0

Walmart Canada announced today the launch of same-day Walmart Grocery Pickup  in Richmond Hill. This free service allows consumers to shop for their groceries online on Walmart.ca, or through the Walmart app, and pick up at their local Walmart store – now, on the same day.

From the comfort of home, on a break at work, or on-the-go, using a smartphone, customers can place a grocery order for pick up at a location and time that is convenient for them. Highly-trained grocery associates prepare the order, carefully selecting each product. Shoppers simply pull into a designated pickup parking spot, call the assigned phone number alerting an associate to their arrival and their order will be brought out to them and loaded into their vehicle. Orders must be placed before 11 a.m. for pick up after 4 p.m. The minimum order is $50 before taxes.

“At Walmart, we’re known for saving our customers money and with the launch of same-day grocery pickup, we’re also helping our customers save valuable time,” said Daryl Porter, vice president of Omni-Channel and Online Grocery, Walmart Canada. “Free online grocery pick up means customers can shop whenever it’s convenient for them from wherever they are.”

Customers can shop for fresh groceries, including Canada No. 1 grade fruits and vegetables and organic produce, Canadian AAA Angus beef, pork and chicken and seafood and all fresh groceries come with a 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee. They can also shop for dairy, baked goods, deli, frozen foods as well as health and beauty products, household supplies, pet food, baby food, diapers, and lots more.

Walmart is making every day easier for busy Canadian families. Today’s launch complements the ever-expanding Walmart free Grocery Pickup, grocery delivery, site to store and online shopping on walmart.ca.

Elton John Announces Revamp, Set To Release On April 6

0

Elton John today announces Revamp, slated to release on April 6. Bringing together a carefully curated selection of the world’s biggest and best artists, Revamp sees Elton and co-writer Bernie Taupin’s best loved songs reinterpreted by some of contemporary music’s most vital talents. The album spans a breathtaking array of styles, shining a light on Elton’s unparalleled influence across popular music of all genres, ranging from Hip-hop / Soul (Q-Tip, Mary J Blige) to Rock (The Killers, Queens of the Stone Age) to Pop (Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, P!nk & Logic).

“’It’s always a huge compliment when an artist loves your song enough to take the time and effort to rework it,” says Elton. “As songwriters, Bernie and myself are thrilled when singers we admire and respect as much as those on Revamp choose to add their own unique twist in the process. It means that our music is still relevant and ultimately that our songs continue to reach new audiences. We’re humbled and thank them all for their generosity.”

Revamp – Tracklisting:

  1. Bennie And The Jets – Elton John, P!nk and Logic
  2. We All Fall In Love Sometimes – Coldplay
  3. I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues – Alessia Cara
  4. Candle In The Wind (2018 Version) – Ed Sheeran
  5. Tiny Dancer – Florence +The Machine
  6. Someone Saved My Life Tonight – Mumford & Sons
  7. Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word – Mary J. Blige
  8. Don’t Go Breaking My Heart – Q-Tip feat. Demi Lovato
  9. Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters – The Killers
  10. Daniel – Sam Smith
  11. Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me – Miley Cyrus
  12. Your Song – Lady Gaga
  13. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road – Queens of the Stone Age

The calibre of names contributing to Revamp is another reminder of Elton’s enduring popularity at a typically busy and prolific time for the superstar. Last month he announced his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which marks the finale of 50 years on the road. Comprising of over 300 dates across five continents over three years, the tour kicks off in September with five stops in Canada, including 2 shows in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre on September 25 & 26. The first 60 dates sold out immediately after going on general sale, confirming that the farewell tour will be some of, if not the, hottest gig tickets of the next three years. Full list of Canadian tour dates below, and additional tour information available at eltonjohn.com/tours.

Revamp arrives as follow up to Elton’s ultimate greatest hits album Diamonds, released in November of 2017. Coinciding with his 70th birthday and the 50th anniversary of his phenomenal songwriting partnership with Bernie Taupin, the album prompted a flurry of celebratory activity and was certified twice Gold in the UK, reaching the top 5 of the UK album chart upon its release.

Elton’s influence on the worlds of fashion and film also continues to burn as brightly as ever. Last year Gucci unveiled their Spring Summer 2018 collection designed by Alessandro Michele and inspired by Elton’s inimitable style, referencing original items taken from the style icon’s archives. Elton also appeared as himself in a critically lauded, hilariously tongue-in-cheek role in the motion picture, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle”, and his songs soundtrack the forthcoming “Sherlock Gnomes”. Last year also saw Elton and Taupin launch “The Cut”, a project allowing undiscovered creative talent from all over the world the chance to create the official music videos for some of their most iconic songs: “Rocket Man”, “Tiny Dancer” and “Bennie And The Jets”, each winning video attracting millions upon millions of Youtube views.

Revamp stands as yet another timely reminder of John and Taupin’s influence on the next generation of global stars at a time when their music continues to fill stadiums, sell albums and influence fashion. John stands alone as a true great, whose music still garners such admiration from a truly broad range of global stars. The release of Revamp will also be accompanied by a Nashville influenced album Restoration, slated to release on the same date, April 6, featuring John’s songs reinterpreted by the biggest in Country music, including Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, Miley Cyrus and Willie Nelson.

  • September 28 – Ottawa, ON (Canadian Tire Centre)

Musician, producer, visual artist, thinker and activist Eno first came to international prominence in the early ’70s as a founding member of Roxy Music, and immediately followed with a series of critically-praised and influential solo albums. His visionary production includes albums with David Bowie, Talking Heads, Devo, Laurie Anderson and Coldplay, whilst his long list of collaborations includes recordings with John Cale, David Byrne, Grace Jones and James Blake.

Less widely discussed although equally notable and arguably even more prolific are his visual experiments with light and video. These are the fertile ground from which so much of his other work has grown, they cover an even longer span of time than his recordings, and have in recent decades paralleled his musical output.

These highly-acclaimed works have been exhibited all over the globe – from the Venice Biennale and the Marble Palace in St. Petersburg to Beijing’s Ritan Park and the sails of the Sydney Opera House.

Record Store Day Canada teams up with MusiCounts and The Sheepdogs

0

Record Store Day has partnered with MusiCounts and The Sheepdogs to help spread the word about music education across Canada. Independent record stores across the country will be selling The Sheepdogs pins to customers this Record Store Day, Saturday, April 21, 2018. Customers purchasing a limited edition pin for a loonie or toonie is an opportunity to give back to the music community. It’ll also help to put instruments in the hands of kids who need them most through MusiCounts programs.

The Sheepdogs are Record Store Day’s Champions of Canada. With three releases coming out for this year’s big day, they are the ideal partners for the RSDC and MusiCounts commemorative pin series. The pins are synonymous with those released in other Record Store Day markets and have become highly sought after by hardened collectors.

In its first ten years, Record Store Day Canada (the Day) has grown exponentially and is now celebrated by millions of people, in thousands of independent record stores, worldwide.
