Around the same time, he landed his star-making role as Vinnie Barbarino in the TV sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter. A year later, Travolta had a hit single titled “Let Her In”, peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July 1976, becoming one of his 5 Top 40 Billboard hits.

Terri Nunn, Best known as the lead vocalist of the new wave/synthpop band Berlin, once auditioned for the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars, but the role went to Carrie Fisher, noting also that Harrison Ford “did not like” Nunn. She went on to act in numerous television shows in the 1970s and 1980s, including T.J. Hooker, Lou Grant and James at 15. According to her interview on Audience Network, she was offered the part of Lucy on the upcoming series Dallas but turned it down because she would have to sign a seven-year contract.

Maestro Fresh Wes Releases “Somewhere Down the Line” featuring Adam Bomb
Fresh off the cross-Canada tour with Classified and Choclair, Canada’s Godfather of Hip Hop, Maestro Fresh Wes, kicked off 2019 by hitting the studio. His newest single, Somewhere Down The Line, features Toronto’s Adam Bomb (Natural Born Strangers, Freedom Writers). The single is the first release off Maestro’s upcoming album, Champagne Campaign, to be released in early 2019.
2018 was a stellar year for Maestro: in addition to the cross-country tour, he wrapped the 8th and final season of the sitcom, Mr. D, on CBC Television, and shut it down in Edmonton as part of the lineup for the 2018 Pre-Grey Cup Events.
2019 is gearing up to be even more memorable. With his new album in the works, he’s also looking forward to celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the release of his landmark single, LET YOUR BACKBONE SLIDE. The release of that single not only catapulted Maestro’s career, but made him a household name when the single became the first rap release to go gold in Canada.
Myles Goodwyn of April Wine Reunited With His Stolen Guitar – 46 Years Later!
I’ll let Myles Goodwyn tell you what happened. He is, after all, one of music’s great storytellers.
A most remarkable thing has happened. Today I was reunited with my beloved 1962 Gibson Melody Maker after it was abducted 46 years ago. She was 10 years young when she was taken and 56 years old when she was returned this afternoon. And damn she looks good!
I have posted pictures of her over the years (I had only 5 pictures of her in total) and I lamented openly about how she was my favorite guitar (my only guitar for some years) and that I missed her still. We found each other in 1968 in Cape Breton, N.S. We were in a group called East Gate Sanctuary for a while and later with April Wine.
And then one day in 1972 she was involved in a truck accident and I was told that she was destroyed, and the body parts tossed away before I could see the damage for myself. In other words, she was stolen from me, plain and simple although I didn’t know it at the time. I was sad, and I was pissed and all these years I thought she was “gone” forever.
The day before Christmas, December 24, 2018, I got a message on FB from a fellow named Randy informing me that my guitar was in Victoria, B.C. alive and well and if I wanted it back to call a guy named Doug. I couldn’t believe it. It’s now been 46 years since I was told she was destroyed. I was sent a picture of the guitar Doug had at his house perched on a guitar stand as a conversation piece! (btw, Doug had bought legitimately in 2005) and I knew instantly that it was my long-lost MM. WOW!!!
I contacted Doug, worked out some details (I bought it back) and I had my guitar shipped and delivered to the door. Today! I’m still in shock and very grateful to Randy and Doug.
….what an AWESOME way to start a new year!!
