopted back in the 60s of the last century, and went through a significant transformation ever since. Over time, the Californian structure became one of the best in the whole country, giving other states an example. Consecutively, the higher education realm is a massive field for introducing exercise in cybersecurity for students.

Students are free to choose some of the disciplines that will constitute their syllabi. That’s why universities can add cybersecurity as an independent discipline or incorporate it thematically in the existing discipline programs. The practice provides multiple opportunities for exercise: from principles of making a strong password for a personal account to figuring out the most suitable security software on the market.

Post-graduation

The next stage of higher education is a master’s degree or Ph.D.: these two paths are chosen for themselves by students who are interested in development related to scientific activity. At this particular stage, students are expected to be familiar and skillful in cybersecurity. Basic knowledge is a must. Before all, it is about securing personal, corporate, and research data.

As a result, educational standards and the thematic content of all the majors both reflect and get impact from what is going on in the world. In this regard, the gradual incorporation of cybersecurity programs on all stages is a necessity of time.

Car Emissions And MOT

0

Testing exhaust emissions now form part of the MOT test, and examiners have had to study the new rules to ensure that our vehicles are safe not only for the road but for the environment as well.

Changes to the UK’s standard MOT test were made in 2018 and from May that year, when the new regulations kicked in, a staggering increase of 114 per cent was recorded.

Diesel-powered vehicles got the wrong end of the stick with a 63 per cent hike in the MOT fail rate.

Forewarned Is Forearmed

If your MOT is coming up soon, it is helpful to be aware that the emissions testing is now part of the MOT examination.

If your car’s emissions are too high, then it’s an outright fail.

There are a few indicators that warn you your car could be tipping over the emissions’ edge:

  • Exhaust emitting blue smoke for more than five seconds. This is deemed a significant fault and will result in an immediate fail
  • The vehicle cannot exceed the restrictions for emissions set out by the government. This information can be found on your vehicle’s DVA registration document
  • If your car is a diesel and its particulate filter (DPF) has been removed or tampered with. This device, fitted to modern diesel cars from 2009, stop soot from emitting from the exhaust and into the atmosphere
  • If your dashboard displays an engine management light, which is a red flag signalling problems with the emissions system

How Is Part Of This MOT Test Carried out?

Vehicles that qualify to have their exhaust emissions tested as part of the roadworthy certificate have it done with a special meter.

Petrol vehicles made before August of 1975 are tested by sight and if they emit blue smoke for five seconds or longer will fall into the “major fail” category. The same applies to diesel vehicles that came out before January 1980. The problem has to be rectified before you can get an MOT certificate according to government stipulations.

Your Vehicle Is Exempt From This Part Of The MOT Test if:

  • it has less than four wheels
  • it is a hybrid – a combination of petrol and electric
  • it purely runs on electric
  • it has a two-stroke engine
  • it is a quadricycle
  • it is a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle

It’s Not Only An MOT You Need To Be Worried About

If it’s still a while before your MOT D-day, then don’t be complacent because police in most counties carry out roadside checks. If your vehicle fails the emissions’ test, you get an immediate “prohibition notice”. This means you’ll only have ten days to fix the problem. If you fail to comply, you will be prosecuted.

Look It Up

Tom Petty’s Long-Awaited ‘Wildflowers’ Comprehensive Collection To Be Released: ‘Wildflowers & All The Rest’

0

During Tom Petty’s final interview with the Los Angeles Times, as the triumphant 40th anniversary tour with The Heartbreakers was coming to an end, he announced that his next big focus would be to finally revisit his 1994 masterpiece, Wildflowers, co-produced with Rick Rubin and Mike Campbell.

Wildflowers in many ways changed Tom’s creative life—as a recording artist, collaborator and band leader—while a profound, personal crisis transformed the stories and emotional thrust in his songs. Tom ultimately wrote more songs than he could release at the time. In fact, Tom, Rubin and Campbell completed the album as a double CD with 25 songs, nearly two hours of music, but his label advised restraint. Released on November 1, 1994, Wildflowers—a single CD with 15 songs, still more than an hour in length—was Tom’s most acutely confessional album to date.

The resurrection of Wildflowers has been a long time coming. In a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone Tom detailed his plans for the reissue, telling the magazine, “I broke through to something else. My personal life came crashing down, and it derailed me for a while. But I was at the top of my game during that record.” Then again in 2016 on SiriusXM’s Tom Petty Radio, he discussed his desire for a Wildflowers tour to coincide with a reissue. Tom had always intended to release the second half of the album—a collection he named All The Rest, featuring ten songs from the Wildflowers recording sessions that were left off the original version and five unreleased tracks (different versions of four other songs would appear on the soundtrack to the 1996 film, She’s The One).

Wildflowers & All The Rest, the long-awaited Wildflowers reissue and comprehensive collection, will be released on October 16 via Warner Records. Tom’s vision of the project is becoming a reality due to the commitment of his loving family, bandmates and collaborators who helped unearth many previously unheard gems. The compilation was curated by Tom’s daughters, Adria and Annakim Petty and his wife Dana Petty who call it, “Many, many hours of pure sonic joy,” as well as Heartbreakers Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench, and was produced by Tom’s longtime engineer and co-producer Ryan Ulyate. Together they stewarded the warmth Tom created through his music and relationship to his fans.

Out now, “Wildflowers (Home Recording),” a solo demo version of the classic title track, has premiered alongside a video featuring never before seen footage of Tom at his home, shot by Martyn Atkins during the recording of Wildflowers. The video was co-directed by Alan Bibby and Jonny Kofoed and produced by Assembly. Watch the video HERE. The significance of the song was revealed in David Fricke’s essay written for the liner notes of the collection: “It would be some time before he understood the complexity of ‘Wildflowers.’ It was, he realized, ‘me singing about me.’” This morning, Mike Campbell, Adria Petty, and Ryan Ulyate spoke with Fricke about the new collection and premiered the home recording on SiriusXM’s Tom Petty Radio (channel 31).

Wildflowers & All The Rest will be released in multiple formats. Wildflowers & All The Rest—Deluxe Edition features 15 recordings made by Tom in his home studio as he was writing the album. These solo demos provide an intimate look at Tom’s songwriting process, where he plays all the instruments and revises lyrics as he works. The Deluxe Edition is rounded-off with 14 live performances of songs from Wildflowers, recorded on various tours from 1995 to 2017. Wildflowers & All The Rest—Super Deluxe is a Direct to Consumer Limited Edition set featuring Finding Wildflowers—16 studio recordings of alternate takes of Wildflowers songs as Tom, band members and Rubin honed-in on the final album.

The collection features incredibly special packaging across the various formats. The Super Deluxe Edition is the most complete; it includes an introduction penned by Rick Rubin, the aforementioned essay written by David Fricke—“Somewhere You Feel Free: Tom Petty’s Road to Wildflowers, ” lyrics to all the songs on Wildflowers and All The Rest, as well as an in-depth track-by-track by Jaan Uhelszki with contributions from Rubin, Ulyate, Wildflowers engineer Jim Scott, Heartbreakers live mixing engineer Robert Scovill, and Heartbreakers Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench and Steve Ferrone.

Adria Petty also oversaw the creative direction for the Wildflowers project, with original packaging illustrations by Blaze Ben Brooks, original cover beadwork by Maria Sarno, as well as Wildflowers-era photography by Mark SeligerRobert Sebree and Martyn Atkins.

Tom Petty released 16 studio albums and over 180 songs over the course of his 40-year career.      Wildflowers was the first album of a long-term renaissance. It was Petty’s fastest selling album and was certified Triple Platinum only nine months after its release. The album was always deeply significant to him. As proof, five of the 18 songs performed at his final live concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles came from the album. Wildflowers—his solo masterpiece, a personal triumph and the album Petty needed to make at that moment, at any cost—is finally here as he intended it and beyond.
