Eight things to look forward to in 2020

0

Welcome to a brand-new decade. 2020 has started. Yes, numerically, things have changed. But this year will probably be like the rest of the years. It will have some depressing events, a lot of happy moments, and a few confusing things. However, just like the last year, it will pass, too. However, statistically speaking, there are a couple of good things that you should do in 2020. So, here we have come up with a few interesting, maybe good, and 100% noteworthy things to look forward to in 2020. Hold on tight, and take out your calendars because this one is going to be one helluva wild ride.

Summer Olympics of 2020 in Tokyo

Don’t we all love the Olympics? Jia, who offers the best digital marketing course online, says that other than Olympics, there are rarely any occasions when you and your fellow citizen get collectively happy about the beach volleyball. Good thing is that this 2020 Olympics will feature a couple of new sports too. These include sports climbing, karate, surfing, skateboarding, and baseball/softball. Further, there will be a couple of new events, too, in the categories already established. Also, when the event is happening in Tokyo, which is a culturally rich and technologically equipped country, the games will get even more festive.

New releases, new movies

Sarah, who offers online statistics homework help, says that the year 2020 is going to be another eventful year at the box office. Love superhero movies? Well, there’s going to be Wonder Woman 1984, Black Widow, and a lot more of them. Further, it is going to be another year of great franchise movies. Get all excited for Fast and Furious 9 and the all-new Fantastic Beasts movie. Top Gun: Maverick, is another movie to look forward to in this year. If you thought remakes were a 2019 thing, you are wrong. Mulan and West Side Story are all set for a fresh new look, packaging, and appeal. Sci-Fi movie Sonic the Hedgehog, is another release to look forward too, in this year.

The launch of the Yahoo! Time capsule

Remember the year 2006, when Yahoo invited its users to place digital artifacts of what and how life would be like, in a virtual time capsule? Several people actively participated in this. Yahoo received tens of thousands of works of art, pictures, videos, poems, and other submissions. The final output of the same was sent over for safekeeping to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. If you don’t know, Yahoo did this, with an agenda of launching the capsule on their 25th Birthday, which is in 2020. Excited? Well, get set for a huge Pandora box of cringe-worthy MySpace pics and a whole range of cat memes.

Elections

Of course, you wouldn’t dare to call elections fun. But, did we say that we are including only the fun things? No! It is a list of things that you should look forward to in 2020, and elections are indeed one of them. It doesn’t matter how many ulcers the US Presidential race gives you, it is the most eventful time in the US, and will affect us all, alike. So, do what you are expected to do. Get a little more political, learn about the trends and history of voting, and get set for the November elections. It is not just the main event, but the fact that 11 states are conducting gubernatorial election this year, is what’s exciting to look forward to. Justin, who offers assignment help online, says that in just a span of a few months, the entire dynamics of the country can significantly change.

2020 Mars Mission

Another event to look forward to in 2020 is the Mars Mission. The new rover is heading for the planet either in early August or towards the end of July. Rhea, who provides research paper writing service, says that anytime the scientists get a chance to be rockstars is an event worth celebrating for the entire world. So, get ready for the 2020 rover to rock and roll on Mars. It is equipped with 2 microphones and 23 cameras, all to capture the sound and give a feed of the rover landing the red planet. Be ready to get hooked soon!

The newly opened monument in Washington

All of us know that the Washington Monument was shut for public viewing for the past three years. Ron, who help students when they ask help to write my essay, says that during this while, the monument was getting a new elevator system and a fine security screening area. It does seem like a long time, but it is required to not err when it comes to the security and safety of the citizens. Hopefully, by the end of September, the Washington Monument, will be up and running for the tourists.

Television like you have never seen or paid for in the past

Mia, who offers online CDR writing services, says that 2020 is the dawn of the revolutionary era of television. This year, you’ll see a multitude of new streaming services being launched, such as Peacock and HBO Max. Further, a lot of new shows, spinoffs and reboots are coming for you. In addition to it, the OTT platforms like Amazon Prime, Hotstar, Apple TV, and Netflix won’t linger far behind either. They are coming up with their dose of supremely entertaining content that you can invest your time in. So, get ready and make sure you have subscribed for all the freshly brewed content coming your way in 2020.

A total eclipse

Do you remember the 2017 Great American Eclipse? It was a fun time, for sure. Well, it is time to get excited all over again. Because this year, in December 2020, there will be a Great South American Eclipse taking over. A lot of eclipse watchers are excited about this event and are evening making plans to gather for the sighting in Argentina. Because of this solar eclipse, there will be brief darkness experienced on December 14. However, this isn’t it. There are a couple of more fun events happening in the space around the same time. It is believed that the Geminid meteor shower will spangle in the sky on the night of December 13. Further, a special alignment of Saturn and Jupiter is predicted for a week later. Well, that’s a lot of takeaway for a space nerd.

So, these, according to us, are the top 8 things that you should look forward to in 2020. If you have more to add to the list, do let us know in comments below.

5 Cool European Music Festivals in 2020

0

Europe is blessed with a broad selection of music festivals for fans of all genres to delve into each year, and 2020 looks set to be just as vibrant for live music lovers who want to rub shoulders with thousands of others.

Here are just a few of the coolest festival options to consider booking, across a number of exciting European destinations that are a thrill to explore in their own right.

Sweden Rock Festival 2020

It might not have the most inspiring name, but if you want to experience the monsters of rock in one of the most chilled out, beautiful countries in the world, this is the festival to visit. Headliners this year include everyone from Guns N’ Roses to Social Distortion to Opeth and beyond.

One of the perks of Sweden Rock, aside from its line-up, is the fact that there are 5 stages, each of which is large enough to accommodate a major artist. This means that set times are a little longer than at other festivals. Organisers have also added another cellular mask to the site, which means if you want to play a Swedish casino online or catch up with social media between performances, you can do so without signal dropout.

Download Festival

Download Festival is the UK’s number one hotspot for metal and punk of every variety. This year it will play host to various titans of their respective genres, including the spiky Californian sounds of The Offspring, the glitz and glamour of KISS and the pounding rhythms of System of a Down.

Of course you don’t just have to stick around the main stages and see the well known acts at Download; it has plenty more to offer, allowing you to check out up and coming alternative bands in more intimate settings. Basically, if you like your music with a bit of bite, this is definitely the coolest festival Europe has to offer.

Hellfest Open Air

If you like the sound of Download Festival but you don’t want to visit the UK for some reason, then Hellfest Open Air is the best place for metal and classic rock on the continent. Held in Clisson, France, this festival has already got some big names confirmed for 2020 including Deftones, Korn, Faith No More and Incubus.

While it is scheduled for June, there is every chance that the weather might take a turn for the worst and leave the fields of the festival churned up and muddy; but then that really only adds to the atmosphere and is something that attendees tend to thrive on.

Super Bock Super Rock

Boasting a more varied line-up than you might think from its name, this Portuguese festival actually takes place in the city of Lisbon itself, rather than forcing fans to trek out to the middle of nowhere to get their fix of fantastic music.

In 2020 you can expect to see the likes of Foals, Local Natives and even A$AP Rocky taking to the stage at Super Bock Super Rock. Just remember to pack some sunscreen and be prepared to deal with the sometimes stifling heat that Portugal is subjected to in late July.

Glastonbury

It may be one of the world’s most well known and widely attended festivals, but Glastonbury has achieved its legendary status for a reason and it still deserves to be experienced by anyone who considers themselves a musical connoisseur.

The highest profile performers around are scheduled to hit the famous Pyramid Stage this year, ranging from Taylor Swift to Sir Paul McCartney. With literally thousands of other performers and activities on offer, Glastonbury will never lose its street cred.

On April 30 1970, Pink Floyd played an hour-long set in an empty Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, filmed for broadcast by small local television station called KQED. “At that point, they were really anxious to have whatever publicity they could,” remembers the program’s co-producer at KQED, Jim Farber. “We did not have much of a budget. Pink Floyd did the performance and offered the rights for a certain number of airings for practically nothing. My memory is we paid them $200.”

Canadian Hip Hop Artist Toronto Poor Boy Releases Inspiring New Single “Big Dreams”

0

Canadian hip hop artist Toronto Poor Boy is set to inspire with the release of his fired up new track, “Big Dreams” — available now.

With 300,000 views across YouTube and radio airplay throughout Toronto, Australia and the UK, Toronto Poor Boy has released the track ahead of his forthcoming debut studio album, available this spring.

Hot on the heels of late 2019’s single release, “Karma,” “Big Dreams” amplifies the Jamaican-born entertainer’s dynamic blend of hip hop, rock and reggae, while drawing audiences to his magnetic online presence full of original comedy skits.

But even further, the track mirrors Poor Boy’s own story and path; born in Jamaica into poverty, he was raised in group and foster homes throughout Toronto from the time he immigrated to Canada as a young teen, to the point of legal age and when he was released on his own.

It’s this come up — from straits to the stage — that magnify Toronto Poor Boy’s achievements in working hard to pursue his dream of writing and performing. It’s his personal struggle — the loneliness of not having a family, the experience of navigating life far back from the ‘starting line,’ and the quest to stay out of trouble— that create such a rich and dynamic storytelling within the rapper’s music.

Poor Boy’s music is very much a reflection of his complex identity; “I’m very much two people,” he says. “Not innocent or bad, but both parts exist simultaneously.”

“Ultimately, it’s my goal to inspire those in my community. My message to everyone is to never give up, and keep working on those ‘Big Dreams.’”

“Big Dreams” is available now.
