Chart Topping Sensations Fifth Harmony Announce The 7/27 Tour
Chart topping sensations, Fifth Harmony, will set the summer on fire again this year with THE 7/27 TOUR set to launch on Wednesday, July 27 at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH. The tour, produced by Live Nation, will support their brand new album, 7/27, featuring their latest hit single “Work from Home” due out on Syco Music/Epic Records on Friday, May 27. Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, Camila Cabello and Dinah Jane will bring their powerhouse vocal performances to fans throughout North America this summer with over 30 tour dates lined up including shows in Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, San Diego and more. When purchasing a ticket, fans will also have the opportunity to make a voluntary donation to Urban Fitness 911, a Los Angeles non-profit dedicated to promoting health, fitness and academic skills in low-income communities. Drake Expanding SUMMER SIXTEEN TOUR With 15 Brand New Dates
The fans have spoken… and Drake listened. After announcing the SUMMER SIXTEEN TOUR WITH FUTURE AND SPECIAL GUESTS last month, fans rushed to get tickets to one of the summer’s hottest tours. As show after show sold out, even more fans took to social media asking to see the Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum selling artist bring his latest hits to the stage. Drake heard them and responded by expanding SUMMER SIXTEEN TOUR with 15 brand new dates in cities including Edmonton, Newark, Montreal, San Jose, Denver and Des Moines along with additional shows in New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto, Detroit and Philadelphia. The average age for a child getting their first smartphone is now 10 years
A new report from Influence Central’s new report called Kids & Tech: The Evolution of Today’s Digital Natives is coming out this week. The report—which is a subsection from a larger, ongoing study of 500 women across the USA—details findings on the way that kids are using technology and reveals several interesting insights. The highlights include:
- The average age for a child getting their first smartphone is now 10.3 years
- Tablets have surged from 26% to 55% usage as kids’ device of choice during car rides. Smartphones trail at 45% (up from 39% in 2012).
- 64% of kids have access to the Internet via their own laptop or tablet, compared to just 42% in 2012
- 39% of kids get a social media account at 11.4 years. 11% got a social media account when they were younger than 10.
Additionally, some of Influence Central’s research paints a picture of parents who are relaxing a little bit about their kids’ access to the internet which is enabled by so many devices.
- While 85% accessed the Internet from a room shared with the family in 2012, that number dropped to 76% today, and 24% now have “private” access from their bedrooms (compared to 15% in 2012.)
Minimoog synthesizer to return
Moog Music has announced the return of the Minimoog Model D, originally produced from 1970 to 1981. “Pilot-production” models are going on sale at this weekend’s Moogfest in Durham, N.C. The Minimoog was a staple of prog rock by groups like Emerson, Lake & Palmer; it was used on Kraftwerk’s classic Autobahn and the first four albums by Gary Numan.
