New Order have shared rare archive footage of a performance of their classic single ‘Ceremony’. Filmed at Manchester’s CoManCHE Student Union on February 6, 1981, the clip is taken from their upcoming reissue of their brilliant album ‘Movement‘. The rarely seen footage was previously released on the FACT 56 compilation video.

Between his first two solo albums “Here Come The Warm Jets” and “Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)” Brian Eno released Seven Deadly Finns, the lively and compelling single, and it’s a great video to see where he was going before firmly landing on his experimental ambient sound.

You can find the original version of Roxy Music’s Ladytron on their eponymous debut album. The song has distinctive instrumentation, including an oboe solo, liberal use of the mellotron’s famous “three violins” tape set, and much processing of the other instruments by Brian Eno via his VCS3 synthesizer and tape echo. The sound in the start of the song was created by Brian Eno, after Bryan Ferry asked him to produce something reminiscent of the Lunar Landing.
The British electronic band Ladytron took their name from this song, by the way.
