Charlie Puth Enlists Boys II Men For “If You Leave Me Now”
Today, multi-platinum artist/songwriter/producer Charlie Puth has released his new track, “If You Leave Me Now” featuring the famed R&B vocal trio Boyz II Men, available now at all music retailers and streaming services HERE. “If You Leave Me Now” marks the third song released from Puth’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, Voicenotes, and the follow-up to 2016’s RIAA Platinum certified debut album, Nine Track Mind. Last night, Puth announced the new release date for Voicenotes, which will now arrive May 11th.
2017 proved to be a massively successful year for Puth, as he unveiled critically-acclaimed instant-hits “Attention” and “How Long,” the first two singles from Voicenotes, the eagerly-awaited album he is fully producing on his own. The album’s first single “Attention” – which became Puth’s fifth RIAA-certified platinum selling single, third Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 and first #1 on pop radio – cracked 3 million Spotify streams in just a week, while its sexy music video racked up over 3 million views in under 24 hours. The New York Times praised it as “a sinister thumper,” while noting upon the release of “How Long” that “the once tightly controlled pop-soul singer is maturing with a robust second act full of bruises.” Puth’s current smash single, “How Long,” has officially entered the Top 10 on both Hot AC and Top 40 radio formats, and was named by Vanity Fair as one of “The 17 Best Pop Songs of 2017.” “How Long” is joined by an even more popular companion visual, currently boasting over 200 million views via YouTube alone.
Puth recently announced plans for his biggest North American headline tour to date. Produced by Live Nation, “The Voicenotes Tour” officially gets underway July 11 at Toronto, ON’s Budweiser Stage and travels the continent through the summer (see full itinerary below). Highlights include dates at New York City’s world-famous Radio City Music Hall (July 16) and the renowned Greek Theatre in Los Angeles (August 14). Multi-Platinum recording artist Hailee Steinfeld will be main support on all dates.
In addition to performing for a third year in a row on the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour, with the Los Angeles Times praising his “genuine charm and daffy enthusiasm” at the stop at The Forum, Puth capped off 2017 with explosive performances of “How Long” on both The Voice and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Prior to that, he performed the track on Good Morning America (watch) & The Late Late Show with James Corden (watch). Puth will perform “How Long” on upcoming episodes of the nationally syndicated Ellen DeGeneres Show and CBS’ The Talk, both set to air in early January.
Bruno Mars And Cardi B Are Drippin’ In “Finesse” On New Remix Collaboration
Global superstar Bruno Mars has teamed up with GRAMMY-nominated breakout hip-hop star Cardi B for a brand new remix of “Finesse,” from Mars’ GRAMMY-nominated blockbuster third album, 24K MAGIC. The remix is now available at all DSPs, with the high-energy companion video below.
Mars rounded out an all-star year with six total GRAMMY nominations, including recognition in the ‘Big Three’ with 24K MAGIC (Album of the Year), the album’s title track (Record of the Year), and “That’s What I Like” (Song of the Year). Mars also received three nominations in the R&B category, including Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for “That’s What I Like,” and Best R&B Album for 24K MAGIC. The 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards will air January 28th on CBS.
GRAMMY nominated rap superstar Cardi B rounds out an all-star 2017 by releasing her next smash single, “Bartier Cardi” featuring 21 Savage. While Cardi is currently featured on several hit tracks – G-eazy’s “No Limit” ft. A$AP Rocky, Migos’ “Motorsport” ft. Nicki Minaj, and Ozuna’s “La Modelo” – “Bartier Cardi” marks the rapper’s official second single release follow up to this year’s breakthrough smash “Bodak Yellow.” Cardi B has recently been named as the third act – alongside The Beatles and Ashanti – and first rapper to have her first three entries in the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10 simultaneously.
David Duchovny To Release Sophomore Album, “Every Third Thought”
David Duchovny will release his second album Every Third Thought on February 9th via King Baby/GMG. This is the follow up to 2015’s Hell or Highwater that Rolling Stone called “a likable, lyrically tart, vaguely Wilco-ish debut album.” Every Third Thought moves away from the folkier vibe of the debut set into more rock territory. Recorded at Atomic Sound in Brooklyn in December 2016, the album showcases Duchovny’s storytelling and playing: “I feel like this Album presents a real growth lyrically and musically from the first and I can’t wait to get it out there.”
The album will be initially released digitally and on streaming services with plans for CD and vinyl to be announced soon.
It is surprising to know that David Duchovny only picked up a guitar a few years ago in a spell of free time, between projects, at first just to amuse himself but as he started playing, felt inspired to start writing songs. He grew up listening to classic late 60’s early 70’s rock: The Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, Yes etc… along with a lot of funk which he aspires to play, joking he’ll need to become a better musician to do so.
David Duchovny is best known as an award winning actor, director and novelist starring in the smash TV series The X-Files (winning a Golden Globe for the role.) His first novel Holy Cow was released by Farrar Straus and Giroux in February 2015 and hit the New York Times Best Sellers’ list. This was followed up by his second novel, Bucky F*cking Dent, which also hit the New York Times Best Sellers’ list, and was released globally in 2016.
In 2015, David completed his first studio album for for ThinkSay Records titled Hell or Highwater touring both Europe and the US in support.
David reprised his award winning role as Fox Mulder January 3rd on The X-Files. His third book, Miss Subways, will be released globally in May of 2018, and David is planning on Directing and Producing his novel, Bucky F*cking Dent into a film summer of 2018. He also plans to hit the road in support of his new album, first in Australia and New Zealand in February with U.S. plans to be announced soon.
